  • Chandigarh, October 14--The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today announced a slew on incentives for Numberdars to enable them to discharge their duties effectively and efficiently. These include doubling the monthly honorarium besides providing them mobile phones and bringing them under the cover of Ayushman Bharat Yojna.
  • Making these announcements at the state-level Numberdar Sammelan organised at Mahavir Stadium in Hisar today, the Chief Minister said Numberdars would now get an honorarium of Rs 3,000 instead of Rs 1,500 per month, and it would be directly deposited in their accounts.
  •  Numbardars from all over the state attended the conference. They honored the Chief Minister, the Finance Minister, Captain Abhimanyu, Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, and Chairman, Haryana Bureau of Public Enterprises, Dr Kamal Gupta, by presenting them with a doga and shawl.
  • The Chief Minister said the previous governments neither gave Numberdars due honour nor paid them according to their status. In order to enable them to have better communication facility, Numberdars would also be provided with a mobile phone. Necessary directions have been given to the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, he added.
  • Numberdars would also be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna on a par with the families identified by the Socio-Economic and Caste Census and given health insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh annually. For the convenience of people and Numberdars, the remand powers of revenue officers in the cases pertaining to revenue have been withdrawn, he said.
  • The Chief Minister said once in three months, a training programme would be organised for Numberdars to make them aware and update them with new policies, rights and their duties. At every Tehsil head office, list of Jamabandi Nakal related to the respective Tehsil has been provided online to avoid the farmers any hassles.
  • Mr Manohar Lal said Haryana is the first state to give a transformed look to the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) besides decentralizing powers by constituting an Inter District Council.  Today, representatives of PRIs and Urban Local Bodies in the state are well educated and this has helped in accelerating the pace of development.
  • Haryana has bagged first rank and has been awarded under Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018. Providing accountable and transparent governance is our priority. The Revenue Department work has been made online to avoid wastage of time and money and to put a curb on corruption, he added.
  • The Chief Minister said in 2014, Chakbandi of 100 villages was pending out of which work in 50 villages has been completed. And on the suggestion of panchayats, Chakbandi may also be done again in the villages where it was done long back. The government has kept the target of zero inteqal.  Four years ago there were 4 lakh inteqals pending in the state but now only 20,000 cases are pending. These cases pertain to the disputes which would be scrutinized at government level, he added.
  • The Chief Minister said work on e-Khasra Girdawri had also been started through e-Tab for the Kharif crops 2018 under which Nakal Khasra Girdawri would be provided online. He called upon the Numberdars to work dedicatedly in their respective areas and perform their duty responsibly. They should make people aware about the welfare schemes implemented by the state government so that the benefits could percolate down to the last man standing in the queue.
  • Expressing concern over pollution, he said this problem aggregated with the burning of straw in the fields. He urged Numberdars to make the farmers aware about the adverse affects of straw-burning to curb this practice. Now almost all families in Haryana have gas connection. However, in case anybody is left out Numberdars should play a role in providing them connections.
  • Speaking on the occasion, the Finance and Revenue Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, said Numberdars played an important role in serving as a link between the government and the people. With the passage of time and advancement of technology, working of the Revenue Department has undergone a big change.  Even though most of the work is done online, the status of Numberdars remains relevant and the government is committed to further strengthening this institution. They should come forward and join the government in providing a transparent an answerable administration to the people of the state, he added.
  • Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, said the numberdars have a huge role to play in the revenue and disaster management work in the rural areas. The Additional Chief Secretary,  Revenue and Disaster Management Department  Mrs Keshni Anand  Arora also spoke on the occasion.
  • Chandigarh, October 14:   Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister,  Mr Anil Vij said that a state level ‘Khel Mahakumbh’  would be organised from October 23 to October 25 in which about 7500 sportspersons from the State would participate in 15 international-sports competitions.
  • Mr Vij said that all these 15 international-sports competitions would be organised in the districts of Ambala, Panchkula, Karnal, Rohtak, Gurugram, Bhiwani and Hisar. About 3800 men and 3700 women sportspersons would take part in these competitions. Before this Mahakumbh, district level competitions would be organised in the districts and the winners of these district level competitions would then participate in this state level event.
  • Mr Vij said that this khel Mahakumbh would play an important role in encouraging and refining the talent from villages. The events would include competitions of Gymnastics and Badminton in district Ambala, Athletics and Table Tennis in district Panchkula, Volley Ball and Judo in district Karnal, Hockey and Wrestling in district Rohtak, Boxing and Kabbadi in district Bhiwani, Handball, Archery and Tennis in district Gurugram, Football and Basketball in district Hisar.
  • Mr Vij said that various sports instructors, officers and employees have been deputed at all the competition venues of the State so as to conduct the Games successfully. For this the officials have been directed to reach their venues by October 22, the Minister added.
  • Chandigarh, October 14: With a view of adopting certain hygienic practices, Shri Krishna AYUSH University, Kurukshetra will celebrate Global Handwashing Day (GHD) on October 15 under ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign in which the Professors, staff and students of the university will also participate.
  • The event would be organised in the university premises on the directions of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr Baldev Kumar. On this occasion the employees and students would be made aware about correct hand-washing procedures and its benefits.  The professors have been deputed in different classes for this purpose.
  • While giving details, Reader of the University, Dr. Rajendra Chaudhary said that besides this Swachhta Pakhwada would also be orgainised under Swachh Bharat Mission from October 16 to October 30 in the university campus with focus on keeping the premises of the university, hospital and classes clean. For this various activities would be carried out with participation of all the staff and students of the university.
