- Chandigarh, September 24 : As many as 2.78 lakh youth will be imparted training under Haryana Skills Development scheme in the State.
- While giving information, an official spokesman said that Skill Development and Industrial Training Department is imparting training to the youth through advanced technology so that they could either get a job or can start their own venture after completing their course.
- He said that when Haryana was formed in the year 1966, there were only 48 state industrial training institutes with 7156 approved seats in total. At present, there are 388 state and private industrial training institutes in the State having 99124 approved seats and training is imparted in 78 professional courses. Regular improvements in training, curriculum, training methods and training of instructors are being done in the industrial training institutes by Government of India. Apart from this, new professional courses are being started as per the demand of the industry.
- He said that the dual Training Policy has been started by the Directorate of Training, under Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India. Under this, the trainees of Industrial Training Institutes will be trained as industry associates in the industries of their nearby areas. He said that under this, training will be imparted in 16 vocational courses.
- He said that for the third time consecutively online counseling cum entrance has been conducted in Government and Private Industrial Training Institutes of the State. Two new professional courses namely ‘Soil Testing and Crop Technicians' and ‘Geo-Informatics Assistant’ have also been started. He also informed that under Haryana Skill Development Mission, more than 65000 youth have been trained in different professional courses in the state.
- He further informed that under the Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme, there is a target of training 21,000 trainees whereas under Haryana Skill Development Scheme more than 2.78 lakh trainees would be trained.
