  • Chandigarh Aug 26 – On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan today, sisters and daughters of various institutions greeted the Haryana Governor, Mr. Satyadev Narayan Arya and first lady of the state, Mrs. Saraswati Devi and tied Rakhi on the wrist of Governor. Earlier, the Governor and his wife gave the message of environment conservation by planting saplings in Haryana Raj Bhavan premises.
  • Greeting people on this occasion, the Governor said that Raksha Bandhan is the festival of love and affinity. This festival strengthens the relationship between brothers and sisters.
  • Thanking the girls who tied Rakhi, the Governor said that the presence of girls and women have filled the Raj Bhavan with jubilations and happiness. The festival  of Raksha Bandhan has been celebrated in a great manner and he would remember this day throughout his life, he added.
  • Earlier in the day, the sisters from Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya tied Rakhi on the wrists of Governor and the first Lady and prayed for their healthy and happy life. The Hindustan Scouts and Guides girls also tied Rakhi.  
  • The Governor gave blessings and distributed sweets and gifts to all.
