  • Chandigarh, September 28:- Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam has taken a number of innovative and pro-active steps due to which the transmission system availability is in the range of 99 per cent, which is amongst the highest in the country. The Intra- State cumulative Transmission losses from April 2018 to July 2018 are 2.096 per cent which is one of the best among the transmission utilities in India.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Power Utilities said that in order to further improve the reliability and system availability of transmission system in the State, HVPN management has decided to place spare 25 big power transformers of various ratings at various 66 kV and above substations in the State.   These spare 25 big power transformers would be kept hot/ energized at no load so that the damaged power transformer is replaced immediately.  These spare hot power transformers are in addition to the power transformers being installed by HVPNL in the system to supply additional load demand of the electricity consumers.  By installing these spare power transformers, it would now be possible for the HVPNL to replace the damaged power transformer in a comparative very less time, which will not only result into earlier restoration of power supply to the electricity consumers in the State, but it would also increase the reliability and system availability of transmission system in the State. 
  • He said that HVPN being State Power Transmission Utility is operating and maintaining the Intra-State Power Transmission system in the State of Haryana.  HVPN is fully committed to provide quality and economical transmission of power to the electricity consumers in the State. 
  • He said that the Power Utilities have earned a profit of Rs 38 crore for the first quarter of current financial year 2018-19.  This has been achieved by consistent efforts made by the Utilities to recover from the losses and the profit would be utilised for creation of additional transmission infrastructure in the State.
  • He said that by using Information Technology to the maximum, the Utilities have earned profit as per the vision of the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal. The power utilities have discontinued manual accounting system with effect from April 1, 2018 and switched over to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions in all its accounting units. With the implementation of ERP the accounting transactions are recorded online on real time basis in all the accounting units and then compiled at the Head Office. This ensures transparency in the accounting system besides efficiency.    
  • He said that the Utilities have successfully prepared its quarterly balance sheet and Profit and Loss account From April-June, 2018 in ERP.  The implementation of ERP has also promoted necessary feedback for management decisions and better fund management among all the locations of the power utilities.
