  • Chandigarh, September 29 - The Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi will join the celebrations of four-year completion of the present Government in Haryana in a large scale function to be organised in the State.
  • The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today called on the Prime Minister in this regard at his residence in New Delhi. Mr Maohar Lal discussed with the Prime Minister in detail regarding the various new projects of which the foundation stones would be laid and also those which would be inaugurated to mark the four-year completion of the present Government.  
  • Later, after his meeting with the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister while interacting with the media persons said that the State Government  would organise a large scale function to commemorate the completion of its four-year. The date of this State level function would be fixed very soon, he added.
  • Detailing about the projects, the Chief Minister said that the inaugurations and foundation stones of 12 projects in all would be laid in the State on this occasion which include Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway inauguration, Vishwakarma Skill Development University at Palwal, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya University of Health Sciences  in Karnal, AYUSH University at Kurukshetra,  starting of OPD Service of Cancer Institute at Bhadsa (Jhajjar), and Rail Coach Factory at Sonipat. The unveiling of the Statue of Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram at Sampla district Rohtak is also included in the programs to be organised on the four- year completion of the present Government.
  • Chandigarh, September 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal announced a sum of Rs. one lakh each to seven workers of New Grain Market, Karnal, who died two days ago due to illness. The traders of Grain Market also assured to give Rs. 50,000 for them.
  • Mr Manohar Lal today visited the Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal and enquired the well being of ailing workers of New Grain Market and also assured them free treatment by the Government.
  • The Chief Minister said that seven workers died in the New Grain Market two days ago which is matter of deep sorrow for him. He said that investigations are in progress to find out the reasons for their demise. The workers who are not well are being treated in the Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal.
  • Apart from this, the Chief Minister visited the residence of BJP leader Mr A.S. Arora and expressed condolences to the bereaved family on the death of his father, social worker late Mr Darshan Singh.
  • The Chief Minister paid obeisance at  Dera Kar Sewa, talked to the devotees and enquired the health of  Baba Sukha Singh, the Director of the Dera.  On this occasion, MLA Assandh, Mr  Bakhshish Singh Virk, Vice-President of Punjabi Academy, Mr Gurvinder Singh and OSD to Chief Minister, Mr Amarendar Singh and other dignitaries were also present.
  • Chandigarh, September 29 : Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that the community and the country which honors its soldiers, their sacrifices and martyrdom and sings the Sagas of their valor, that  community and nation surely moves forward on the path of progress.
  • Capt Abhimanyu said this while addressing the gathering at 'Sainik Samman Samaroh' organized on the occasion of Surgical Strike day  at Haldwani in Uttarakhand today to mark the second anniversary of the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army across the LoC on September 29, 2016. 
  • He said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi our country has achieved new heights in the world and the people of our country are feeling proud today.
  • He said that it is a matter of great fortune for me that today I have come to Uttarakhand on this important day.  Haryana and Uttarakhand share a similar culture. He said that soldiers sacrifice their lives so that the people of the country live in peace.
  • Chandigarh, September 29: Describing Surgical Strike day as the Parakram Parv in true spirits, the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that our valiant soldiers safeguard the frontiers of the country  so that we can live peacefully.
  • The Chief Minister said this while addressing the gathering at the State level celebrations at Jhajjar today to mark the second anniversary of the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army across the LoC on September 29, 2016. Particularly referring the sacrifices of the brave soldiers of our country, the Chief Minister said, “Unke hauslae ka bhugtaan kya karega koi, Unki shahaadat ka karz desh par udhar hai, Aap aur hum isliye khushhaal hain,Kyunki seema par sainik shahaadat ko taiyaar hai”.
  • The Chief Minister describing Haryana as Veerbhumi said that the State is covering 1.3 percent of the total geographical area of the country but  10 to 11 per cent of the soldiers in the Army belong to Haryana which is a matter of pride. The values of sacrifice for the Nation are inculcated right from the beginning during the social and mental development of the children. Our youth join the Army to serve and sacrifice their lives for the Nation, he added.
  • The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, the morale of Indian Army is constantly increasing.
  • He said that there are 19 lakh families of ex-servicemen in Haryana and our Government is always committed for the welfare of all these families. 225 dependents of martyrs have been given Government jobs on compassionate grounds in the State. Besides this, the  ex-gratia amount given to the family of armed forces personnel who sacrifice their lives for the country had been increased from Rs 20 lakh  to Rs 50 lakh. And for the welfare of ex-servicemen, the Sainik Board has been given the status of a department.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister presented shawl and memento to the gallantry awardees. 
  • On this occasion, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar said that our Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi had fulfilled the decades long pending demand of “one rank one pension” of Army Personnel. Mr Dhankar said that it is a matter of pride that Gaurav Patt depicting the names of those who sacrificed their lives for the Nation are being set up in the villages of the State.
  • Chandigarh, September 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal inaugurated Parakram Parv exhibition organised by the Army, at Government Post Graduate Nehru College, Jhajjar today to mark the second anniversary of the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army across the LoC on September 29. Modern and specific weapons used during Military operations were exhibited by the Army in this exhibition.
  • Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mr O.P. Dhankar also visited the military exhibition. Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister thanked the officers of the Army for organizing such an impressive exhibition for apprising the common men, especially the youth about the military activities.
  • The Army band welcomed the Chief Minister and salute was given by NCC cadets on this occasion. The Army band remained the centre of attraction for everyone who visited this exhibition. 
  • Military officers, Mr J.S. Sayal and Col. Baljit Singh and other officers apprised the people about the exhibition. Col Baljit Singh said that during the war, the Military band plays very important role in enhancing the zeal of soldiers. It is also played on Military parade, gallantry shows and during battles on the battlefield of war, etc. On all these occasions, the Army band leads the country with the melodious tunes of patriotism. Various cultural and patriotic programs were also organised at Government Post Graduate Nehru College at Jhajjar by the students and the cultural team of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
