  • Chandigarh, Sept 4 – In yet another drug bust incident, Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police have seized more than 313 kilogram of Chura Post after it arrested a person from  district Jind.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that the arrested accused had been identified as Manish, a resident of village Dumarkhan Khurd. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed that he used to bring chura post from Madhya Pradesh at the rate of Rs 2500 per kg and supply it in Jind, Kaithal and Narwana area on higher rates. 
  • Divulging the details, he said that a team of STF had arrested the accused following a tip-off from an informer and recovered 313.380 kg narcotics. The other accomplice Sukhbir had managed to escape.  A case under NDPS Act had been registered against them at Sadar Police Station in Narwana and police is also investigating the source of drug suppliers. He said that Police remand would be sought by producing the accused in the court so that involvement of others in drug peddling could be unearthed.  
  • Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr. B.S. Sandhu made it clear that Police would not allow drug peddling in the state and stern action would be taken against those found involved in such incidents. He also urged the people to come forward fearlessly, and share information against the sale, consumption and use of narcotics in the state so as to help the police to completely curb drug menace from the society.
