  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – In Haryana, a target has been set to impart training to about 10,850 youth under the State Action Plan of Deen Dayal Upadhaya – Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY). Apart from this, Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission (HSRLM) will be implemented in 32 more blocks in 2018-19. Now, the HSRLM will cover 100 blocks of the state.
  • This was informed during the 6th meeting of the Executive Committee of “The Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission” held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Mr D.S. Dhesi, here today.
  • It was informed during the meeting that DDU-GKY is being implemented by the HSRLM to provide training and placement to the youth in the state. Under this scheme, training is being imparted free of cost to rural youth belonging to the poor families. In order to provide training to youth, 14 training centres would be established and 1,535 youths have been imparted training by May 2018.
  • In the Annual Action Plan of DDU-GKY, the Central Government has fixed a target of imparting training to about 32,687 youth in the state in three years. So far, about 26,117 youth have been imparted training through HSRLM, of which 11,153 youth have got placement.
  • It was informed that in year 2018-19, the activities of National Rural Livelihoods Mission would be carried out in all the blocks and all Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana-Gram Panchayats of district Nuh, to implement Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission in 32 more Blocks. Now 100 blocks of HSRLM will be covered.
  • It was also informed that a target has been set to form 15,000 Self Help Groups (SHGs), 800 Village Organizations and link bank credit of 6,000 SHGs with disbursement target of Rs 100 crore.
  • Under National Rural Livelihoods Mission for 2018-19, Behal and Loharu block of Bhiwani, Badli of Jhajjar, Dhand of Kaithal, Punhana and Ferozepur Jhirka of Mewat, Barwala of Hisar, Bhattu, Ratia and Nagpur of Fatehabad, Kunjpura,  Munak, Nissing, Assandh and Nilokheri of Karnal, and Meham block of Rohtak have been included. Similarly, Naraingarh of Ambala, Chhachhrauli and Bilaspur of Yamunanagar, Bawal of Rewari, Hodal and Prithala of Palwal, Ladwa and Pipli of Kurukshetra,  Ateli Nangal and Nangal Chaudhary of Mahendragarh, Rai of Sonepat,  Samalkha, Sanauli Khurd and Bapoli of Panipat, Sohna of Gurgram, Bond and Jojhu of Charkhi Dadri have been included.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that officers and officials of Board of School Education, Haryana, Bhiwani would soon get the benefit of 7th Pay Commission. Apart from this, in future, the students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes studying in government schools would not have to pay board examination fee.
  • The Chief Minister made these announcements while addressing the gathering at the Annual Investiture Ceremony of Haryana School Education Board in Bhiwani today. He also announced that teachers playing significant role in putting a check on use of unfair means cases would be honoured at district level.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma released the Swarna Jayanti Logo of the Board. They also laid foundation stone of Atal Multipurpose Auditorium which has been named after former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Late. Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A sum of Rs 55 crore would be spent on this Auditorium.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said that said that the Board has made concerted efforts to put a check on Unfair Means Cases (UMC) in board examinations. The Chief Minister appreciated the Board for this achievement. He said that the Board also has to conduct HTET examination which it had been conducting with full transparency.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma said that the Atal Multipurpose Auditorium being established in the Board premises would be one of a kind. He said that the Auditorium would have seating capacity of about 2,000 people. He said that there would be no dearth of funds for the education of poor bright students and for this, separate budget provision has been made.
  • Member of Parliament, Mr. Dharambir Singh said that the future of the country and the society depends on children. In this direction, education is must for them. “Only that society and country can progress where children will be educated”, he added.
  • Earlier on this occasion, the Chief Minister presented Dr. Kalpana Chawla Award, Gold medals and Silver medals to 216 brilliant students of government and open schools who have scored first and second position in Xth and ten plus two classes from 2012 to 2018. Apart from this, he also gave cash prizes of Rs 51,000 and Rs 31,000 respectively to medal winning students. As many as 95 schools which have improved quality of education and remained at top were also honoured with trophies. Similarly, the Chief Minister also honoured nine schools, which have played significant role in considerably eliminating UMC cases, with cash prizes of Rs 25,000 each. In the function, Dr. Kalpana Chawla Award was given to 59 girl students, gold medal to 57 students and silver medal to 100 students.
  • Chairman, Haryana Board of School Education, Dr. Jagbir Singh apprised the Chief Minister and Education Minister about the Board’s achievements.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that several steps have been taken to further empower women and to ensure their safety.
  • The Chief Minister was speaking in a function organised to welcome the Mahila Marathon Relay Race organised on the occasion of birth centenary year of Rajmata Viyayaraje Scindia, at Hodal in district Palwal today.
  • He welcomed the Mahila Marathon Relay Race in Haryana and expressed hope that the Marathon would be a success. The Marathon was started from Gwalior Madhya Pradesh on October 12. Thereafter, passing through Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, the Marathon today reached Haryana. He said that Rajmata Viyayaraje Scindia served the society throughout her life and promoted women empowerment. 
  • The Chief Minister said that the daughters of Haryana have excelled at national and international levels in various fields such as sports, education, army and space. In order to ensure safety of women, the State Government has opened Women Police Stations in each district. Earlier, the number of women police personnel was very less, which has been increased considerably by the present State Government. Efforts are being made so that the number of women in police should be increased up to 20 per cent. Earlier, the reporting of crime against women was less in the state, but the present State government provided women a platform where they can file their complaints without any hesitation. The Haryana Government has made provision of capital punishment for those found guilty of raping a girl aged 12 years or below. He said that the government had launched Ujjawala Yojana for women under which free gas connections are being provided to women.
  • Speaking on the occasion, National President, BJP Women Wing, Mrs. Vijaya Rahatkar said that women should get full respect in the society and such mentality should be changed which consider daughters as burden. 
  • BJP State President, Mr. Subhash Barala said that the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal have given a strong leadership to the country and the state, and worked for the welfare of women.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – Haryana Police has arrested a parole jumper convicted in a case of murder, after 14 years from Moga town of Punjab.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that Satpal alias Pala, a resident of village Alipur in Jind, was jailed in connection with a murder case in year 2004. The accused was serving life imprisonment, sentenced by a court. He was on a parole for six weeks on November 5, 2004. However, he had not returned to the jail after completion of his parole on December 18, 2004 and was declared a proclaimed offender.
  • He said that police got secret information that the accused Pala was disguised as a priest in a temple in district Moga. Acting swiftly, a police team arrested him from Moga. The accused was produced in court from where he was sent to judicial custody.

  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – Haryana Government has posted Parminder Rai, Chairman Haryana Police Housing Corporation Ltd., Panchkula as Chairman and Managing Director, Haryana Police Housing Corporation Ltd., Panchkula, with immediate effect.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – Haryana Police have arrested a person with 25 kg ganja, 10 boxes of illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor and a country made pistol in district Faridabad. Also Rs 18.69 lakh in cash was recovered.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused was identified as Jony Narona, a resident of Shivaji Nagar Jhuggi, Sector-22, Mujesar. Police have nabbed the accused during a raid in jhuggi near sector-22 fish market.  
  • During preliminary investigation, arrested accused revealed that his son Lala alias Virender is also involved in this illegal trade of drugs retailing. They used to bring ganja from states like Orissa and Bihar and supply it in retail.
  • A case under NDPS and Excise Act was registered against them at Mujesar Police Station. Efforts were on to arrest Lala alias Virender.
  • In another case, Police have arrested a person on the charges of possessing 20kg chura post being smuggling in a car village Matuwala in district Sirsa. A case under NDPS Act had been registered against the accused and further investigation is under process.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the present State Government has, during its four years tenure has served  the people of the state  focussed with the vision of ‘Sabka Satha-Sabka Vikas’ and  emphasised on fulfilling  all basic necessities. Now, in the fifth year, the government has been making the people aware about these achievements through ‘Swachhta Avm Sadbhavna Pad Yatras’ being organised on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi so that every needy person in the state would get benefitted.
  • The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering at Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra Chowk in Karnal City. Earlier, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra and started the ‘Pad Yatra’ from there.
  • While referring to the achievements of the State Government, he said that under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, housing facility would be provided to all by 2022. He said that about 3.5 lakh such families have been identified in Haryana and their process has been completed. He said that affordable houses are being constructed at various places in the state. Apart from this, Haryana Housing Board would construct 7,000 houses and Urban Local Bodies Department would construct 15,000 houses.
  • He said that Ayushmaan Bharat Yojana has been implemented for providing free treatment facility up to Rs five lakh to poor families. The scheme has been started from Haryana and this would benefit 14.5 lakh families. Now, such families are also being covered under this scheme which are not in BPL list or Census 2011, but are under poor and needy category. He said that free of cost gas connections are being provided to poor families and the State Government has also provided relief to people in power tariff.
  • The Chief Minister said that the State Government has no dearth of funds for public welfare projects. The difference is only of will and policy. The earlier government also had all resources, but it had not taken concrete steps to uplift of people
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said that these ‘Pad Yatras’ are being organised under the leadership of MLAs of concerned constituencies. After completing Pad Yatras in rural areas under first phase, now such yatras are being organised in urban areas under the second phase.
  • The Pad Yatra started from Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra Chowk and passed through Bhagwan Parshuram Chowk, Kunjpura road and concluded at Char Chaman near Shri Sanatan Dharam Mahabir Dal Registered.
  • Others present on the occasion included MLA, Gharaunda and Chairman, HAFED, Mr. Harvinder Kalyan, Chairman, Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills Limited, Mr. Chander Parkash Kathuria, OSD to Chief Minister, Capt. Amarinder Singh, Executive Vice-Chairman, Swachh Bharat Mission, Haryana, Mr. Subhash Chandra, Vice-Chairman, Haryana Keshkala and Kaushal Vikas Board, Mr. Yashpal Thakur and other dignitaries.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Rajesh, Head Constable, posted at Gurugram, red-handed while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 10,000 from Mr. Gaurav, a resident of Heli Mandi, Jhatoli, Tehsil Pataudi, district Gurugram, in lieu of giving him a promissory note for not to transfer complainant’s relative from Bhondsi Jail to Hisar Jail.
  • While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 7 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act at the Bureau’s Police Station in Gurugram. Further investigation of the case is in progress, he added.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 15 – Haryana Government has notified that October 19, 2018 will be observed as Public Holiday on account of Dussehra instead of October 18, 2018, for all government employees posted in government offices, Boards, Corporations and Educational Institutions under the state government.
  • A notification to this effect has been issued by Chief Secretary office today.
  • Chandigarh Oct 15: Haryana  Government will set up ‘State Bhavan’ at ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Complex’ near the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that State Bhavan would facilitate tourists  from Haryana in their visit to the Statue of Unity. Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has accepted the proposal of Gujarat Chief Minister, Mr Vijay Rupani to set up ‘State Bhavan’ at ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Complex’ near the Statue of Unity. 
  • He said that ‘State Bhavan’ would be set up on a land measuring 1500 square meters to be allotted by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust (SVPRET) at a token rate of Rs 51 lakh. This amount would be ploughed back in to develop common infrastructure and to maintain ‘Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat Complex’. The State Bhawan would be independently operated by the Haryana Government, he added.  
  • He said that Gujarat Government is building the iconic ‘Statue of Unity’ to rededicate ourselves to the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in building a modern, strong, prosperous and resilient India. To make this monument a truly national monument with collective ownership, it has been decided set up an area near the ‘Statue of Unity’ as ‘Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat Complex’, which would house various State Bhavans.
  • He said that the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi would dedicate the ‘Statue of Unity’ to the Nation on October 31, 2018. The ‘Statue of Unity’ project was conceptualized by  Mr Narendra Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat to commemorate the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India to nation building. This world class memorial would attract over 25 lakh tourists every year.   He said  that the 182 meters high bronze plated status of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is an iconic and world’s tallest statue of nearly twice the height of Statue of Liberty.
  • It  may be recalled that  the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi  unveiled the 64-feet tall statue of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram, a messiah of farmers, in Sampla, Rohtak on October 9, 2018. This is the tallest statue in Haryana, which has been built by the recipient of Padma Bhushan, Ram Vanji Sutar, a sculptor. As many as 5,500 farmers of the state had donated from half kg to 2 kg iron metal for the construction of this statue.
