  • Chandigarh, Oct 5 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar said that two-day conference of World Union of Wholesale Market (WUWM) would be held at Gurugram on October 11 and 12, 2018. As many as 61 representatives of 16 countries, representatives of embassies of 19 countries and 34 representatives of 17 states of India would participate in this conference.
  • Mr. Dhankar, who was addressing a press conference in this regard at Gurugram today, said that big mandis and markets are located across the world and the experiences of operating these markets would be shared in this conference.
  • He said that this is for the first time a conference of WUWM is being organised in India and that too in Gurugram of Haryana. He said that Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board is the Member of WUWM.
  • The Minister said that the Members of WUWM would start arriving on October 10 and the conference would be inaugurated by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mr. Radha Mohan Singh at 9 a.m. on October 11. He said that the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Gen. (Retd.) V.K. Singh would be present in the concluding ceremony on October 12. During this visit, the Members of WUWM would visit Azadpur Mandi of Delhi and Ganaur Mandi of Sonipat besides visiting Jaipur and Agra.
  • Others present on the occasion included International Relations In Charge, Rungis Market, France, Ms. Eugenia, Director, WUWM Conference, Dr. J.S. Yadav, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Mrs. Navraj Sandhu and other senior officers of the State Government.
  • Chandigarh, October 5 – Motilal Nehru Sports School, Rai, has invited applications from excellent sports persons for admission in class IV and higher classes for the Academic Session 2019-20 by October 30.
  • While giving the details, an official spokesman said that in class IV 100 students, including 50 girls and 50 boys would be enrolled on merit basis. Out of these, 80 per cent seats are reserved for the students of Haryana while 20 per cent seats are reserved for the students of other states. The date of birth of students taking admission in Class IV should be born between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2011.
  • He said that five girls and boys on the basis of their outstanding performance in sports would be given admission in higher classes. The age of such students should be between 8 to 18 years of age and they should have achieved position in national level sports events.
  • He said that the application book is available on the website of the school. http://www.mnssrai.com/ . The physical test for admission would be conducted from January 21 to January 25, 2019 at Motilal Nehru Sports School and the written examination would be held on February 17, 2019 at the school premises.
  • Chandigarh, October 5 – The Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Mrs Keshni Anand Arora today directed the concerned officers to ensure that the work of drainage of rain water in Jhajjar district should be completed by October 31 so that the farmers do not face any problem in sowing during Rabi Season. If need be, then additional resources would also be made available for this work.
  • Mrs Arora along with Principal Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Mr Anurag Rastogiinspected the arrangements made by district administration, regarding water drainage in Jhajjar today.
  • While expressing her satisfaction on the arrangements made by administration, Mrs Arora said that the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal is quiet sensitive towards the problems of farmers. Further in this situation, Irrigation, Power, Revenue and Development and Panchayat departments should work in coordination with the participation of farmers, village panchayats, so as to accelerate the water drainage work.  
  • She said that immediate relief to the farmers should be the priority of the administration in such situations and a special action plan should be prepared for finding permanent solution to this problem.
  • Mr Anurag Rastogi said that as many as 204 pumps sets have been installed for water drainage in the district, which are working round the clock.
  • Mrs Arora also visited the villages of District Charkhi Dadri.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 5 – Haryana Forests Minister, Rao Narbir Singh called upon the people to strive for keeping this world free from plastics and polythene to preserve environment and wildlife.
  • Rao Narbir Singh was speaking after inaugurating the State Level Wildlife Week celebration at Masani Barrage in district Rewari today.
  • Highlighting the importance of wildlife, he reminded that in the past, large herd of black buck found in Rewari area, the number of which has reduced significantly with the time on account of rapid urbanization of this area. He stressed that endangered species like black buck must be protected and preserved. He further emphasized that species like vultures should not only be bred in captivity, but should also be protected so as to save environment as they are natural scavengers.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wild Life) cum Chief Wild Life Warden, Haryana, Mr. Satya Bhan urged the school children to be the torch bearers in the field of protection of wildlife as they are complementary to human beings.
  • MLA Rewari, Mr. Randhir Singh Kapriwas also spoke on this occasion.
  • The occasion was marked by an array of events beginning with the ceremonial plantations by the Minister and other dignitaries. The Minister inaugurated a Furniture Unit and Nature Interpretation Centre developed by Haryana Forest Development Corporation, and inspected an exhibition of Photographs on Wild Life.
  • Rao Narbir Singh also inspected a stall of handicraft manufactured by Women Group of Bhindawas using water hyacinth as raw material. These women have been imparted training for this purpose by Wild Life Wing of Forest Department in collaboration with NGO ‘Earthwatch’. He was very impressed with the products prepared by the women.
  • The Minister also gave away prizes and certificates to school children who excelled in wildlife painting, quiz and other activities organized by the Department as prelude to Wild Life Week Celebrations. Staff and officers of Wild Life Wing who have contributed significantly and under emergent situation to save the wildlife in the state were also felicitated by the Minister.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 5 – Haryana Government has ordered that Narhari Singh Bangar, Additional Managing Director, HSIIDC and OSD, Kundli Manesar Palwal Authority would look after the work of Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial Infrastructural Development Corporation in addition to his present duties, during training period of T.L. Satyaprakash.
  • Chandigarh, October 5 - Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel today inaugurated Center of Excellence - Internet of Things (CoE-IoT) in Gurugram. This centre is part of Hartron Multi Skills Development Center located in Udyog Vihar in Gurugram. It has been set up jointly by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, Haryana Government and NASSCOM, on Public Private Partnership mode.
  • While addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Centre,  Mr Goel said that after  Bengaluru, Gurugram district has become the second place in the country where this kind of center has been opened. He said that with emerging technological innovations, these kind of centres are required in the country as this would help in resolving of problems of different areas.  Besides this, it would also help in supporting new start-ups.
  • He said that with the technological revolution happened in the last four years, there is huge shift in the mindsets of people worldwide, realizing immense potential of employment in India.  He said that the youth of IT sector today is dominated by more than 200 cities and around 90 countries. Gurugram being the hub of about 1,500 startups, has 10 to 15 per cent growth every year. Thus, this kind of centre would prove to be very beneficial for the people here and would yield good results, he added.
  • The Minister thanked the office bearers of NASSCOM for opening such a centre in district Gurugram. This centre would benefit all stakeholders working in IT sector and government sector. With the help of this centre, work could be done on innovative ideas so that various issues such as pollution and traffic management could be managed through software. This centre would help in taking further the Start-Up Vision, he added.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Mr. Ajay Prakash Sawhney said that the importance of such a centre increases significantly in Gurugram where companies of different sectors are in abundance. Through this centre, new IT techniques could be used to deal with various issues. Today, there are several issues in each sector in the country which needs to be resolved in a creative manner. In this centre, work would be done with both IT and innovation, he added.
  • Secretary, Haryana Electronics and Information Technology and Managing Director, HARTRON, Mr. Vijayendra Kumar said that the Government of India had approved the project in August 2017. The project is worth Rs 22 crore of which Rs nine crore has been borne by the Haryana Government.
  • President, NASSCOM, Mr. Debjani Ghosh and Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Mr. Gopalakrishnan also spoke on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh, October 5 – Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya said that the state government has created Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department for the welfare of soldiers and ex-servicemen of Indian Army and Paramilitary forces.
  • The Governor was interacting with the Chief of Staff Western Command, ChandiMandir Headquarters, Lieutenant General, P.M. Bali, here today. The Director, Civil and Military Affairs, Western Command, Col. Jasdeep Sindhu was also present on the occasion.
  • Mr Arya said that better cooperation between civilians and Army strengthen the faith of people and they feel secure. Over a dozen welfare schemes are being run by Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department.
  • He said that the state government has enhanced the ex-gratia grant given to family members of the armed forces personnel who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty, from Rs.20 lakh to Rs.50 lakh. “This is historic decision taken by the state government,” he added.
  • He said that state government is providing jobs to the dependents of martyr soldiers on compassionate grounds. He said that a war memorial is being set up in Ambala on 22 acre area in the memory of martyrs of India's first freedom struggle in 1857.
  • Lt Gen P.M Bali said that the schemes initiated by the state government has raises the morale of soldiers and their families. The State Government is also going to appoint District Welfare Officers at every district headquarters of the state. This would solve the problems of soldiers and ex-servicemen, added Lt Gen. Bali.
  • President, Shri Jairam Vidyapeeth Institutions, Brahm Swaroop Brahamchari Ji, also met the Governor and informed him about activities being run by the institutions. Jairam Vidyapeeth Institutions are working in education as well as social sector.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 5 – Crime Investigation Agency of Haryana Police have arrested four persons on the charges of possessing illegal weapons from different locations in district Rohtak. Police have also recovered four country made pistols, live cartridges and a stolen motorcycle from them.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that based on a tip-off, a police team arrested Hari Parkash, a resident of Janta Colony, Rohtak from Arya Nagar area alongwith illegal pistol. Similarly, Police have also arrested Parveen, a resident of district Jhajjar and Lokesh alias Kali of Nehru Colony Rohtak from within the city police station limits, and Ritik of village Rohna, district Sonipat from Urban estate area.
  • All of them, arrested with illegal country made pistols, have a criminal record and have cases of snatching, loot and vehicle theft registered against them. They were roaming to commit an incident of crime. A case has been registered against them and further investigation was under progress.
  • Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu appreciated the efforts being made by Rohtak Police for their relentless efforts for nabbing the criminals.
  • Chandigarh, October 5 : Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma joined the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court Mr Justice Suryakant at Shimla in Himachal Pradesh today.
  • Mr Sharma also met Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Mr Jairam Thakur and Education Minister Mr Suresh Bhardwaj. Many senior ministers of the Himachal Government also welcomed the Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma.
  • Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that during this interaction, the Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh appreciated Haryana's education policy. Besides this he had also shown interest in knowing about Haryana’s online transfer policy of teachers, Joyful Saturday, Super-100 and quiz questions prepared for the school children and other initiatives being taken by the Haryana Education Sector.
  • Mr Sharma said that he is happy to know that extraordinary work and improvements being done by the present Government in education sector in Haryana, during last four years are being appreciated by the whole country.
  • Chandigarh, October 5 – Shri Krishna Ayush University, Kurukshetra has invited applications for admission in the Regular Course of Diploma in Pharmacy Ayurveda in Shri Krishna  Ayurvedic College and Hospital  of the state for the year 2018-19. The last date for sending the application is October 23, 2018.
  • The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr Baldev Kumar said that the brochure could be obtained from the university campus or by mail. In this regard, counseling and interview will be done by October 30.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 5 – Continuing action against those involved in smuggling of illegal liquor, Haryana Police have seized 1200 boxes (14,400 bottles) of country-made liquor from a vehicle in Narwana town of district Jind. Police have also arrested one person in this connection.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused had been identified as Jagbir, a resident of village Danoda Khurd.
  • He said that police team received a tip-off that a canter carrying illegal liquor was parked at village Belarkhan in Narwana town. Acting swiftly, police immediately rushed to the spot and impounded the vehicle. When searched, 1200 boxes of country made liquor were seized from it. The accused was arrested and an investigation is underway to find out the source of seized liquor and where it was to be sold.
