  • Chandigarh, September 20, 2018: Haryana Government has decided to launch a State level cleanliness campaign especially in the villages so as to make the entire State clean and beautiful.
  • While stating this today, an official spokesman said that Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has given directions that before the birth anniversary of the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, 2018 all the Maha-Grams of State would be made neat and clean. The Chief Minister would himself review the progress report of Maha-Gram Swachhta Campaign on daily basis.
  • He said that under this campaign on Gandhi Jayanti, four lakh persons including two lakh school students would participate in this campaign.  He said that Development and Panchayats Department will carry out this cleanliness drive in MahaGrams and under Parivartan Scheme senior officers would ensure cleanliness in atleast two villages among designated 47 blocks.
  • He said that special campaign should be organized in the State for the cleanliness of   hospitals, schools and other institutions in which active participation of schools, NGOs, NSS, NCC and other voluntary organizations should also be ensured.     
  • It is pertinent to mention here that in the recent days, Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and the other ministers and Dignitaries also participated in ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Movement' at various places which inspired the people to connect with this campaign.  Also messages have been given by the Chief Minister and the Ministers to make people aware about cleanliness.
