  • Chandigarh, Oct 11 – In view of the admissions and counselling of BAMS, BHMS and D-Pharma, the Vice-Chancellor of Shri Krishna Ayush University, Kurukshetra, Dr. Baldev Kumar has cancelled the holidays of all teaching and non-teaching staff of the university and colleges till October 31 so that the candidates and their parents may not face any inconvenience during admission process.
  • While stating this today, Registrar, Dr. Krishan Jatian said that there orders would remain effective till October 31 or completion of admission process. During this period, no principal, officer or employee would be allowed casual leave or station leave.
  • He said that online registration facility for admissions to BAMS and BHMS has been started on website www.skau.in and webportal hrybamsadmissions.in up to October 15. The merit list would be prepared by October 17 and counselling for first and second phase would be held on October 19 and 20. Apart from this, candidates can apply for admission to regular course of D-Pharma in Shri Krishna Ayurvedic College and Hospital up to October 23. The counselling and interview would be held on October 30. The prospectus for D-Pharma could be obtained by personally visiting the University campus or through post.
  • He said that admission process has been started in 13 colleges under Shri Krishna Ayush University. For this, National Eligibility Entrance Test qualified candidates can apply. These colleges included Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra, National College of Ayurveds Barwala, Gangaputra Ayurvedic College Jind, Chaudhary Devi Lal College of Ayurveda Rohtak, MLR Ayurvedic College Charkhi Dadri, Chaudhary Devi Lal College of Ayurveda Jagadhari, Ayujyoti Ayurvedic College Sirsa, LBSM Ayurveda College Yamunanagar, MSM Institute of Ayurveda BPS Khanpur Kalan, J.R.K Homeopathic College Rohtak, Baba Mast Nath Ayurvedic College Asthal Bohar, Faculty of Indian Medical System, Chandu Budhera Gurugram and Dhanwantri Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Chandigarh.
  • Chandigarh, October 11- With a view to doubling the farmers’ income, it is the priority of the Government of India that farmers get better prices of their produce. For this Government has taken historic decisions such as providing 1.5 times more price of the cultivation cost borne by the farmers and providing e-NAM (National Agriculture Market) platform to ensure better prices of their produce.
  •  This was stated by the Chairman of the Committee on Doubling the Farmers Income and CEO of the National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), Dr. Ashok Dalwai in World Union of Wholesale Markets Conference in Gurugram today.
  • He said that two years ago, e-NAM was implemented in the country for farmers to enable them in selling their produce at competitive prices in any of the connected Mandis. This proved to be a success as business of more than Rs 50,000 crore has so far been done through this e-NAM platform. He said that more than 1.19 crore farmers, 1.18 lakh traders, more than 66,000 commission agents and 383 Farmer Producer Organisations of 20 states were connected with e-NAM platform.  As many as 585 mandis and 90 commodities have been registered on e-NAM platform, he added.
  • Appreciating the efforts of Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar, Dr. Dalwai said that 54 mandis of Haryana have been linked with e-NAM. With the setting up of e-NAM, single point levy market fee, e-trading and unified license have come into trend, which is valid in all mandis.
  • CEO, National Center for Cold Chain Development formed by Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Dr. Pawanexh Kohli said that in order to promote cold storage units in the country, arrangements are being made to simplify rules and grant subsidy. It is the need of hour to have good cold storage to stop wastage of fruits, vegetables and food grains, and to ensure that these products reached to the world market. Apart from this, packaging, labelling and transportation system were also being improved, he added.
  • Dr. Pawanexh said that by utilising the e-NAM platform, the farmers of Haryana have been able to sell items such as American cotton, bajra, rice, wheat, potato and jaggery at highest prices prevailing in the market.
  • On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Science, Hisar, Dr. Gurdial Singh presented mementos to officers of Government of India.
  • Chandigarh, October 11: Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that the process for the promotion of all posts of School Education Department  would be expedited.
  • Mr Sharma gave this information  during his meeting with the officials of the Haryana Education Department Employees Co-ordination Committee. On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Mrs Dheera Khandelwal, Director Elementary Education, Mr Rajnarayan Kaushik were also present.
  • Education Minister said that the State Government gives priority to resolve the problems of employees and fulfilling their demands. He said that recently, about 2,000 various officials of the School Education Department have been promoted and directions have been given to promote the rest of the employees. He said that during the last four years, the ACP of 9,000 employees which was pending in the education department has been  given. He said that not even a single guest teacher has been removed from his post by the present Government in fact their pay scale has been increased.
  • On this occasion, the officials of Haryana Education Department Employees Coordination Committee and representatives of Haryana State Teachers union were also present.
  • Chandigarh, October 11: Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that setting up of RailCoach Refurbishing and Rehabilitation Factory in Barhi district Sonepat would provide employment to 10,000 youth of the State. This factory would be  developed over an area of 163 acres.
  • Mr Vij said that Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for this RailCoach Refurbishing and Rehabilitation Factory and the construction work would soon be started. He said that the present Government completes all the projects launched by it unlike opposition, which only announces the projects.  He said that only announcements do not provide any employment to the youth instead the completion of projects provides employment.
  • Chandigarh, October 11- Information Technology (IT) has an important role in envisaging the concept of inter-market, inter-state market and Inland market which helps in online inspection, inventory and monitoring system.
  • These views were expressed by the Director, World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM), Dr J.S Yadav, while speaking in a session with topic- ‘Market Reforms: Experience and Future Challenges’ in World Union of Wholesale Markets Conference in Gurugram today. He said that integrated world market system and strategies could not be made a reality without the efficient use of information technology. 
  • Chief Executive Officer, CONNACA, Mexico, Mr Ramiro Cavazos said that his country has 65 small and big supply markets which cater to the need of whole of Mexico. He said that Mexico imports fruits like grapes, Kiwi and apple and export products of cheese and meat. It also supplies 65 per cent agro fisheries.
  • Chief Executive Officer, CAR ScpA, Italy, Mr F.M Pallottini said that economic relations are necessary in agriculture markets and no market can progress without these relations.
  • Expressing his views, Chief Executive Officer, MERCABARNA, Spain Mr. J. Tejedo said that wholesale market would have to adopt digitalisation and Information Technology. He said that during last few years, companies such as Microsoft, Apple and Amazon had captured the market by adopting online system and digitalisation, and became world leaders. He said that in the coming times, artificial intelligence would have to be adopted so that all errors could be resolved automatically. He said that the operators of markets would have to remain prepared for future challenges.

  • Chandigarh, October 11: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mr. Parshottam Rupala emphasized the need of adopting international marketing strategies by the farmers and said that linking of national agriculture market with World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) would contribute significantly in development and welfare of farming community.
  • Mr Rupala was speaking on the occasion of inauguration of two-day 32nd World Conference of World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) being organized in Gurugram today. Delegates from a total of 19 countries from five continents, Embassies and diplomatic officers from 16 countries and over 50 Indian delegates from different State Agricultural Marketing Boards of India are participating in this conference.
  • While describing the WUWM conference as an important step towards the progress of farmers, Mr Rupala said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, various steps are being taken by the Central Government for enhancing the productivity as well income of the farmers. He said that it is for the time in the history of the country that a conference of wholesale market has been organized in india keeping in view the interest of farmers adding that such type of conferences would prove to be milestone in realizing Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi’s vision of building a new India.
  • Mr Rupala said that farmers would be made more resourceful through linking of e-NAM (National Agriculture Market) system with WUWM. Appreciating the Haryana Government especially Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Mr O.P Dhankar, he said that Haryana is the first state in the country to implement Bhavantar Bharpai Yojna for the benefit of farmers by using digital technology which clearly reflects the pro-farmer approach of the present State Government.
  • He said that the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi’s ambition is to ensure that the farmers get remunerative prices of their produce through linking of e-NAM system with International Trade Forums. He said that the suggestions received in the two-day conference here would go a long way in taking concrete decisions in the interest of farming community. Today Haryana is producing rice more than the prescribed quantities of international standards, which is a significant achievement but there is a need to link it with international trade markets, he added.   
  • Speaking on this occasion, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Mr O.P Dhankar said that modern mandis of international standards were being set up in the State for the prosperity of farmers. He said that a flower mandi would be set up in Gurugram with the collaboration of International Flora market of Rio-De-Janerio. Apart from this, an apple market was being set up in Pinjore. He said that a huge market was also being developed in Gannaur, district Sonipat over 600 acre of land.
  • Mr Dhankar said that this two-day conference has been organized for detailed deliberations on the improvement of wholesale markets. He said that persistent efforts were being made by the present State Government  to safeguard the interests of farmers. He said that Bhavantar Bharpai Yojna implemented by the State Government is being emulated by other states also. He said the scheme has been linked with digital technique so as to ensure that the benefit of scheme reached to the actual beneficiaries without the interference of middlemen.

  • Chandigarh, October 11: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O. P. Dhankar said that the Government is in the process of setting up four big Mandis in the state to facilitate the farmers in selling their produce at remunerative prices. Out of these, work of setting up 600 acres Ganuar Mandi in district Sonepat is in progress. Besides this, a flower market in Gurugram would be established with the co-ordination of international flower market, Rio de Janeiro to cater the demand of flowers for NCR region. Similarly, a Masala mandi would be set up in  Sonepat and an apple Mandi  would be set up in 250 acres at Pinjore.
  • Mr Dhankar gave this information while addressing the media persons after the inauguration session of 32nd World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) Conference at Gurugram today.  He said that world level conference is organised for the  first time in our country which would help in taking  progressive decisions in the interest of farmers and the consumers.  Mr Dhankar said that 19 countries are participating directly in this conference including representatives from China, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Serbia, America etc. besides representatives of Embassies of various countries. In addition, representatives from Indian states including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Orissa, Goa, Jammu Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand  and Haryana are participating in this world level conference.
  • Talking about  strengthening the Mandis, Mr  Dhankar said that modernizing the big Mandis of the country would be  deliberated in detail  in this conference. Sharing his experiences of various big mandis, Mr Dhankar said that he visited the Beijing market  developed in 1000 acres,  Rungis market and Rio de Janeiro market which also enhanced the knowledge of delegation of the  department  who accompanied him during these visits on how  to develop the wholesale Mandis in a modern way.
  • Mr Dhankar said that in the field of agriculture, wholesale mandis serve as a link between farmers and the consumers and modernizing the wholesale Mandis would be beneficial in the interest of the farmers as well as consumers.  He said that at present,  huge market is available and we have to  expedite  the  availability of products to them. He said that farmers in Europe are able to sell their products directly to the consumers,  similarly we need to find out solutions to enable common man in India to easily sell his products directly to consumers. Presently, people in India are facing numerous challenges  in selling their produce and we have to move forward by overcoming these challenges, he added.
  •  Mr Dhankar said that several initiatives are needed to be taken including steps for minimizing the agricultural wastes and   improving the quality of fruits and vegetables. He said that since the WUWM conference is being organised here, it  was decided in the WUWM  Board meeting yesterday evening that now WUWM would focus on developing big markets or mandis in Asia continent. He said that we should not only focus on adopting  modern techniques like developing cold chain system, but also take care of the farmer's interest.  He said that a  market of about  Rs. 2000 crore is flourishing on expressways in Haryana but these are unorganized and the fruits are sold unpacked whereas in Himachal Pradesh, the farmer's sell their produce after packaging them. Besides this five new cities would be developed under Panchgram Yojna on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal express way (KMP) Express way, which would increase the possibility of more such market opportunities. 
  • Mr Dhankar said that we should develop the Mandis according to our requirements and situations, and should not follow other Markets of the world. So we would adopt only those suggestions of this conference which would be suitable to  our market situations.  He said that the representatives would also be taken for a study tour for various works under the e-NAM (Electronic-National Agricultural Market).
  • Chairman, WUWM, Mr. Zengjun Ma said that India and China are neighbouring countries and he has visited India for the first time. He said that the wholesale markets of America, Europe and Japan are modern whereas markets of China and India were still lagging behind. He said that the Haryana Government and Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar have provided a great platform to people who are working in wholesale market. This would benefit farmers and consumers of Haryana, he added.
  • Mr. Zengjun Ma expressed hope that after this conference, the wholesale market in India would be upgraded.
  • Director, WUWM, Dr J.S. Yadav said that there are two types of wholesale markets in the world. On one hand, there are markets of Europe and on the other hand, there are markets of Asia, but both have different conditions. He said that the Board of WUWM has decided that the developed wholesale markets would assist the undeveloped wholesale markets in Asia in next five years. He said that experiences of mandis in different areas are varied but we should keep the farmers interest on top. Similarly, the reforms of mandis should also be done keeping in view the law of the land.
  • Replying to a question, Mr. Yadav said that keeping in view the challenges of next five years, emphasis would be laid on stability of the market so that markets should not only become source of income, but interests of farmers should also get priority. He said that a law pertaining to food safety, sanitation and food items would be got enacted and implemented in China by 2020. Similarly, India has a lot to do in this direction, he added.
  • Others present on the occasion included Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister, Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, Odisha Cooperation Minister, Mr. Surya Narayan Patro, Chairperson, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Mr. Krishna Gahlawat,  Additional Chief Secretary,  Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Haryana Mrs. Navraj Sandhu and other senior officers and dignitaries.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 11– In Haryana, paddy straw burning cases have reduced considerably during the current paddy harvesting season. Till October 10, 2018, crop had been harvested on 4.01 lakh hectares and there had been arrival of 20 lakh tonnes of paddy in the various mandis of the State. As per satellite data furnished by HARSAC, there had been burning of paddy stubble only at 459 places involving an area of 735 hectares. This was less than one per cent of the total area where harvesting had taken place.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that these positive results were the outcome of the massive information and education campaign undertaken by the various Government agencies. The Deputy Commissioners and the Sub Divisional Magistrates were directly involved in the village to village campaign. The State Government had already spent Rs. 98 crore during the current year on provision of subsidy to the farmers for purchase of agriculture implements. As many as 857 Custom Hiring Centres had been established and 2,867 farmers had also been subsidized for purchase of agriculture implements.
  • The spokesman said that the farmers of Haryana fully understood the adverse impact of paddy straw burning on the environment and had behaved in a responsible manner. It may be noted that paddy is sown on 13 lakh hectares in Haryana, the maximum area being in the districts of Karnal, Kaithal, Jind, Kurukshetra and Fatehabad.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 11 – J.C. Bose (erstwhile YMCA) University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad has announced the schedule for Students’ Elections to form the University Executive Students’ Council for the Academic Year 2018-19 and appointed Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Naresh Chauhan as University Election Officer to ensure smooth conduct of election. The election would be held on October 17, 2018.
  • The University today adopted the recommendations of the committee headed by Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of GJUST, Hisar to conduct students’ elections in its Executive Council meeting. It may be noted that the Students’ Elections in the Universities and Colleges of Haryana are being conducted after a gap of 22 years. The University is making all arrangements for the conduct of peaceful, transparent and fair elections.
  • Congratulating the students on the first election of Students’ Council in the University, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Kumar said the students’ election provides an opportunity for students to engage in a structured partnership with University administration for the development and academic growth of the University. It is an opportunity for students to discuss, debate, argue and dialogue over ideas which develops their leadership skills. He urged the students to actively participate in the election process and to follow the code of conduct and guidelines in letter and spirit. He also appealed them to contribute in maintaining a peaceful and academic environment in the campus during the elections.
  • The University Executive Students’ Council will consist of four office bearers and five members. The posts of Council include one President, one Vice President, one Secretary and one Joint Secretary. The University has reserved the post of Joint Secretary for Girl Candidate to be elected by the way of draw of lottery. The five members of the Students’ Council will be elected from different faculties which include two members from Faculty of Engineering and Technology, one each from Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, Faculty of Management and Faculty of Informatics and Computing. One member of the Students’ Council as SC representative will be nominated by the DSW.
  • The University has also notified and issued schedule of election. As per the schedule, nominations are invited from eligible students for Class Representatives on October 12, 2018 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for which students can obtain nomination form from the office of their respective Chairpersons and submit it in the same office. The scrutiny of nomination forms would also be done on the same day. The University would display the list of nominated candidates on October 12 at 5 p.m. The objections in respect to the nominations can be filed on October 13, 2018 up to 10 a.m. The nominated candidates would be permitted for withdrawal of candidature up to 12:00 noon on the same day and the final list of candidates would be displayed at 4 p.m. The election of Class Representatives will be conducted in their respective departments on October 17 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The counting of votes will be held on the same day and result would be declared at 1 p.m.
  • After the election of Class Representatives, election of office bearers and members of Executive Committee of the Students’ Council will be held on October 17, 2018 in the Multimedia Centre of the University for which elected Class Representatives can file their nominations for various posts between 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. After scrutinising nomination forms, the candidates will be given time to withdraw their candidature, if any, and thereafter, list of final candidates will be displayed on the same day at 3:30 pm. The voting will be held between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm on October 17, 2018. Immediately after completion of polling, the counting will be initiated and result will be declared by 5:45 pm.
  • While giving further information, Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Naresh Chauhan said that the students, who are willing to contest the election, have to comply with the code of conduct, eligibility criteria and other guidelines and procedures given in the recommendation of the Tankeshwar Committee, which is also available on the University websitewww.ymcaust.ac.in.
  • He said that the University has taken a preventive measure to ensure discipline and smooth conduct of election process. The University has imposed complete ban on the entry of outsiders and unauthorized vehicles in the premises. The University has asked the district police administration to deploy sufficient police personnel in the University till the completion of entire election process. Directions have also been issued to ensure the proper functioning of CCTV cameras installed in the University and recording of cameras will also be preserved, he added.
  • Chandigarh, October 11: Haryana Government announced two per cent increase in Dearness Relief (DR) for State Government pensioners and family pensioners on revised pension (7th Pay Commission) with effect from July 1, 2018, thus raising the DR on the pattern of Central Government employees from existing seven per cent to nine per cent.
  • Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu today said that this enhancement would have an additional financial burden of about Rs 92.64 crore on the state exchequer for 8 months from July 2018 to February 2019 in the financial year 2018-19.
  • Chandigarh, October 11 : Haryana Government has placed the services of Sudhanshu Gautam, HCS, Joint Director (Admn.) and Deputy Secretary, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Haryana and Additional Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation at the disposal of Chandigarh Administration with immediate effect.
