  • Chandigarh, October 18– Haryana Public Health and Engineering Minister, Dr Banwari Lal said that under water conservation programme being run by the department, so far, 46,500 taps have been installed and about 1.05 lakh taps would be installed by December  31, 2018.
  • The Minister said that apart from this, the work of fixing of valves in water tanks is being done so as to conserve water and prevent its wastage. He said that in the Present Government regime, water has reached till the tail ends and which is a big achievement. He said that the state government has approved an amount of Rs143 crore for the repair work of tail-ends and maintenance of equipment. The department is contemplating to soon adopt new technologies, for the facility of people, which would strengthen drinking water and sewerage facilities in the state, he added.
  • He said that the Chief Minister had made 399 announcements related to the department, out of which 119 announcements have been completed and 120 are under progress. In the last four years, 483 Boosting stations and 56 STP have been set up, he added.
  • Chandigarh October 18: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has directed to expedite the process of uploading the latest class wise teacher-student data of all schools on the School Information Management System (SIMS), an online portal. This  step aims  to provide quality education to the students by ensuring required student-teacher ratio in all schools upto 12th standard.
  • Mr Manohar Lal who was presiding over a meeting of Education Department here today said that the government has been working towards making the system more transparent and updated. The Government has already successfully implemented the transparent online teachers transfer policy.
  •  Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma was also present in the meeting.
  • While reviewing the SIMS, the Chief Minister directed that the updated data of students and teachers, both class wise and section wise be made available on a single platform on regular basis  and this too in a time bound manner. He said that apart from this, information about the new admissions, dropouts and those leaving the school after completion of their  studies  should also gets  updated automatically .To see the functioning of the online portal, he inquired about the student-teacher ratio in Government School Kachhua in district Karnal.
  • It was also decided in the meeting that the work of organizing Parents Teacher Meeting (PTM) in the government schools would be entrusted to the District Institute for Education and Training (DIET). The teachers of DIET would ensure that the PTM are held in the schools every month.
  • It was informed that a Training Cell has been set up at the Directorate of the Department for imparting training to the TGT and PGT teachers. Training of two batches of 40 teachers each has already been completed and more such batches would be imparted training in the Cell soon. Several reputed private educational institutions have also approached the Department to train their teaching staff in the Training Cell.  
  • It was also informed that over 21,000 girls students have applied under the Chatra Parivahan Suraksha Yojana’ scheme, being implemented for  providing free travel facility to the girl students from their home to their educational institutions.  An amount of Rs ten lakh each has been released to all District Education Officers (DEOs) under the scheme. It was also decided in the meeting that Waste to Wealth Campaign would be organized in the schools as part of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyana.
  • Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that he would personally visit one primary,   middle or high secondary school once in a week to interact with the students and teachers and also review the quality of educations being imparted to them. Similarly, the Directors of the Department and DEOs would also visit one school in their districts every week for this purpose.  
  • Among those present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Principal Secretary Dr Rakesh Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Mrs Dheera Khandelwal, Director, Secondary Education Mr Rajiv Rattan, Director Elementary Education Mr Rajnarayan Kaushik and other senior officers of the State Government

  • Chandigarh, Oct 18 – Haryana Police witnessed a major transformation in its infrastructure with the inauguration of newly renovated building of Police Headquarters by the Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu in Panchkula today.
  • The renovated building has been made air-conditioned which houses state-of-art facilities for all officers and officials of the State Police as well as visitors including two number high-speed glass lifts, energy efficient lighting having LED lights, 100 per cent power backup, fire fighting and fire alarm system etc.
  • The DGP also thanked the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal for extending all out support for upgradation of police infrastructure for better policing.
  • After inspecting the new building, Mr Sandhu congratulated all ranks of Haryana Police and added that new building would further increase the efficiency of one of the best police force in the country. He also thanked the Chairman and Managing Director of Haryana Police Housing Corporation, Mr Parminder Rai for extending all out support for the renovation of the building. The building was renovated with an approximate cost of Rs 6.81 crore after about 25 years of construction.  
  • DGP Headquarters, Mr K.K. Mishra, DGP Crime, Mr P.K. Agrawal, ADGP Operations Mr A.S. Chawla, IGP Modernization, Mr H.S. Doon, AIG Provisioning Mr Vikas Dhankar and other senior officers of Haryana Police were also present on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh, October 18 – Haryana Crime Investigation Department (CID) today organized a  one-day comprehensive course on ‘Stress Management and Soft Skill Development’, offering practical solutions to reduce and manage workplace stress and behavioural improvement at GO Mess, Moginand, Police Lines in Panchkula.
  • As many as 62 PSOs posted with various protectees Governor House, Chief Minister Residence, along with Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court, senior officers of the State government and other dignitaries participated in this course. Director General of Police, Crime Mr. P.K. Agrawal, ADGP, CID, Mr Anil Kumar Rao, IGP Security Mr Saurabh Singh, DIG CID Satender Gupta, DSP CID Ms Purnima Singh were also present on this occasion.
  • Addressing the participants, Director General of Police, Crime Mr. P.K. Agrawal said that duty of PSO is very hard as they have to remain vigilant round the clock. This training programme would definitely help in inculcating awareness about the nature and causes of stress and its preventive measures so as to promote a healthy life style. This would also enable all the participants to consider the workplace stress at an individual level and help them to develop and implement effective strategies to prevent and manage stress while being on duty.
  • Speaking on this occasion, former Bureaucrat and Motivational Speaker Mr Vivek Atray, who was invited to boost the morale of PSOs, delivered informative lectures on the topics like causes and ill-effects of stress and how to manage stress.  He also emphasized on promoting positivity and creativity in society.
  • Ms Shalini, a psychologist also addressed all the participants on the topic of stress management and delivered a lecture on managing impulsiveness, aggression and behavioral issues through mental exercises and questionnaires. She also conducted a psychological test upon all the PSOs.
  • Chandigarh, October 18: With a view to ensure employment opportunities especially for women, Employability Training would be imparted to the girl students of the Government colleges of Haryana.
  • Disclosing this, the Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that in the first phase, as many as 12000 girl students of 11 districts would be given training for 16 hours free of cost and out of these, around  4000 girl students would be given employment.
  • Mr Sharma said that providing job opportunities for the youth of the State is always the priority for the State Government.
  • He said that “United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)” has implemented a unique programme, Project “Disha” for creating employment and Entrepreneurship opportunities for underprivileged women so as to make them economically independent. Under this programme, approximately 6.5 lakh girls and women have been imparted training in the States of Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Delhi and NCR in the areas of career guidance, career counseling, employment marketplace, entrepreneurship and value chains.
  • Under this project, in the first phase, 12000 girl students of 11 districts of Haryana would be given training for 16 hours free of cost on which a sum of Rs. 1.16 would be spent, he added.
  • Chandigarh, October 18– Haryana Government has decided to constitute State Bench of Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal in Hisar for speedy settlement of matters related to Goods and Services Tax (GST).
  • While giving this information here today, Excise and Taxation Minister, Capt Abhimanyu said that in this regard, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has accorded his approval to a proposal. 
  • He said that Haryana is a very big state in terms of economy and revenue. Under GST, so far, there are 4.25 lakh registered taxpayers in the state, who are contributing tax of over Rs. 4,600 crore every month. Earlier in the Value Added Tax (VAT)  system, the State had 2.25 lakh active registered dealers and there was a Sales Tax Tribunal for the State which is still working. Thus, the State requires a State bench of Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal in the State. The State Government would soon send its request to the Central Government for the constitution of State Bench of Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal in Hisar city for the state, he added.
  • Regarding Area Benches of Tribunal, he said that GST is just a year old system and the workload of Tribunal is likely to go up with the passage of time. The workload of the Tribunal could be better assessed only after passing of some more time. He said that Haryana is geographically a small State. Under VAT also, the State has one Bench of a Tribunal located at Chandigarh. In view of all these factors, only a State Bench of Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal could be notified without Area  Benches, for the time being.
  • It is noteworthy that Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 provides that the Central Government would constitute an Appellate Tribunal known as Goods and Services Tax Tribunal. The Tribunal would be constituted on the basis of the recommendation of GST Council. The Tribunal would comprise of the National Bench and its Regional Benches and State Bench and its Area Benches.
  • He said that the National Bench and its Regional Benches would have the jurisdiction to hear appeals against the order passed by the Revisional Authority or the Appellate Authority in matters related to the supply site. The Appeals against all other orders passed by the Revisional Authority or the Appellate Authority would be made to State Bench or its Area Benches. The State Bench of the Appellate Tribunal would have the jurisdiction for exercising the power of Tribunal within the concerned State.
  • The Centre Government would constitute the required number of Area Benches in the State, on the recommendation of the Council and on the request of the State Government, he added
  • Chandigarh, Oct 18 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, today extended greetings to the people of the State on the eve of  auspicious occasion of Dussehra festival.
  • In a message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that Dussehra symbolises the triumph of good over evil. This festival inspires us to end all evils and to adopt values and virtues in life.
  • He said that such festivals are a symbol of our rich cultural and religious heritage. Therefore, people should come together to celebrate this festival to eliminate all evil forces.
  • He wished that the festival would bring happiness, peace and prosperity in the lives of the people of the State.
  • Chandigarh, October 18– Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya today paid his obeisance at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula. He has also extended his greetings to the people of the state for Navratras and Dussehra.
  • The Governor along with Lady Governor, Mrs Saraswati Devi and son, Mr Kaushal Kishore offered prayers, performed yajana and did kanya pujan by duly following all rituals at the Shrine. He also prayed for progress and prosperity  for the people  of the state. MP, Ambala, Mr Ratan Lal Kataria was also present on the occasion.
  • The Governor also offered prayers at Kali Mata Temple, Kalka and also paid obeisance at   Gurudwara Pehli Patshahi. MLA, Kalka, Mrs Latika Sharma was also present on the occasion.
  • Chandigarh, October 18: Haryana is geared up to organize its first ever Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit in Gurugram on November 12, 2018 to be inaugurated by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal. During the Summit, besides launching the web portal of CSR Authority, 16 Haryana CSR Awards would also be conferred on the best performing organizations.
  • While giving details an official spokesperson said that the nominations procedure for these Haryana CSR Awards would start from October 20 and would continue till October 31. As many as  600 guests from the corporate world would be invited to take part in the Summit.
  • He said that the State Government has decided to organize the CSR Summit on State level for utilization of CSR funds in an appropriate way for the development of the State and implementation of Government policies.
  • During the Summit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed between Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Haryana Government to establish a CSR Project Management Unit, facilitating corporates in making their CSR policies, connecting corporate to the development needs, monitoring and evaluation of CSR projects and project based capacity building. Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and KPMG would be the knowledge Partners for CSR Summit.
  • He said that a CSR Project Management Unit would be set up for apt utilization of CSR funds for various operational projects in different districts and for implementation of policies of the Government departments.
  • He said that Gurugram being the hub of Multinational companies, a CSR window system has been created to provide single point of contact for these Multinational companies. After setting up this CSR window, work on projects worth Rs. 200 crore has been done.
  •  After the start of this CSR web portal, all the companies would be able to apply for CSR online and the Project Management Unit would be able to do follow up timely. After applying on website, the companies would be given approval  and NOC within 15 days. Thus after launching of this website, all the procedures would be online and would be completed as per the fixed date.
  • Chandigarh,  October 18 – The Vice-Chancellor of J.C. Bose (erstwhile YMCA) University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad, Prof. Dinesh Kumar has congratulated Haryana Chief Minister,  Mr. Manohar Lal and Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma on the peaceful, free and fair elections of Students’ Council in all the Colleges and Universities in the State of Haryana after a long gap of 22 years and fulfilling the long pending demand of the students. 
  • Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that the students’ election provides an opportunity for students to engage in a structured partnership with University administration for the development and academic growth of the University. It is an opportunity for students to discuss, debate, argue and dialogue over ideas which develops their leadership skills.
  • He appreciated the support and cooperation extended by the Faridabad District and Police Administration and thanks them for maintaining law and order situation throughout the Students’ Election. He also congratulated the office of Dean Student Welfare and his team for conducting peaceful, transparent, free and fair Students’ Election in the University which has been conducted in the University for the first time since its inception. He also appreciated the efforts made by the faculty and staff of the University, engaged in the election process, for successfully and peacefully conducting the Students Election.
