  • Chandigarh, Dec 15– Haryana Police have made elaborate security arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of general elections in 5 Municipal Corporations and 2 Municipal committees where polling would be held on December 16, 2018.
  • While stating this here today, Director General of Police (DGP), Mr B.S. Sandhu said that entire police administration is fully  geared up to conduct free, fair and peaceful elections. All the concerned Range ADGPs/IGs and district Superintendents of Police have been directed to ensure adequate Police arrangements for ensuring peaceful conduct of polls with the help of district administration.
  • Police arrangements have been made with a view to ensure that people can exercise their right to cast vote without any fear. Besides this, elaborate security arrangements have also been put in place in and around the polling centres.
  • It may be mentioned here that general elections for the seats of Mayor and Members of all wards of five Municipal Corporations including Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Hisar, Yamuna Nagar and of two Municipal committees including Jakhal Mandi in Fatehabad and Pundri in Kaithal would be held on December 16.
  • Divulging the details about arrangements, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Mohd Akil said, we are committed to provide conducive atmosphere to people during polls and we have made all preparations in this direction. Instructions have been given to ensure smooth plying of traffic on national and state highways passing through cities. Prompt and effective action will be taken against anybody who tries to take law in his hands and tries to disrupt the polling process.
  • Mr Akil said that flag marches are being conducted through the roads and streets of the poll bound areas. Naka bandi, patrolling and checking has been intensified. The cities have been divided into sectors and duty magistrate have been appointed alongwith the police parties, he added.
  • Chandigarh, December 15- Haryana Environment and Climate Change Department is organising a 3-day Writeshop on Project Formulation: Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation from December 17 to 19, 2018 at Hotel Shivalik View, here. The Writeshop will be attended by 40 officers of different departments of the State Government.
  • While giving this information, a spokesman of the Department said that Additional Chief Secretary, Environment and Climate Change Department, Mrs Dheera Khandelwal would inaugurate this Writeshop.
  • He said that during three days, the participants would be trained to prepare projects related to Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation activities related to most vulnerable areas of the state as per State Action Plan on Climate Change to take timely actions to combat the effects of climate change. The officers of the State Government would also be trained to take hand on training on the projects related to adaptation and mitigation according to the National Adaptive Fund for Climate Change and Green Climate Fund guidelines.
  • He said that Expert faculty from the Bankers Institute of Rural Development (Climate Change Cell), Lucknow would impart 3-day intensive training to the participants to enhance their knowledge on the subject.  The programme is targeting to come up with some excellent projects on the resilient, adaptive measures which are required to be taken up by the departments so that timely actions could be proposed for effective solutions to combat the catastrophic effects of climate change, he added.

  • An artisan of Aligarh, Dalip Chaurasia  has brought a statue of Lord Krishna made of brass and stone carvings depicting 21 forms of Lord Krishana from birth to delivering the message of Gita.  The artist said that has  been coming in this festival for the last many years and this year he has brought a huge statue of Lord Krishna and Radha made of bronze weighing 66kg.
  •  Stall of bunches and sticks of beautiful artificial flowers is very popular among the visitors in Saras Mela and Craft Fair. Stall in-charge Pawan Kumar said that every year he tries to bring colourful flowers in a new look. He said that for the sale of flowers he also goes to other districts but at some places he is especially called.

Through the medium of these centres, people can avail the benefit of over 300 services free of cost.   • Chandigarh, December 15 – Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has constituted Zonal level Committees for recalculation and redetermination of recovery of additional price on account of enhanced compensation from the HSVP allottees in case of sale of plots by allotment.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Pradhikaran said that the Committees constituted at Panchkula, Faridabad, Gurugram, Rohtak  and Hisar  zones will start calculation or re-calculation of additional price immediately which would be based on the representation received from Resident Welfare Associations/allottees of the sector. All the disputed as well as fresh cases of calculation of additional price would  be examined by the Zonal committees in view of the latest principles approved by the by the HSVP, zonal committees would consult the RWAs/ residents of the respective sector before finalizing the calculations.  The calculations done by the Zonal Committee shall be duly audited by the empanelled Chartered Accountants.
  • He said that the various RWAs/allottees of the plot were contesting the calculations of additional price being done on the basis of existing policy (copy of policy available on the HSVP website). In pursuance of the meetings were held with the RWAs, some clarifications/additional principles were approved by the Pradhikaran in its 115th Meeting. Another meeting was held with All Haryana Sector enhancement Sangharsh Samiti along with the representatives of different Resident Welfare Associations, where some more principles were approved.
  • Chandigarh, December 15- In Haryana, a total of 14,01,454 voters will cast their vote for 136 Wards in the upcoming General Elections of Municipal Corporations and Committees on December 16 (Sunday) in districts Hisar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Yamunanagar, Fatehabad and Kaithal.
  • While giving information today, a spokesman of Haryana State Election Commission said that out of the total voters, 7,44,468 are male voters and 6,56,986 are female voters.
  • As many as 1,292 polling stations have been set up, out of which 304 are Sensitive and 166 are Hyper-sensitive polling stations. The highest number of polling stations (303) has been set up in Yamunanagar district, the maximum number of Hyper-sensitive polling stations (71) in district Rohtak and the maximum number of sensitive polling stations (71) in district Panipat, he added.
  • He said that a total of 3,921 Polling Officers, 1,292 Presiding Officers, 146 Supervisors, 83 Duty Magistrate, 781 reserved staff have been deployed for the elections.  A strength of 7,016 Police personnel has been deployed for polling duty including 825 Lady Constables, 3,007 constables, 1,049 Head Constables,620 Non-Gazetted Police Officers, 86 Inspectors and 27 Gazetted Police Officers have been deployed for elections.
  • The election is to be conducted by the use of EVMs for which about 1,685 Control Units and 2,959 Ballot Units are to be used, he added.
  • Chandigarh, December 15- Haryana State Election Commission has advised all the electors of Municipal Corporations of Hisar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak and Yamunanagar and Municipal Committees of Jakhal Mandi in Fatehabad and Pundri in Kaithal, where General Elections will be held on December 16, 2018 to carry with them the Elector’s Photo Identity Card or any one of the alternative documents for establishing their identity at the polling station, to cast their vote.
  • While giving this information today, a spokesman of the Commission said that all electors, to whom Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) had been issued by the Election Commission of India, would have to produce it to prove their identity to cast vote during MC General Elections on December 16. However, the electors who have not obtained EPIC as yet would have to produce any one of the alternative documents.  
  • He said that the alternative documents included Passport, Driving License, Income Tax Identity (PAN) Card, service identity card issued to employees by Central or State Government Offices, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Bodies or other Public Limited Company, Passbook of accounts, having photograph, opened in a scheduled bank or post office, Freedom Fighter Identity Card having photograph, SC or ST or OBC Certificate having photograph, issued by Competent Authority, Certificate of Physical Handicap having photograph, issued by Competent Authority, Arms License having photograph, Jobs Cards with photograph issued under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Property documents with photographs such as Pattas, Registered Deeds etc, Pension documents such as Ex-Servicemen Pension Book or Pension Payment Order, Ex-Servicemen’s Widow or Dependent Certificate, Old Age Pension Order, Widow Pension Order, with photograph, Health Insurance Scheme Smart Cards with photograph, Ration Cards or any other similar documents establishing the identity of the electors to the satisfaction of the Presiding Officer, having photograph and the Aadhar Card issued by UIDAI.
  • Chandigarh, December 15- The cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have so far produced over 3.91 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 50.03 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the current crushing season.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Rohtak has produced a maximum of 73,450 quintals of sugar by crushing 9.61 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Cooperative Sugar Mill, Shahabad has produced 71,100 quintals of sugar by crushing 8.76 lakh quintals of sugarcane, followed by Cooperative Sugar Mill, Karnal, which has produced 51,840 quintals of sugar by crushing 6.16 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Kaithal has produced 44,615 quintals of sugar by crushing 5.41 lakh quintals of sugarcane, whereas Cooperative Sugar Mill, Meham has produced 38,250 quintals of sugar by crushing 5.65 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Similarly, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Jind has produced 42,375 quintals of sugar by crushing 5.03 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Palwal has produced 30,305 quintals of sugar by crushing 3.61 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Panipat has produced 28,850 quintals of sugar by crushing 3.37 lakh quintals of sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mill, Gohana has produced 11,150 quintals of sugar by crushing 2.07 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • Apart from this, HAFED Sugar Mill, Assandh has produced 47,600 quintals of sugar by crushing 6.50 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that so far, the average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative sugar mills has been registered as 8.76 per cent.
