  • Chandigarh December 7: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today directed the Departments of Information Technology (IT) and Labour and Employment to jointly prepare an online mechanism so as to ensure that the Provident Fund (PF) of employees working in any establishment having ten or more employees and employees drawing salary less than 21,000 per month in the State is transferred directly into their bank accounts. 
  • Mr Manohar Lal gave this direction while reviewing the progress of Chief Minister (CM) announcement of 13 departments here today. These departments included Labour and Employment, Forest, Co-operation, Medical Education and Research, Fisheries, Rajya Sainik and Ardh Sainik, HSIIDC, Housing, Tourism, Renewable Energy, Transport, Science and Technology and Chief Secretary Office.
  • He said that complaints have been received that in many cases, the contractors or employer did not deposit the deducted PF of employees. To provide relief to such employees, an online mechanism should be developed so that their PF should be transferred directly into their accounts. 
  • While directing the departments concerned to speed up the work on announcements made by him, the Chief Minister directed the Public Works (Building and Roads) Department to provide him a list within three days about those projects, the work on which has been stalled due to non-transfer of budget by other departments. He said that provision of Dormitories should be made in all rest houses to be constructed in future so that a common man could avail the facility on nominal rates. He also directed the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) to explore the possibility of setting up of Industrial Sector in Uchana, Jind and Food Park in Dabwali. 
  • The Chief Minister directed the authorities concerned  to expedite the setting up of Sainik School at village Matenhail in district Jhajjar. He was informed that while the gram panchayat Matenhail has provided 300 acres of land for this school, the Finance Department has approved Rs 50 crore for the construction of this school. A draft agreement has been prepared and sent to Ministry of Defence, Government of India for approval. After the approval of the draft, a Memorandum of Agreement would be signed between the State Government and Ministry of Defence (MOD), Government of India for setting up of this School.
  • It was informed that an estimate of Rs 10.42 crore has been prepared for the development and up-gradation of Karan lake and Oasis Tourism Complex in Karnal. Apart from this, a Sikh Museum would be set up in Kurukshetra. Also, it has been decided to set up Virat Sawroop of Lord Krishna in Kurukshetra at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore. It was also informed that a tourism park would be developed at Topra Kalan in Radaur district Yamunanagar at a cost of Rs two crore. It was also informed that the development of Tourist Place of Pandav Mandir situated at Nalhar in district Nuh has been approved under the Krishna Circuit Phase-II of Ministry of Tourism.
  • Among those present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Principal Secretary Mr V. Umashankar, Deputy Principal Secretary Mrs Ashima Brar, Additional  Chief Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Mr Ram Niwas, Additional  Chief Secretary Tourism Mr Vijai Vardhan, Additional Chief Secretary Printing and Stationery Mr V.S Kundu, Additional  Chief Secretary Forest and Wild Life Mr S.N Roy, Additional  Chief Secretary Transport Mr Dhanpat Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Industries Mr Devender Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Power Department and works related to implementation of  CM announcements Mr T.C Gupta, Director General, Electronics and Information Technology Mr Vijayendra Kumar, OSD to Chief Minister Mr Amarjit Singh. 
  • Chandigarh, Dec 7 – Haryana Tourism Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma said that once again from the holy land of Kurukshetra, the sermons of the Bhagavad Gita would reach the entire world through International Gita Mahotsav.
  • Mr. Sharma was speaking after inaugurating the Crafts and Saras Mela of International Gita Mahotsav 2018 at Kurukshetra today. The artists of 11 states gave their performances on the inauguration of the Crafts and Saras Mela.
  • The Minister said that as a result of the efforts of the present State Government, the Gita Jayanti is being celebrated as International Mahotsav for the third time. This Mahotsav would enhance the pride of Haryana across the world. The craftsmen of various states have arrived in the Mela. These craftsmen included about 91 national level craftsmen, Sant Kabir Awardee and State Awardee, he added.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 7 – Haryana would be taken to top level in terms of tourism and for this, there would be no dearth of funds. The Madhogarh Fort in South Haryana would be renovated and developed as world class tourist spot. For this purpose, first instalment of Rs 30 crore has already been approved. The Madhogarh Fort and Mahendragarh Fort would be developed on the lines of Mughal Garden of Pinjore.
  • This was informed by Tourism Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma after presiding over meeting with senior officers of the Department, here today.
  • Mr. Sharma said that under the ‘Swadesh Darshan Yojana’ of the Central Government, the government has been taking significant steps to develop ‘Madhogarh-Mahendragarh-Narnaul-Rewari Heritage Circuit’ as world-class tourism spot. It is expected that expenditure of about Rs 100 crore would be incurred to fully develop this circuit. In this regard, he had met Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Dr. Mahesh Sharma several times in Delhi.
  • He said that the development of ‘Madhogarh-Mahendragarh-Narnaul-Rewari Heritage Circuit’ would accelerate the pace of development of South Haryana. This tourism circuit would not only benefit the districts Mahendragarh and Rewari, but would also benefit neighbouring districts Bhiwani and Gurugram.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 7– As many as 76 candidates have filed nominations for Mayor and 757 candidates for Municipal Councillors to contest elections in the upcoming elections in five Municipal Corporations and two Municipal Committees of Haryana to be held on December 16, 2018.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the State Election Commission said that of the total 76 candidates who have filed nomination for Mayor included 43 male and 33 female. These candidates included 11 belonging to Scheduled Castes category, 22 candidates of Backward Classes and Other Backward Classes and 43 candidates of General and Other categories. Among these candidates, one candidate is 8th pass, 28 candidates are matric pass, 10 candidates are ten plus two pass and 12 candidates are graduation and above pass. The average age of candidates is 42 years.
  • He said that 757 candidates who filed nominations for Municipal Councillors included 389 male and 368 female. These candidates included 212 belonging to Scheduled Castes category, 152 candidates of Backward Classes and Other Backward Classes and 393 candidates of General and Other categories. Among these candidates, 16 candidates as 5th pass, 68 candidates are 8th pass, 341 candidates are matric pass, 154 candidates are ten plus two pass and 57 candidates are graduation and above pass. The average age of candidates is 38 years.
  • It is worth mentioning here that general elections of seats of Mayor and Members of all wards of 5 Municipal Corporations including Hisar, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar, Panipat and Karnal and of 2 Municipal committees including Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) and Pundri (Kaithal) would be held on December 16, 2018.
  • Chandigarh, December 7 : Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that the heroic saga of the renowned village Rohnat of District Bhiwani would be included in schools’ curriculum from the ensuing academic session.
  • The Education Minister said this while presiding over a meeting of officials of the School Education Department in Haryana Civil Secretariat here today.
  • He directed the officials to prepare the school curriculum after analyzing the inspirational history related to Rohnat.
  • Mr Sharma said that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal hoisted the National Flag for the first time on March 23, 2018 in Rohnat village, which is known for martyrdom during country's first freedom struggle. Prior to this, since past 70 years, the nation flag was never hoisted in this village. The Haryana Government has announced to include the inspiring heroic saga of Rohnat in school syllabus, making a motivational film on village Rohnat at the cost of the Government, setting up Rohnat Freedom Trust and providing free of cost treatment for the people of age group of more than 60 years. The Government has already established Jan Aushadhi medical store, Gaurav Patt and Library, the Minister added.
  • Mr Sharma said that a ‘Shaheed Smarak’ (War Memorial) in Ambala is being constructed by the State Government on 22 acres of land to commemorate the sacrifices of the martyrs of the State. Similar kind of Shaheed Smarak would be built in Rohnat on 4 acres of land. The valour and sacrifice of the people of Rohnat village during the revolt of 1857 is unforgettable.
  • Among those present in the meeting included, Director General, Secondary Education, Dr Rakesh Gupta, Director, Elementary Education, Mr D K Behera besides other senior officers.
  • Chandigarh, December 7: Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Sanjay Singh, owner of tea stall near police station, Palla District Faridabad, red handed while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 10,000.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana said that Sanjay Singh was nabbed in a raid by the State Vigilance Bureau while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 on the  direction of accused Head constable Chander Pal posted at police station Palla district Faridabad, from Varun Channa a resident of   Faridabad in lieu of releasing a scooty.
  • He said that both the accused have been arrested and a case has been registered against Head constable, Chander Pal under Sections 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at Bureau’s Police Station, Faridabad. Further investigation of the case is in progress, he added.
  • Chandigarh, December 7 – Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has been  selected for “Most Eminent Vice Chancellor Award" under 8th International Human Rights Award-2018 instituted by All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice (AICHLS), for Peace Harmony, Protecting and Promoting Human Rights through Education.
  • The award has been bestowed on him for his outstanding contribution to the Education Sector as Vice Chancellor. This prestigious award which carries ‘Certificate of Excellence’ is given to those individuals, world peace leaders and business leaders who show exceptional leadership in serving to humanity. The award ceremony, which is being organised to mark the International Human Rights Day, will be held on December 9, 2018 at India Islamic Centre Auditorium, New Delhi.
  • Prof. Dinesh Kumar, who is also the recipient of prestigious Homi J. Bhabha Memorial Award of Indian Science Congress awarded by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the year 2016, is the fifth Vice Chancellor of J.C. Bose University and his tenure as Vice Chancellor has been remarkable and the University has made notable achievements under his leadership. 
  • On the Academic front, the University has received ‘A’ Grade accreditation by NAAC and NBA accreditation of its various courses. The University has also made its presence in NIRF ranking at National level. The University has also got affiliating status and 18 Engineering Colleges in district Palwal and Faridabad are now affiliated with the University.
  • Due to his untiring efforts, the University has succeeded in getting grants from Central Agencies under TEQIP-3 and RUSA which has boosted the academic and infrastructural development. An ardent researcher Prof. Dinesh Kumar, who obtained his Master and Ph.D degree from Cambridge University, has published more than 100 research papers and his teaching and research career spans over 30 years. 
  • Chandigarh, Dec 7 – Haryana Government has issued transfer and posting orders of one HCS officer with immediate effect.
  • Satish Kumar, Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Bhiwani and General Manager, Haryana Roadways Bhiwani has been posted Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Bhiwani. He has also been given additional charge of Joint Director (Admn.), Kalpana Chawla Medical College, Karnal relieving Anupma Malik of the said charge.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 7 – While taking note of existing weather conditions and fog cover, Haryana Police have issued traffic advisory in the larger interest of general public.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that the advisory asked vehicle owners to check weather forecasts before driving and leaving for destination. All the vehicle owners must keep their vehicles in good condition to make sure that head lights, tail lights, fog lights, indicators, brakes, tyres, windscreen wipers, battery and car heating system are in working order. In case of fog warning, trip can be delayed until it clears.
  • The drivers are further urged to turn lights to low beam during fog as it is easier for others to see you as high beams are not as effective in foggy weather conditions. The use of fog lights was suggested if visibility drops to a minimum.
  • The advisory also suggested to keep a good distance between the vehicles and uses the painted lines on the road as a guide when fog is really thick. In case of dense fog, pulling over to a safe location and waiting for the fog to thin out is also advised for safe journey.
  • The advisory further suggested rolling down window enough to listen for traffic as ears can hear what eye’s can’t see in fog. In case of an emergency stop, pull off the road as far as possible.  Avoiding overtaking, changing lanes, crossing traffic and stopping on freeways and busy roads were also suggested.

  • Chandigarh, Dec 7 – Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu has expressed shock and grief over the incident of road accident involving the death of Ct. Pawan, Driver of Haryana Highway Pilot in district Kaithal. Two other police personnel were also injured in this incident.
  • In a condolence message issued here today, Mr Sandhu expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. 
  • He also wished speedy recovery of two injured cops. The police officers injured were identified as EASI, Jaipal and SPO Madan. Both the injured were taken to a nearby hospital from where Madan was referred to Chandigarh for treatment. 
  • Describing the sequence of the incident, a spokesman of Police Department said that accident occurred on Pehowa-Kaithal road when pilot vehicle collided head on with a canter coming from wrong side on Friday morning.
  • He said that all kind of facilities under the welfare schemes of the Police Department would be provided to the next-of-kin of the deceased.  Apart from assistance under government policy, financial aid of Rs 30 lakh would also be given under a special agreement of accidental death insurance cover. In addition, free education up to XII standards would be offered to the wards of the deceased employee in Police Public Schools.
