  • Chandigarh, Sept 10 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar today informed that a proposal is under the consideration of the State Government to open Government College at Pillukhera in district Jind.
  • Mr. Dhankar was replying on behalf of Education Minister Mr Ram Bilas Sharma in the ongoing session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, here today.
  • He said that there are 2,170 sanctioned posts of principal, 1,222 of headmaster, 38,229 of PGT and 5,548 of elementary teachers. Similarly, there are 18,761 sanctioned posts of masters, 19,127 posts of C and V teachers and 44,269 of JBT/Head Teacher, in the department.
  • The Minister said that the posts for principal, headmaster, PGT, Elementary Headmaster, C and V, JBT and JBT Urdu in government schools of the state included 48,666 posts for General Category, 14,305 for Scheduled Castes category and 20,763 posts for backward classes. He said that 13,784 guest teachers are working in the government schools of the state. These included 1,606 posts for Scheduled Castes, 1,675 for Scheduled Castes Category B, 9,238 for General Category, 48 for Special Backward Classes and 1,217 for Backward Classes.
  • While replying to another question, he said that the English medium classes have been started in 119 government primary schools in the current academic session of 2018-19 and in the next phase, such classes would also be started for 2nd class from next year. He said that 299 schools would soon be added to this after selecting two schools each from every education block.
  • Replying to a supplementary question, he said that after fulfilling the necessary norms, classes of science and commerce would be started in ten plus two class in Government Senior Secondary School, Golagarh, Bhiwani.
