  • Chandigarh, Nov 20 – A delegation under the leadership of President, Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU), Mr Ratan Maan  today met Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and expressed their gratitude for providing big relief to farmers with the decision of reducing the power tariff to almost half and besides this, they are now also in support of Mhara Gaon, Jagmag Gaon Scheme. The representatives also assured to generate awareness among the villagers regarding campaign to prevent power thefts.  
  • The members of BKU expressed that Bakaya Bijli Bill Niptaan Yojana of the state government would provide great relief to consumers of the state. It was a long pending demand of the BKU to provide power at cheap rates and now the Chief Minister has taken necessary steps  for providing the same to the people of the state. This would provide a great relief to the rural households.
  • During interaction with the members of BKU, the Chief Minister said that now in Mhara Gaon, Jagmag Gaon Scheme, 2815 villages are getting 24 hours power supply at par with urban areas and   soon villages of two more districts would also be added in the series.
  • The Chief Minister said that Micro irrigation is being promoted in view of declining underground water level. The state government is also providing subsidies to farmers for adopting micro irrigation.
  • On the demand of strengthening the passages in fields, the chief minister said that the state government has already decided to make the pavement of three karam and four karam paths. He said that so far,  On the demand of renovation of Sugar Mills, he said that the state government is working on it and the renovation work of Karnal, Sonipat, Assandh and Panipat sugar mills has begun, whereas Tenders of Panipat Sugar Mills have been floated.
  • The Chief Minister also urged the members of Union to generate awareness among rural people to reduce power thefts by initiating a social campaign and establish better coordination with Power Utilities.
  • Those present included Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Mr. P.K. Das, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Mr Shatrujeet Kapoor, National Vice President, Bhartiya  Kisan Union, Mr Ramphal Kandela, and others.
  • Chandigarh, Nov 20 – Haryana Governor, Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya said that service to humanity is equal to serving the God. 
  • Mr. Arya was speaking at the concluding ceremony of 25th State Level Ambulance Competition organised at Narnaul today.
  • Appreciating St. John Ambulance Wing and District Administration for successfully organizing this competition, he said that this organization has always remained at first place while dealing with any type of calamity. He also appreciated the organization for the commendable job done by Red Cross during Kerala floods.
  • The Governor urged the youth to work together for the development of the nation, he added.
  • He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, the country has developed rapidly and under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, Haryana has scaled new heights of development.
  • As many as 670 participants of 115 teams participated in this State Level Ambulance Competition. A blood donation camp was also organised on this occasion in which 27 units of blood were collected
  • Chandigarh, November 20– The famous ongoing five day Shri Kapal Mochan-Adi-Badri Mela in Bilaspur, district Yamuna Nagar which has  started on November 19, expected to have around 7 lakh pilgrims this year from all over the regions. The district administration, police administration and other department have made special arrangements for the safety and convenience of these visitors. 
  • While giving details an official spokesman said that the whole fair is divided into four sectors and boats have been arranged for all the pious Sarovars. Focussing on environmental conservation, the fair is arranged polythene free. Apart from this special arrangements have been made to supply clean drinking water for the pilgrims. An exhibition having 40 stalls, depicting four years of developmental activities of the State Government has also been set up in the fair.
  • The religious and unique Kapal Mochan fair  is organised every year on the last five days of Kartik Purnima. The fair is attended by people of all  religions giving message of universal brotherhood and kindness. This Kapal Mochan fair has historical relevance and has been organized since ancient times.
  • The devotees visit Shri Kapal Mochan-Adi-Badri Mela with honesty, faith and affection for the fulfilment of their wishes. That is the reason that thousands of years have passed and today also the devotees come here with the same enthusiasm. Thus pilgrims take a holy dip in Sarovars for Moksha.
  • He said that Shri Kapal Mochan-Adi-Badri Mela is the biggest fair of Northern region. This is an  historical pilgrimage which is also visited by Lord Rama, Lord Mahadev, Lord Krishna, Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji and Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.  
  • The spokesman said that the fair is the symbol of national solidarity, visited by devotees from all over the nation including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
  • Chandigarh, November 20: Haryana Government has given Sanjay Joon, Managing Director, Haryana Medical Services Corporation Ltd., the additional charge of Special Secretary, Haryana Fisheries Department with immediate effect.
  • Chandigarh, November 20– Union Minister of Steel Chaudhary Birender Singh will be the chief guest of the ‘Sir Chhotu Ram’s Memorial Lecture’ to be organised at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad on November 21, 2018. The lecture is being organised by the University in association with Rashtriya Chetna Shakti Foundation Faridabad on the topic ‘Farmers Problem and their solutions’.
  • The eminent historian and scholar Dr. K.C. Yadav will be the keynote speaker of the program and present his view on the topic in context to Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram. The program will be presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar. The program has been convened by retired IAS officer and president of Rashtriya Chetna Shakti Foundation Faridabad Dr. Sukhbir Singh.
  • Chandigarh, November 20: Haryana Government has retired the then District Revenue Officers (CDC) namely Mohinder Singh Sangwan and Naresh Sheokand from service prematurely after the age of 55 years due to doubtful integrity and not discharging their official duties satisfactorily.
  • While giving details an official spokesman said that Mohinder Singh Sangwan was facing five chargesheets under Rule-7 of the relevant Punishment and Appeal Rules. In one chargesheet, the allegations were with regard to irregularities in issuing driving licenses and registration of motor vehicles while working as Sub Divisional Officer (Civil).  Three charge-sheets were issued for causing delay in filling of RFAs in the land acquisition matters. Remaining one chargesheet was issued committing irregularities in distribution of land acquisition compensation of village chowki in district Panchkula.
  • Naresh Sheokand was facing two chargesheets under Rule-7 of the relevant Punishment and Appeal Rules. In one case there was a financial irregularity in respect of amount of Rs 203.50 crore of land acquisition compensation besides embezzlement of Rs 47 crore from the account of National Highway Authority of India. Another chargesheet was with regard to passing of wrong judgement in respect of sale deed dated July 22, 2010 and later on failed to participate in the inquiry conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner in this matter, he added.
  • Chandigarh, November 20– As per the provision made in section 8B of the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, the Haryana State Election Commission has prescribed Rs 20 lakh as limit of expenditure for the candidates contesting the election of Mayor of Municipal Corporation.
  • While stating this, State Election Commissioner, Dr. Dalip Singh said that the other instructions issued vide notification dated May 18, 2017 would remain un-changed.
  • It may be recalled that the State Election Commission had prescribed the election expenditure limit for contesting candidates for the member of Municipal Corporations vide its notification dated May 18, 2017.
  • Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994 has been amended by the Government according to which Mayor in the state will be chosen through the direct election by the electors of all wards of the concerned Municipal Corporation.
