  • Chandigarh, Sept 12- Haryana Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj said that a private company named A.G. Doter, has proposed to clean the dirty water flowing in the drain in Dhanaura escapes in Indri Vidhan Sabha Constituency. This would help in getting rid of filth and stench spreading in nearby villages.
  • In this regard, the Minister was presiding over a review meeting which was attended by senior officers of Public Health and Engineering, Irrigation, Industry and Commerce and New and Renewable Energy Departments and others, here today.
  • He said that the company had requested for some land on lease, for setting up a sewerage treatment plant near Dhanaura escape. The company has claimed that it would not only generate electricity and fuel from dirty water but would also make it usable for irrigation and potable. A meeting of senior officers and officials of the company would be arranged so as to take the decision on the feasibility of the plant.
  • He said that from this drain, the dirty water is spreading and foul smell is emanating in the nearby areas, because of which there is danger of spreading of the disease. This was long pending demand of people of villages Kalsora, Jupati Chapra, Dhabkoli Kalan and Dhabkoli Khurd.
  • Those present included, Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Mr. Devender Singh, Chairman, Haryana Pollution Control Board, Mr. Ashok Khetarpal, Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering, Mr. D.S. Bajwa and other senior officers.
