- Chandigarh, September 26- Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that in order to fulfill the requirement of the sportspersons, 361 types of different sports items amounting to Rs. 50 crore would be purchased by the State Government.
- In a High-level Purchase Committee meeting that held here today under the chairmanship of Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, directions were given to complete the process, at the earliest. It would provide more equipment for the sportspersons of the State and they would play more dynamically.
- Keeping in view the requirement of the sportspersons, Mr Vij has directed to purchase sports items including Hammer, High Jump Crossbar, Javelin, Shot put, Stopwatch, Toe Board, Badminton Racket, Badminton Net, Boxing gloves, Head Guard, Punching Pad and gloves, Basket Ball, Cricket Balls, Batting Leg guard, Footballs and related equipment, Balancing beam for gymnastics, Crash Mat, Parallel Bar, Runway Mat, Skipping Rope, Hand Ball, Handball net, Hockey stick, Balls, Judo Mat, Kho Kho Pole, kabaddi mat, Lawn Tennis net, Racket, Volleyball Pole and net, Wrestling Mat, Yoga Mat, Indian Dhanush Set etc.
- Mr Vij said that with the purchase of these items, the sportspersons would be able to concentrate more on achieving the medals for Haryana. He said that the present Government not only has made new sports policy but also released a calendar of reward money and service for sportspersons on the basis of their eligibility. Accordingly, today, no sportsperson is required to plead for their rights.
