  • Chandigarh, September 1 :   Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that in this era of economic revolution, India Post Payments (IPP) Bank would prove to be effective in furthering the cashless transactions under  Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi's Digital India and today with the start of IPP Bank in  20 main Post Offices and 80 Sub- Post Offices of Haryana, it is the beginning of an era of  banking sector utilizing  technology. He said that it is the transformation of new thinking of Prime Minister’s digital banking.
  • The Chief Minister was addressing at the main post office of Yamuna Nagar on the occasion of the inauguration of the India Post Payment Bank being launched by Prime Minister,  Mr  Narendra Modi altogether in 650 Post Offices and over 2500 sub- Post Offices in the country from the Taalkatora Stadium in New Delhi.
  • He said that there are 6 lakh villages in the entire country and from today around 50 thousand banking branches would be linked to the 2.5 lakh post office banking services. He said that with cashless  transaction no one would be able to hide theft and it would increase the Government revenue which would be spent on the development projects for the benefit of the poor people. He said that earlier also Prime Minister has taken revolutionary decisions like demonetization and GST. Today Gross Domestic Product has reached 8.2 per cent which shows improvement in  country’s economy. It would not only bring  transparency but also benefit  small shopkeepers, poor people for social security pension and wages under  MNREGA, , loan and  insurance benefits for self-employed through India Post Payments Bank.
  • The Chief Minister appreciated the main lines “Aapka Bank Aapke Ghar” of  India Post Payment Bank and said that with this the post office would  surely multiply the banking services three times by taking it to the far off places. He said that people used to say “Dakiya Daak Laaya” but now they will say “Daakiya Bank Laaya”. He said that with the use of information technology the present government has caught more than 1.5 lakh fake beneficiaries of  social security pension in the last four years and ceased their pensions and also added about 5.5 lakh new eligible persons under this scheme.
  • He said that people have faith on Post Office since earlier times. On this occasion the Chief Minister also read the post card of the Additional Director, School Inspection written to Sarpanch of village  Rampur Khadar on August 19, 1959 in which the education department approved the opening of girls' high school in that village. In that post card other details asked from Sarpanch included  whether there is any  Girls school in village, whether teachers come to that school and  how far is the village located from the city and bus service to village for the purpose of inspection. This kind of credit also goes to the Post office. He said that everyone used to  wait for the postman.
  • The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Mr  Narendra Modi for linking Indian Postal Department with India Post Payments Bank. The Chief Minister also opened his account in the India Post Payments Bank and also received “Mera Ticket Mera Garv” from the department. He also released the special ticket of India Post Payments Bank. On this occasion, the special relay of 45 minute program of IPP Bank launch by Mr Narendra Modi from Taalkatora Stadium, New Delhi was also listened by people present there.
