  • Chandigarh, December 16 - State Election Commissioner, Haryana, Dr. Dalip Singhstated that the polling in all the 110 wards of the Municipal Corporation, Hisar, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar, Panipat and Karnal and 25 (12+13) wards of Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) and Pundri (Kaithal) ; respectively was held today. A candidate from W. No.13, Municipal Committee, Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) was declared as unopposed The overall percentage in these elections remained 69.39.
  • He further apprised that total 59 candidates (40 male and 19 Female) contested the election of the seats of Mayor and 592 candidates (322 male and 270 female) contested the election of the seats of member, Corporation from all the wards of these Corporations and total 89 candidates (35 male and 54 female) contested the election of the seats of member municipal Committee, Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) & Pundri (Kaithal). The National parties viz. Bhartiya Janata Party contested from all the seats of Mayor and of 107 wards of Municipal Corporations, BSP from 01 seat of Mayor i.e. Yamuna Nagar & CPI (M) 01 seat of Mayor i.e. Rohtak and State Party viz. INLD contested the election from 03 seats of Mayor i.e. from Hisar, Panipat & Rohtak. Except BJP, no other party contested the election of the seats of member, Corporation on party basis. NOTA gave alternative to voters to reject candidates whom voters did not like.
  • Dr. Singh further told that the elections have been conducted with free, fair, transparent & peaceful manner and no violation of model code of conduct was observed. No malfunction of EVMs has been reported. General Observers, Police Observers and Expenditure Observers keep strict vigil over the overall process of the elections and contributed a lot to complete whole process peacefully. The Deputy Commissioner, Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers and Polling staff has also done a good job for the successful completion of elections. No complaint of impersonation, bogus votes, proxy votes, etc., has been reported as Returning Officers were attentive. With efforts of district administration and Police, elections have been conducted peacefully and no untoward incident has been reported.Ladies and youths have participated in large numbers for the casting of votes.
  • The poll percentage remained 62.7 percent in the Municipal Corporation Hisar, 61.8 percent in Municipal Corporation Karnal, 62 per cent in Municipal Corporation Panipat, 62.4 per cent in Municipal Corporation Rohtak and 65.2 per cent in Municipal Corporation Yamuna Nagar.
  • Similarly, in Jakhal mandi (District Fatehabad) 89.5 per cent voting was registered and 82.1 per cent in Pundri (district Kaithal). The overall percentage was 69.39.

  • Dr. Singh also thanked the police administration who has worked round the clock to maintain law and order situation and help the State Election Commission, Haryana for conducting the elections in free and fair manner.
  • In association with the NIC Haryana the Commission has developed e-dashboard to monitor the starting of poll, hour to hour booth wise voter turnout, poll ended etc. One can visitwww.secharyana.comto watch the progress of voting at each polling booth, he added.
  • He further stated that counting of votes of these municipalities shall be held on19.12.2018at8.00 A.M.at the place(s) specified by the Deputy Commissioner concerned and result will be declared immediately after the completion of counting.
  • Dr. Singh warned candidates (winning as well as losing) to submit expenditure statements to the Deputy Commissioner concerned within a period of 30 days of the declaration of election result failing which candidates’ may attract disqualification.
  • State Election Commissioner thanked all the voters and sections of the society, officers/officials of all the departments engaged in the conduct of elections for their co-operation.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 16: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal inaugurated the three days Gita Mahotsav to be celebrated atdistrict level across the stateat Gurugram today and said thateveryoneshould imbibe the message ofShrimad Bhagvad Gita in their life while understanding its importance.
  • The Chief Minister also inaugurated the exhibition put up in this Mahotsav in which 25 stalls have been set up by different departments and institutions. This exhibition would be held for three days On this occasion, Public Works (B&R) Minister Rao Narbir Singh, MLA Umesh Aggarwal and MLA Tejpal Tanwar, were also present.
  • In his address, the Chief Minister said that the sacred Gita ihas lot of practicality and full of knowledge and wisdom. Mentioning one of the verses of Gita, he said that it is our duty to perform actions without worrying about the results. He said that the sacred Gita is useful for every section whether students, common citizens, employees or businessmen.
  • The Chief Minister said that the Gita also teaches management, hence Gita has also been included in the Harvard Business School. He said that considering the importance of the Gita, some of its verses have been included in the syllabus of schools this time.
  • The Chief Minister said thatsanskars(good Values)in human beings leads to formation of a good society and sense of belongingness. Hesaid that the sacred Gita gives us the inspiration to work for the society. The first Gita Mahotsav at international level was organized in 2016 and now the third is being celebrated this year. Last year, in the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, people from 25 countries and 25 lakh people visited the festival. This time, Mauritius is the Partner Country and Gujarat is the Partner State. The acting President of Mauritius Mr Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoor is on a four-day visit. Lord Krishna, delivered the message of sacred Gita to entire humanity through Arjuna in Kurukshetra of Haryana.

  • Chandigarh, December 16 – Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has played a key role in maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation. This force has a glorious past, praise-worthy present and a future filled with hope and service.
  • This was stated by the Vice President, Mr M. Venkaiah Naidu todayat the Passing out Parade of the 50thBatch of the Directly Appointed Gazetted Officers (DAGOs) of CRPF in the premises of the CRPF Academy, Gurugram. Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal was also present on the occasion.
  • The Vice President said CRPF personnel have always won the faith and confidence of the people wherever they have been deployed. He said CRPF has played a significant role right from the days of unification of the country to successfully tackling separatism in the North east and terrorism in Punjab.
  • Appreciating the Civic Action Programms of CRPF, the Vice President said that such programme increase the acceptability of the police among the public. He called upon the force personnel to upgrade their professional efficiency in view of the newer challenges arising out of cyber technology. He also called upon the government and the authorities to give attention to the facilities being provided to the personnel of the force, especially those who are posted in difficult and inaccessible areas and also to take special care of the health and educational needs of the families of the force personnel.
  • Earlier, in his welcome address, Director General, CRPF Mr Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, said that CRPF is the world’s largest armed police force and is the lead force in tackling the issues of internal security of the country. Underlining 78 years of glorious history of the force, Mr Bhatnagar said that the force personnel have always exhibits the highest standards of valour and sacrifice. He said last year only CRPF personnel have been awarded as many as 135 Gallantry medals including seven Shaurya Chakras, which is a record in itself. He said that the force has constantly been upgrading itself tactically to effectively meet new challenges.
  • On the occasion, the Chief Guest presented gallantry medals to the awardees and trophies to the trainee officers. Those who were honoured today include 18 officers/personnel, who received Police Medals for Gallantry. Similarly, trainee officers like Nishant Yadav (All round Best Trainee), Gyanendra Giri (Best in outdoor subjects), Banai Singh Meena (Best in physical training) and Ujwal Kumar Tiwari (Best Firer) received trophies from the Vice President. With their passing out today, the officers will undergo specialized counter insurgency training before being posted in different parts of the country.
  • Earlier, the Chief Guest, accompanied by Mr Bhatnagar inspected the parade and took salute in the colourful march past.
  • As many as 48 trainee officers including 4 lady officers,11 post-graduates and as many as 37 engineering graduates passed out from the academy today, after undergoing a rigorous training regime spanning 52 weeks. Like the previous batches of the DAGOs of CRPF, the 50thBatch too bears a pan-Indian character with the trainee officers representing as many as 16 states of the country having different socio-educational background.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 16: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal will attend the mass marriage of 151 girls in Khanda Kheri village of district Hisar on Monday. The Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Murrah Research And Skill Development Centre of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Khanda Kheri.
  • While giving details an official spokesman said that the Chief Minister would attend this mass marriage function as chief guest, which is being organised by the Haryana Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu. On this occasion, the Chief Minister would bless the newlywed couples for their bright and happy future. The mass marriage ceremony would be held on December 17 and 18, in which Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu would do Kanyadaan of 90 daughters of different villages of Narnaund constituency and 60 daughters of other districts. Apart from this, the function would be attended by the Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi on December 17 as special guests.
  • He said that on the second day of the function on December 18, Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij would attend the function as chief guest while Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar would be the special guest.
  • It is worth mentioning that this mass marriage ceremony is being organized by Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu for the welfare of the needy sections of society. Last year also, the Finance Minister organised mass marriage of 101 girls from the amount he received from the Government as wages etc.
  • He said that the Murrah Research and Skill Development Centre would be constructed over 9 acres of land to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 34 crore for which Rs 7.5 crore have already been released by the Government. Apart from research on the breed improvement of Murrah buffaloes, experts would be trained in this research centre. A modern veterinary clinic with state-of-the-art facilities would also be established. A Micro Dairy Processing Unit would also be set up in this center for preparing milk product.
  • Chandigarh December 16: The Union Government has accorded approval for the establishment of Haryana’s 3rd Sainik School at village Matenhail in district Jhajjar thus fulfillingthe long standing demand of the people of the State. A Memorandum of Agreement would soon be signed between the State Government and Ministry of Defence (MOD), Government of India for setting up of this School.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that State Government would provide Rs 50 crore for the construction of Sainik School on a piece of land measuring 38 acres that has been provided by Gram Panchayat, Matenhail and Rs.1.5 crore per annum towards the cost of resuming of the deed.
  • It may be recalled that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal in a letter to the then Union Defence Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar had requested for the setting up of a School at village Matenhail so as to enable the youth of the State to pursue their desire to join the Defence Forces and serve the Nation. Therefore, a large number of youth, about 10 per cent, from Haryana joined the Armed Forces on regular basis, the letter further stated. The foundation stone of the school was laid by Mr George Fernandes, the then Union Defence Minister on September 7, 2003. However, it could not fructify despite one attempt by thethen CM in 2009 also.
  • The spokesman said that the State Government would provide the entire capital expenditure on land, building, furniture, transport and educational equipment required by Sainik School and a major portion of the running expenditure. He said that the existing land provided for the school would be handed over to the Sainik Schools Society on land lease and to be renewed from time to time as per instructions of Ministry of Defence. The State Government would also grant scholarships to all the boys (only students of Haryana) belonging to the economically weaker sections of society on the basis of rates and income slabs decided by the Board of Governors from time to time.
  • He said that the Union Ministry of Defence would provide Service Officers for the posts of Principal, Headmaster and Registrar. It would also provide National Cadet Corps (NCC) staff and Army Physical Training Corp Non Commissioned Officers. MOD would also provide centre share of scholarship as per existing norms. Besides, it would also provide supervision and control over the school.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 16: Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr Justice Krishna Murari inaugurated the newly built court premises at Sohna subdivision of District Gurugram today. He also laid foundation stone of Lawyers’ chambers to be constructed in the newly built court premises and took part in the Bhoomi Poojan Program organized for the construction of Lawyers’ chambers.
  • On this occasion, other senior Judges were also present including Mr Justice Mahesh Grover, Mr Justice Ramendra Jain, Mr Justice Rajbir Sahrawat, Mr Justice Anil Kshetrapal, Mr Justice Arun Monga, Mr Justice Ravi Kumar Sondhi.
  • On this occasion, Mr Justice Krishna Murari said that inauguration of this premises gave him the opportunity to visit this historic city (Sohna) andexpressed gratitude to the Haryana Public Works Department (PWD), Department of Architecture and the Building Committee of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who have got constructed this court premises, and also congratulated them for their diligent efforts.
  • The Chief Justice said that construction of this court complex would speed up the justice and hearing of cases and it would also help the people to settle their disputes simultaneously. He said that a Litigant Hall have also been made for the convenience of the people. He urged the people to keep this court premises clean so that it can be kept environment friendly. He said that it is the moral duty of all of us to keep the area clean, wherever we are. He appealed to the people and the members of Bar Association to use water, electricity, etc. in the court premises according to their need.
  • He said that this court premises has been constructed in 4.43 acres of land, in which eight court rooms have been built. He said that administrative approval of Rs 21.68 crore was given for the construction of this premises but it has been constructed at a cost Rs 15 crore. All the rooms of the court are air-conditioned.
  • Earlier during Bhoomi Poojan of Lawyers’ chambers, Mr Justice Krishna Murari also planted the saplings in the premises. On this occasion officers of Public Works Department and office bearers of Sohna Bar Association were also present besides other dignitaries.
  • It is worth mentioning that the newly constructed court premises is three-storeys, with eight court rooms, retiring rooms, hearing of cases room, steno room, litigant room, litigant canteen, Gents bar room, ladies bar room, bar library, lockup room, strong room, store, judicial record room, ramps for people with disabilities, two lifts, police guard room, high speed internet connectivity, CCTV camera, fire alarm and fire fighting system and also energy efficient lighting.
