  • Chandigarh, Nov 21 – Haryana Government will celebrate the 550th birth centenary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with utmost enthusiasm and fervour on November 23, 2018. On this occasion, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal would pay obeisance, join celebrations and greet people at Nuh on the auspicious occasion of Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Apart from this, all Members of Parliament, Ministers and MLAs of the state would visit different Gurdwaras across the state to attend functions organised on the occasion of Prakash Utsav.
  • It is worth mentioning here that in order to celebrate the 550th birth centenary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji in a befitting manner at State level for organising various activities relating to his life and teachings, the Haryana Government has constituted a 97-member Organising Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
  • The Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma, Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, Agriculture Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar, Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain, Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Grover and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishan Bedi would be its members.

  • Chandigarh, Nov 21 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today urged the officers to make Swacchta Abhiyan a success through public participation and contribute in making Haryana clean and beautiful. In view of the winter season, he also asked to ensure arrangements for installing signs, signals and reflectors on roads.
  • The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting with all Deputy Commissioners through video conferencing, here today. During the meeting, discussions were held on Swachhta Abhiyan-Urban, settlement scheme of outstanding bills, Ujjwala Yojana, renovation of Shivdhams (crematorium) and road safety.  
  • While directing the concerned officers, the Chief Minister said that new initiatives and experiments would be taken to make Swacchta campaign a complete success. He asked to form a Swacchta committee at district level under the chairmanship of the concerned Deputy Commissioners with officers of Urban Local Bodies Department and some citizens of the city as its members. The members of the committee would inspect all roads for cleanliness.  Apart from this, he also asked to form Swachhta Fund at the district level so as to complete small works by the committee at the earliest.
  • He also directed the concerned officers to ensure the arrangement of sign boards, signals and reflectors on the roads to prevent any loss of life and property due to fog in the winter season. He also asked to start making arrangements at the night shelters.
  • The Chief Minister said that all districts should gear up for cleanliness as a cleanliness contest would be held soon, in which the cleanest city would be awarded the first prize. He asked the officers to ensure participation of school children in the campaign so to generate cleanliness awareness among them. 
  • He directed to ensure that bushes along roads are regularly trimmed and generate awareness among shopkeepers to completely stop using plastic bags.
  • He said that every month a cleanliness competition would be held, in schools and hospitals and the cleanest institution would be awarded.  
  • He asked to widely publicise the settlement scheme of outstanding bills among the people so that maximum people could avail its benefits and join Mhara Goan, Jagmag Gaon scheme. He directed the officers to ensure speedy completion of all works under renovation of Shivdhams in the state.

  • Chandigarh, Nov 21 – Haryana Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain has directed that the supervisors, Child Development Project Officers and District Programme Officers would visit different anganwadi centres twice a week to check the status of cleanliness and post the report alongwith photograph in the departmental WhatsApp group. Apart from this, she also directed that the wages being given to mother-group women would be deposited directly into their bank accounts every month.
  • Mrs. Jain was presiding over review meeting of the Department, here today. Various issues being faced by the mother-groups, anganwadi workers and helpers of Anganwadi centres and their demands were discussed at length in the meeting. She said that the village level committees would continue to supervise the working of mother-group women.
  • Mrs. Jain also directed the officers to ensure  providing gas connections in all anganwadi centres and gas cylinders on subsidized rates. She also directed the officers to prepare a calendar of departmental activities and post details of beneficiaries of department's schemes on departmental website.
  • In order to ensure that anganwadi workers get retirement benefits on the day of their retirement, she directed the officers to send their cases to Life Insurance Corporation one month before retirement so that if any problem arises it could be dealt with timely.
  • Chandigarh, Nov 21: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal was presented with a cheque of Rs 2,14,79,250 by Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC) towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, here today.
  • Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister applauded the performance of Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC) and said that it should continue to make such efforts so as to ensure the scientific storage of food grains in the State.
  • He said that farmers do a lot of hard work in growing food grains and safeguarding their interest is the priority of the Government. First time in the history of independent India, Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi announced significant rise of more than 50 per cent in Minimum Support Price (MSP) of crops and also ensured fixing of formula for MSP of crops.
  • The Chief Minister was apprised that for the year 2016-17, the turnover of Haryana State Warehousing Corporation was Rs. 3199.78 crore.
  • The HSWC has been declared as the nodal agency for the construction of steel silos with 6.50 Lakh Metric tons capacity at 10 locations in Haryana. Besides this, the corporation is operating 111 warehouses at various locations in the State with a storage capacity of 20.92 lakh Metric tons with utilization of 106 per cent.
  • Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar, Chairman, HSWC, Mr Shriniwas Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Mrs Navraj Sandhu and Managing Director, HSWC, Dr R.S. Dhillon were also present on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh, Nov 21 – In order to achieve the target of 90 per cent coverage in Haryana under Mission Indradhanush by December 2018, the second phase would be launched in district Rewari from November 22 and third phase from December 22. Apart from this, the Pulse Polio campaign would be launched in eight districts in the end of November this year.
  • This was informed in a meeting of State Level Steering Committee held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, here today.
  • It was informed that the main aim of Mission Indradhanush was to ensure complete vaccination of children up to two years of age and pregnant women. The Mission was launched to fasten the pace of vaccination and to save children from malnutrition. 
  • The Chief Secretary was apprised that in the second phase, 171 children and 39 pregnant women of the district would be targeted. 
  • It was also informed that under Pulse Polio Campaign, polio vaccine would be administered to about 18.88 lakh children up to the age of five years in eight districts. For this, 8,027 teams would be deputed, 7,402 booths would be set up and 21,53,124 houses would be covered.
  • The Chief Secretary directed the associated departments namely Health, Women and Child Development, Education, Urban Local Bodies, Development and Panchayats, Social Justice and Empowerment, Transport and Labour and Employment to coordinate with each other to achieve the set targets in a timely manner.
  • Chandigarh, Nov 21: Haryana Government  has enhanced rate of Dearness Allowance (DA) by 6 per cent for State Government employees, who continue to draw their pay in the pre-revised pay scale or grade as per the 6th Pay Commission, from the existing rate of 142 per cent to 148  per cent of the basic pay, with effect from July 1, 2018.
  • While stating this here today, Haryana Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu said that this DA enhancement would have extra financial liability of Rs. 127.90 lakh approximately per month. It would have additional financial liabilities of about Rs. 1015.20 lakh for 8 months (from July 2018 to February 2019) to the State exchequer.
  • Chandigarh, Nov 21: Haryana Government has notified December 7, 2018 (Friday), the day of poll for general election to Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan, as paid holiday for its employees who are enrolled as voters in Rajasthan, to enable them exercise their franchise. Such employees can avail special casual leave, paid, on that day. 
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the holiday would be observed under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 and section 135-B of Representation of the People Act in all Haryana government offices, boards and corporations and educational institutes in respect of those staff of the state government who are registered voters in Rajasthan.
  • He said that it was also notified that employees of various factories, shops and private establishments located in Haryana, who are registered voters of Rajasthan, can take paid leave under Section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act for the similar purpose.
  • Chandigarh, Nov 21 – Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Mr Vinod Kumar, DSP Kanina, who breathed his last today following a cardiac arrest. He was 57.
  • In a condolence message issued here today, Mr Sandhu described him an experienced, intelligent and capable police officer, who had joined Haryana Police as an Assistant Sub-Inspector on December 1, 1994.  Praying for peace to the departed soul, he empathized with the bereaved family and wished them strength to bear this irreparable loss.
  • All ranks of Haryana Police also expressed deepest condolences towards the bereaved family members and prayed the Almighty that the departed soul might rest in peace.
  • Prior to joining Haryana Police, Mr Vinod Kumar also served with Indian Air Force for about 15 years.
