  • Chandigarh, December 18:    Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the Central Government has released an amount of Rs 100 crore to Haryana under the Krishna Circuit and the same is being spent on the development of Brahma Sarovar and Jyotisar in Kurukshetra.  Efforts are being made to further propagate the message of sacred Gita at a grand scale, he added.
  • Mr Manohar Lal was speaking at a cultural programme organized on the concluding day of International Gita Mahotsav at Kurukshetra today.
  • Earlier, he performed “Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Pujan” ceremony at the holy bank of Brahma Sarovar and also performed Deep Daan at the holy bank of Brahma Sarovar with Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishan Kumar, Minister of State for Labour and Employment Mr Nayab Singh Saini, MLA Mr. Subhash Sudha and Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj.
  • While addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Gita Jayanti is being organized in Kurukshetra for last many years but since last three years, it is being organized at international level. He said that lakhs of people from different parts of the country and abroad visit this important event every year and take along with them the message of Bhagvad Gita which was delivered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. He said the message of the Holy Scripture is useful for people belonging to all sections of the society be it the farmers, soldiers, traders, teachers etc. However, it assumes special significance for politicians as it shows them the way to dedicate themselves for the welfare of people.
  • He said that besides, International Gita Mahotsav, religious programmes,   fairs and yatras are organized throughout the year and they have their own Importance. These types of events not only help in inculcating moral values among the people but also teach them how to live a peaceful life without tension by doing away with the habit of living in isolation.  He said that the Kumbh Mela is also coming up in January wherein lakhs of people of the country would take holy bath.
  • He said that Gita is not only confined to spiritualism but has practical relevance also. While reciting one of the Gita Shaloka, the Chief Minister said that one should perform his duties without worrying about the results as this would help him achieving success in his life.
  • Earlier, speaking on this occasion, Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj described International Gita Mahotsav as a grand inspiration which has a laid a strong foundation for the bright future of the country. Such kind of events would help our children becoming more cultured who ultimately help in building a strong nation, he added.
  • Later, well known Singer Kailash Kher made the audience spellbound through his performance. Also, the dance drama by Subhra Gahlotra and Vrindavan Raslila and Dance Drama-Gita on Wheels also enthralled the audiences through their performance.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 18 – Haryana Higher Education Department has started mobile app ‘Shiksha Setu’ which would have all information related to attendance, fee, online admission and scholarships in all government colleges of the state besides having details of lecturers of government colleges and officers of the Directorate.
  • While stating this here today, Director, Higher Education Department, Mr. A. Sreenivas said that the start of this app would bring transparency in the Department and college administration, and enable better connectivity between students, parents, teachers and administration.
  • He said that now attendance of students would be online and it could be updated within 15 days only and thereafter no change would be possible in it.  He said that through this app students and teachers would get instant updates of important notices, circulars and other programmes. The students can also pay their fee online through this app and college administration can also check whose fee is pending and how much fee has been collected.
  • Mr. A. Sreenivas said that during admissions, the students would be able to check through this app the status of seats or course in every college in the state. Now students would also be able to get all information of scholarships such as details of scholarships, eligibility conditions and details of applying students. Apart from this, students would also get instant information of assignments and notifications, he added.
  • He said that directions have been issued to Principals of all government colleges to inspire students and teachers in their respective colleges to download and use ‘Shiksha Setu’ app. 
  • Chandigarh, December 18- Haryana Government has promoted three Staff Reporters of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department. Jai Singh Kharab and Nisha have been promoted as Feature Writer. Similarly, Seema Rathi has been promoted as Assistant Information and Public Relations Officer (Publication).
  • Chandigarh, December 18- Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, so far, 1,505 patients have been provided with medical assistance of about Rs 1.90 crore. During the last four months, 2,598 patients have taken healthcare service in various hospitals.  
  • Mr Vij said that in Haryana, 1,166 patients have taken treatment in private hospitals and 1,432 patients in government hospitals. For this, so far 1,913 patients have sent their claims, out of which 891 patients have provided bills of private hospitals and 1,022 patients have provided bills of government hospitals. Out of these, 1,505 patients have been paid and the payment of the remaining patients' bills is under process. Apart from this, treatment of other patients is going on in various hospitals.
  • He said that Ayushman Bharat Scheme has been launched in Haryana from August 15, 2018. After this, under beneficiary identification system, golden record of 2,11,670 people of the state were approved. Of which, record of 1,95,694 people were linked with Aadhar card, which is about 93 per cent of the total. Under this scheme, about 15.50 lakh families of the state are being covered, in which about 80 lakh people would be benefited.
  • He said that in order to provide the benefit of this scheme to all, Haryana Government has kept 291 hospitals on the panel, which include 207 private hospitals with excellent facilities and 84 government hospitals. Apart from these, 182 other hospitals are under process for the panel, in which 165 private, 17 government hospitals and 15 other hospitals have applied for the panel.
  • Chandigarh, December 18- Purses made of silk and khadi fabrics are quite a hit among women coming to International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra.
  • Sandeep of Gurdaspur, Punjab said that every year, she brings ladies purses made with silk and khadi fabric. She said that she takes from 20 to 40 minutes in making a purse. All the attractive designing on these purses are hand-made and without the help of any machine.  She also makes use of satin fabric and bell button on purses. The design of beautiful figures on purses is an attraction among the tourists.
  • Beautiful designs of Kohlapuri chappal was another attraction among the tourists. Sarjera Satpute of Maharashtra said that he has been coming to this Mahotsav for the last many years and this time, he has brought huge variety. In Maharashtra, people are very fond of these chappals and he regularly put up his stall in events and melas organised there. He has brought laser, kapsi, ladies and gents chappal, ek patta, char patta, maharaja chappal and others. 
  • Idols of Maa Durga, Lord Ganesha, Radha Krishna and other decoration pieces made of solawood was another attraction for tourists.  A craftsman, Kishan said that  these beautiful idols are hand-made and also make use of solawood. Knife and scissors are also used to cut, carve and give shape to the wood. He said that he uses the same soil which is used to make the idol of Maa Durga in Kolkata.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 18 – Union External Affairs Minister, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj said that every youth would have to be the messenger of Srimad Bhagvad Gita for the welfare of the world. For this, every youth would have to adopt the message of at least two shalokas of the Gita in their lives every day.
  • Mrs. Swaraj was speaking as chief guest in the 'Vaishvik Gita Paath Karyakram' organised in the concluding day of the International Gita Mahotsav 2018 at Kurukshetra today.
  • She said that for the third time, 18,000 students have recited 18 shalokas of 18 chapters of the Gita together, thus creating history again. Not only this, 108 Brahmins recited Srimad Bhagvad Gita Paath at Jyotisar.
  • The Union Minister said that Srimad Bhagvad Gita is the biggest philosophical text as this is only text which shows the way of living the life and paves way for solving all problems in the world. Each shaloka in the Gita makes a person cultured.
  • She said that as the result of the efforts of the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, Gita Jayanti is being celebrated as International Gita Mahotsav from last three years which has brought Kurukshetra on world map. The International Gita Mahotsav is being celebrated not only in Kurukshetra, but in each district of the state also.
  • Odisha Governor, Prof. Ganeshi Lal said that Gita is inspirational for youth, senior citizens and soldiers alike. He said that Srimad Bhagvad Gita inspires us to perform action without worrying about results.
  • Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishan Kumar said that the Srimad Bhagvad Gita not only shows the meaning of Dharma, but also shows the path of attaining salvation.
  • Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev and Swami Chidanand Muni Maharaj also spoke on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh, December 18- The newly appointed Chairperson of Haryana Women Development Corporation, Mrs Sunita Chauhan today took over the charge in Panchkula.
  • Mrs Chauhan said that she would effectively implement schemes for the upliftment of women and would make constant efforts in this direction.
  • She said that through the personal loan scheme, urban and rural women would be encouraged to take maximum advantage of the scheme for starting stitching-sewing and opening grocery, readymade garments, clothing store stationery, boutique and general store. She said that the corporation has plan to ensure higher education for girls so as to make them self sufficient, in which they can grow in the fields like business, technical diploma, medical, graduation and post graduation.

  • Chandigarh, December 18- In Haryana, more than 75.39 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of Paddy has arrived so far in mandis as against the arrival of more than 71.79 lakh MT during the same period of last year.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival, government procuring agencies have procured over 58.64 lakh metric tonnes whereas over 16.74 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is purchased by millers and dealers.
  • He said that more than 32.46 lakh MT of paddy have been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, over 18.06 lakh MT by Hafed, over 7.93 lakh MT by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 17,744 MT by the Food Corporation of India.
  • Giving details of arrival in mandis of different districts, the spokesman said that out of the total arrival, the maximum quantity of paddy has arrived in Karnal which is over 15.51 lakh MT followed by Kurukshetra over 11.63 lakh MT. Similarly, over 8.36 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Kaithal, over 7.91 lakh MT in Fatehabad, over 7.74 lakh MT in Ambala, over 6.33 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, over 5.25 lakh MT in Jind, over 3.12 lakh MT in Sirsa, over 2.66 lakh MT in Sonipat, over 2.15 lakh MT in Panipat, over 1.55 lakh MT in Hisar, over 1.44 lakh MT in Panchkula, 62,390 MT in Palwal, 48,093 MT in Faridabad, 34,808 MT in Jhajjar, 12,767 MT in Rohtak, and 10,002 MT in Mewat.
  • Chandigarh December 18: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has urged the Union Railways Minister, Mr Piyush Goyal to replicate the innovative elevated railway track of Rohtak on Narwana-Kurukshetra Railway Line in Kaithal also.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the PWD Department said that the construction of elevated Rail Track in Rohtak, the first of its kind in the country has led to many requests for its replication elsewhere in the state. 
  • Therefore, in a letter addressed to the Union Railway Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that three important roads namely Kaithal-Karnal State Highway No-8, Circular road Kaithal around Kaithal town and Thanesar-Dhand-Kaithal road cross the Narwana-Kurukshetra Railway line in Kaithal town at railway RD 38/4/5 (LC 33), RD 39/4/5 (LC 34B) and RD 40/1/2 (LC 34A) respectively. All these level crossings qualify for the construction of ROBs/RUBs.
  • He said that as these level crossings are located in built up areas with substantial traffic movement due to major government offices, private establishments and the bus stand being in the close vicinity, construction of these ROBs in these locations would not be feasible due to difficulties of land acquisition. Therefore, elevating the railway track instead of construction of three ROBs/RUBs would make a lot of economic sense, he added.
