  • Chandigarh, Dec 8 – During the International Gita Mahotsav 2018, unique effort would be made to highlight the significance of Kurukshetra and Mahabharata through 3D mapping light and sound show. For this light and sound show, about 3,000 square feet and 125 feet long stage would be set in the Brahma Sarovar.
  • While stating this today, a spokesman of the Kurukshetra Development Board said that everyday four shows of half-an-hour duration each would be shown after 5:30 p.m. from December 13 to 18, 2018. Two characters performing the role of Lord Krishna and Arjuna would be shown. The show is being organised especially for tourists coming from abroad, he added.
  • He said that artists from across the world would draw significant moments of Mahabharata on the walls of Kurukshetra. For this, about 200 best artists have been invited by the Kurukshetra Development Board. These artists have been given the theme of Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita for drawing paintings. Apart from this, the Board would honour these artists on December 9.
  • The National BJP President, Mr. Amit Shah would be present in the International Gita Mahotsav on December 13 and the former President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and Union External Affairs Minister, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj would be present on December 18, 2018.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 8 – The process for filing nomination papers, scrutiny and withdrawal of the seats of Mayor and Members of all the wards of Municipal Corporations namely Hisar, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar, Panipat and Karnal, and Municipal Committees namely Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) and Pundri (Kaithal) have been completed.
  • While stating this here today, State Election Commissioner, Dr. Dalip Singh said that total 59 candidates including 40 male candidates and 19 females candidates are in fray for Mayor and total 592 candidates including 320 males candidates and 272 females candidates are in fray for Members of all the wards of Municipal Corporations. Similarly, total 89 candidates including 35 males candidates and 55 females candidates are in fray for Municipal Committee.
  • He said that for Mayor of Municipal Corporations, total 23 nominations have been received from 19 males and four females for 20 wards in Hisar of which one nomination has been withdrawn by a female thus the contesting candidates are 22 including 19 male and three females. Similarly, total 11 nominations have been received from 11 females for 20 wards in Karnal of which two nominations have been rejected of two females and one nomination has been withdrawn by a female thus the contesting candidates are 8 and all are females. He said that total 12 nominations have been received from 12 females for 26 wards in Panipat of which two have been rejected of two females and five nominations have been withdrawn by five females thus the contesting candidates are five and all are females. Total 13 nominations have been received from 11 males and two females for 22 wards in Rohtak of which one nomination has been withdrawn by a male thus the contesting candidates are 12 including 10 males and two females. As many as 15 nominations have been received from 11 males and four females for 22 wards in Yamunanagar of which three nominations have been withdrawn by three females thus the contesting candidates are 12 including 11 males and one female.
  • Dr. Singh said that for Members of Municipal Corporations, total 113 nominations have been received from 70 males and 43 females for 20 wards in Hisar of which five nominations have been withdrawn by three males and two females thus the contesting candidates are 108 including 67 males and 41 females. Similarly total 116 nominations have been received from 72 males and 44 females for 20 wards in Karnal of which seven nominations have been rejected of four males and three females, and 14 nominations have been withdrawn by seven males and seven females thus the contesting candidates are 95 including 61 males and 34 females. He said that total 145 nominations have been received from 76 males and 69 females for 26 wards in Panipat of which four have been rejected of four males and 13 nominations have been withdrawn by eight males and five females thus the contesting candidates are 128 including 64 males and 64 females. Total 148 nominations have been received from 72 males and 76 females for 22 wards in Rohtak of which three nominations have been rejected of two males and one female, and 10 nominations have been withdrawn by five males and five females thus the contesting candidates are 135 including 65 males and 70 females. As many as 141 nominations have been received from 69 males and 72 females for 22 wards in Yamunanagar of which two nominations have been rejected of two females and 13 nominations have been withdrawn by six males and seven females thus the contesting candidates are 126 including 63 males and 63 females.
  • The State Election Commissioner said that for Municipal Committee, 53 nominations have been received from 26 males and 27 females for 13 wards in Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) of which three nominations have been rejected of two males and one female, and 14 nominations have been withdrawn by seven males and seven females thus the contesting candidates are 35 including 17 males and 18 females. Similarly, 65 nominations have been received from 23 males and 42 females for 13 wards in Pundri (Kaithal) of which 11 nominations have been withdrawn by five males and six females thus the contesting candidates are 54 including 18 males and 36 females.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 8 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that in the next five years, pucca roads would be constructed to each agriculture farm in the state to facilitate the farmers in loading his produce and carrying it to mandis.
  • The Chief Minister was interacting with Chairman and Vice-Chairman of market committees, who called on him, here today.
  • He said that at present, the mandi system of Haryana is best in the entire country. He urged the chairman and vice-chairman of market committees to assist in removing the difficulties being faced by farmers and make them aware so that they could get profitable value of their produce. He said that during last four years, development has been taken place alongwith system change.
  • The Chief Minister said that it is the responsibility of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of market committees to help farmers in right marketing of their produce. Haryana is leading in agriculture sector only because of the tireless work of the farmers. He said that apart from farming, farmers should also engage in mushroom production, beekeeping, fish rearing to increase their income.
  • Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar said that identity cards would be issued to Chairman and Vice-Chairman of market committees. Today, the purchase system in mandis of Haryana is the best which is a matter of pride.
  • Mr. Dhankar heard district wise issues of mandis from all Chairman and Vice-Chairman, and sought suggestions from them for further improvement.

  • Chandigarh, Dec 8 – Judge, Supreme Court of India, Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta impressed upon getting feedback from Advocates and litigants regarding the e-Courts project system so as to further improve the same.
  • Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta was speaking in the inaugural function of Second National Conference of the Computer Committees of the High Courts at Chandigarh Judicial Academy, here today. The Conference was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr. Justice Krishna Murari and Chief Justice,  Himachal Pradesh High› Court, Mr. Justice Surya Kant.
  • The two-day conference with the theme “e-Courts Project – Exploring New Horizons”, would provide a platform for deliberations amongst all the stake holders of e-Courts Project, that is, Department of Justice, e-Committee of the Supreme Court of India, Computer Committees of High Courts, Central Project Coordinators (CPCs) of the High Courts and the Government Agencies like N.I.C. on the various issues concerning the implementation of e-Courts Project and the allied matters.
  • Addressing the conference, Justice Hemant Gupta dwelled upon the journey of judicial system from ‘Courts to e-Courts’. He highlighted the initial resistance to the infusion of information and communication technology into the judicial system. He also spoke about the success of the e-Courts project and the benefits being reaped by the public from e-Services.
  • Mr. Justice Krishna Murari said that the judicial system has become more transparent as detailed information regarding case status and history is now available on the electronic platform which is easily and promptly accessible. Terming the e-Courts project as a big leap towards the fulfillment of Constitutional obligation of providing justice to the citizens at their doorsteps, he appreciated the efforts of Computer Committee of High Court of Punjab and Haryana in bringing the High Court amongst the front runners in the matter of Computerization.
  • While emphasizing the necessity of the use of information and communication technology for making the judicial system more effective and efficient, Mr. Justice Surya Kant also cautioned against over-dependence over technology in the arena requiring application of mind.
  • Chairman, Computer Committee, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan highlighted that the main purpose of this conference is to share achievements of all High Courts with regard to centralized concept conceived by the e-Committee of the Supreme Court and to further exchange ideas for improvements and innovations.
  • All the Speakers acknowledged the contribution made by Judge, Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Madan B. Lokur in making the e-Courts Project a great success.
  • On this occasion, the Punjab and Haryana High Court launched Case Information Software 1.0 for better connectivity with the National Judicial Data Grid. A Souvenir containing articles from all the High Courts and a book compiled by Justice Rajesh Bindal, highlighting the I.T. initiatives taken by Punjab and Haryana High Court were also released.

  • Chandigarh, December 8 –State Election Commission, Haryana has clarified that there is no limit on vehicles which a candidate can use for electioneering purpose.  However, before the campaigning commences, the candidates would have to furnish the details of such vehicles and the areas or wards in which they would be used for campaign purpose to the Returning Officer, who after necessary scrutiny would issue a permit.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Commission said that the original copy of the permit issued by the Returning Officer should be displayed on the wind screen of the vehicles. The permit should be of such dimension that it could be seen from a distance, he added.
  • He said that the permit should contain the number of the vehicle, date of issue of permit, name of the candidate and the area where it would be used for campaigning. Any further deployment of any additional vehicles can take place only after notice to this effect is given by the candidates or their  agents and permit obtained for the same before the actual deployment of the vehicle.
  • He said that the details so obtained should be conveyed to the Deputy Commissioner and Election Expenditure Observer concerned, so that they can check the expenditure in this regard is correctly included in the expenditure account of the candidate.
  • He said that any vehicle used for the campaigning without due authorization or permit by the candidate would be deemed to be unauthorised and might attract penal provisions of chapter IX A of the Indian Panel Code and would therefore be immediately taken out of the campaigning exercise.
  • The vehicle employed for election campaign as per the intimation given by the candidate or their election agents to the district administration should not be requisitioned by the administration.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 8 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the establishment of ‘Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran’ will play a very important role in doubling farmers income by integrating different schemes and policies.
  • The Chief Minister was presiding over introductory meeting of ‘Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran’ constituted under Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, here today.
  • He said that the Pradhikaran has been set up with the purpose of undertaking a humanistic and holistic welfare based approach to address the difficulties faced by the farmers of the state and to provide relief to distressed farmers in varying and challenging situations. He said that facilities for branding and food processing should be made available to the farmers for adding values to their produce.
  • Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar said that farmer’s welfare is one of the most important agenda of the government. The Pradhikaran will make farmer centric policies. Efforts are being made to protect farmer market risks. He said that the Pradhikaran will provide a platform for exchange of ideas across departments, farmers and experts.
  • On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Mrs. Navraj Sandhu made presentation about the basic functions, objective and latest station of Pradhikaran.

  • Chandigarh, Dec 8 – Haryana Government has accorded administrative approval to three projects of widening with hard shouldering, construction and strengthening of roads in three districts namely Jind, Ambala and Kurukshetra. Proposals to this effect have been approved by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the government has also accorded administrative approval to Rs 112.04 lakh for widening with hard shouldering and construction of road from Dalamwala Hotel to HUDA Sector 7 and 8 up to Western Yamuna Canal at Jind in district Jind. The total length of proposed road is 1.01 km.
  • He said that the government has also accorded administrative approval to Rs 116.38 lakh for widening with hard shouldering and strengthening of link road from State Highway-01 to Meerpur via Barauli in district Ambala. The total length of this road is 3.31 km.
  • The spokesman said that the government has also accorded administrative approval to Rs 15.16 lakh for widening with hard shouldering of Thanesar Jhansa road to Ajrana Khurd in district Kurukshetra. The total length of this road is 0.750 km.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 8 – Haryana Government has accorded administrative approval of Rs 104.76 lakh for providing paver block of link road from NH-73 to PHC Pathereri in district Ambala. A proposal to this effect have been approved by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the government has also accorded administrative approval amounting to Rs 277.43 lakh for providing strengthening of link road Jagadhari Ambala road to Khuda to Dukheri in district Ambala.
