  • Chandigarh, Sept 28 – In yet another major catch, Haryana Police have arrested two arms suppliers of Uttar Pradesh and seized nine pistols from them.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that accused have been identified as Gurjeet Singh, a resident of village Alamgirpur, district Meerut and Munender alias Rinku, resident of Akhapur, district Mukteshwar in Uttar Pradesh. They were arrested from Patiala Chowk in Jind by a team of Detective staff following a tip-off.
  • During interrogation, accused disclosed that they had been supplying illegal arms in Jind area for a long time.
  • He said that police got secret information that two persons stood towards Railway road at Patiala Chowk and they also had illegal weapons. Acting swiftly, police team nabbed the duo. When searched, police team found 5 pistols from Gurjeet whereas four pistols were recovered from Munender.  He said that both accused would be taken on police remand by producing them before the court so that involvement of others could be unearthed.
  • Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu appreciated the Jind Police for their relentless efforts for checking the crime  of illegal weapons in the district.  
  • Detective staff of Jind Police have successfully busted racket of arms suppliers of Uttar Pradesh and recovered 16 pistols during last one week.  Recently, it had arrested Shabbir of Uttar Pradesh and recovered 7 weapons from his possession.
