- Chandigarh, Aug 21 – Haryana Public Health Engineering Department has been strengthening the water supply system in Pataudi and Haily Mandi towns in Pataudi Assembly Constituency at a cost of about Rs 429.88 lakh.
- While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that there are 125 villages, 26 dhanis in Pataudi constituency and drinking water is being supplied to these villages through five canal based water works covering 25 villages and 100 tubewell based water works. Thus the water supply in most of the villages is tubewell based. There are six deficient villages namely Khoh, Manesar, Naharpur-Kasan, Mirzapur, Raja-Ki-Dhani and Uncha Majra where drinking water supply is less than 40 litres per capita per day, where work of providing and installation of 49 tubewells and laying of connecting pipeline is in progress for upgradation of water supply status at the cost of Rs 1877.69 lakh.
- He said that in two towns namely Pataudi and Haily Mandi in Pataudi constituency drinking water is being supplied through two boosting stations in each town from newly commissioned canal based water works at village Badli with raw water source from NCR channel raising the water supply status to 135 LPCD. These boosting stations including rising main and distribution system have been recently constructed and commissioned against an estimate of Rs 4115 lakh. The treated water from 32 MLD WTP at Badli is supplied to IBS at Babra-Bakipur, from where it is supplied to the households twice a day, that is, in morning and evening sessions, no sort of any kind of complaint has been received. The same water from WTP Badli is also supplied to Farrukhnagar and Nuh towns as well, he added.
- He said that there are five towns and 366 villages in district Mahendragarh. The water is being supplied through 36 canal based and 117 tubewell based water supply schemes. There is no town or village where the water supply status is less than 40 LPCD, he added.
- The spokesman said that in canal based water supply schemes, the raw water is stored in open storage and sedimentation tanks. These tanks are exposed to sunshine. The raw water is then filtered and after chlorination water is supplied to general public daily. The raw water in storage and sedimentation tanks does not remain stagnant for long period, so there is no possibility of supplying of stale water.
