- Chandigarh, September 25 – Haryana Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today approved the amendment in the Punjab Distillery Rules, 1932 as applicable to Haryana.
- As per the amendment, the distilleries, breweries and bottling plants will bear the expenses for making necessary arrangements at manufactories for effective monitoring and control over the manufacturing and despatches.
- The state government has decided to install CCTV cameras in the distilleries / bottling plants / breweries as well as at the head office for closely monitoring the liquor movement and tracking the excisable articles from these manufactories on real time basis to prevent illegal movement of liquor.
