  • Chandigarh, Sept 13 – Haryana Government has decided to give the benefit of 7th Pay Commission to employees of State Institute for Rehabilitation, Training and Research, Rohtak. Apart from this, the employees would be registered under NPS scheme instead of EPF.
  • A decision to this effect has been taken in the fourth meeting of Governing Body of State Institute for Rehabilitation, Training and Research, Rohtak held under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishan Kumar, here today.
  • It was decided in the meeting to constitute a committee headed by Joint Director for framing service rules of these employees, appointing seven Assistant Professors for teaching students of B.Ed and D.Ed (Special Education), one Assistant Professor for teaching Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology, sanctioning posts of other required staff and appointing Rehabilitation Officer for disabled persons. Apart from this, approval was also given for starting M.Ed (Special Education) Course in the institution and construction of academic block, hostel and family cottage. Discussions were also held in the meeting on construction of hostel for orphans and disabled persons, and shelter home for rehabilitation of patients after they get cured.
  • The Minister said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, is committed towards providing every assistance to disabled persons. He said that the State Government has started various schemes for their welfare. He said that the State Institute for Rehabilitation, Training and Research, Rohtak is an autonomous body, but it gets full assistance from the State Government. He said that there would be no dearth of funds for assistance of this institution.
  • Others present in the meeting included Principal Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Mr. Neerja Sekhar and Director, Mrs. Gauri Parashar Joshi and other senior officers.
