- Chandigarh, September 24 : Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar appealed the farmers of the State to upload the details of their kharif crops especially Bajra on “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” App up to 12 am (midnight) on September 25, 2018 so that they should not face any problem during the procurement of Bajra by the State Government from October 1.
- Mr Dhankar gave this information during his interaction with the media persons after chairing a review meeting with the senior officers of the department about steps being taken for procurement of Kharif crops.
- Regarding a question raised by opposition about the form for providing information to the farmers, Mr Dhankar said that the present Government has taken various steps for the welfare of the farmers. The opposition does not have any valid issue and they are just misleading the people. He said that Bajra would be procured at the rate of Rs. 1950 per quintal and the Government wish to deposit the procurement amount directly in the farmers accounts. He said that the landless farmers who are farming on the land taken on lease can give information about any of their saving account. Mentioning the loan amount is not mandatory.
- Replying to a query about the continuous rains from last three days, Mr Dhankar said that still it is raining and the concerned field officers are keeping vigil on the situation. The damage due to waterlogging or any other reason could be assessed properly only after the rains stop, he added.
