- Chandigarh, Aug 31 – The National Health Mission, Haryana would launch third vaccination campaign in the state under ‘Vistarit Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’ from September 13, 2018. Under this campaign, about 11 lakh newborn children up to two years of age would be immunized.
- In a review meeting held on the directions of Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, the Mission Director, NHM, Mrs. Amneet P. Kumar said that under this third round, special focus would be laid on Mewat to develop strong immunity in children there.
- She said that for the success of the campaign, directions have been issued to update the list of all children so that no child would remain uncovered. She said that ANM and other health employees would also be deployed for the smooth implementation of campaign. Training would be imparted to these employees in order to avoid any kind of interruption. Apart from this, balloon having logo of Mission Indradhanush would be used in villages which would have major requirement of vaccination to make people aware, she added.
- Under this campaign, the entire state would be covered with vaccination by December 2018. The ‘Vistarit Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’ is being run in 45,137 such villages of the country which have population more than 1,000. These villages included 299 villages of Mewat where special focus would be laid.
