  • Chandigarh, September 2 - Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadev Narayan Arya and the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today congratulated the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami.
  • In a message issued here today on the eve of Janmashtami, the Governor said that this sacred festival gives people an opportunity to remember the teachings of Lord Shri Krishna and to strengthen the spirit of universal brotherhood and peace.
  • Describing the holy message of  Srimad Bhagavad Gita, given by Lord Shri Krishna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra, as a great contribution to humanity, the Governor urged the people to resolve to follow the life and teachings of Lord Shri Krishna on this holy occasion.
  • The Chief Minister said that the divine message of Lord Shri Krishna is   in Srimad Bhagavad Gita for the welfare of mankind.  As mentioned in the holy  book, performance of one’s duty is better than inaction and to leave the outcome to the will of God. He said that the teachings and philosophy of Lord Shri Krishna are relevant even today and we must follow them to live a successful life.
