  • Chandigarh, Sept 16 - A team of Narcotics Staff, Sirsa have arrested two drug peddlers after it recovered 5 quintals of poppy husk valued lakh of rupees from two vehicles in district Bhiwani. The seized narcotic substance was to be supplied in Sirsa, Hisar and Bhiwani.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that following a tip-off from an informer, police team raided poultry farm located in village Garwa area and seized 12 bags having 3 quintals of poppy husk from Creta car. Police has also arrested driver of the vehicle Pawan, a resident of village Garwa in Bhiwani. The team also recovered 8 bags having 2 quintals of poppy husk loaded in a swift dzire and arrested another accused driver Navdeep of village Gopalwas, Bhiwani. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed that he used to supply it in Sirsa, Hisar and Bhiwani area.
  • A case under NDPS Act had been registered against them at Siwani Police Station in Bhiwani. Police is also investigating the source of drug suppliers so that involvement of others in drug peddling could be unearthed.  
  • Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr. B.S. Sandhu made it clear that Police would not allow drug peddling in the state and stern action would be taken against those found involved in such incidents.
