  • Chandigarh, Dec 20 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today directed the senior officers of the state government to get constructed about 50 lakes or reservoirs in the areas of Haryana that surround Delhi to prevent the probability of floods in the rainy season. During Monsoons, the flow of water increases in rivers, therefore, it also increases the chance of lower areas getting flooded. The excessive water would be collected in these lakes or reservoirs to avoid such a situation, he added.
  • The Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting of Irrigation and Water Resources Department here today. The Chief Minister directed the officers to get these lakes or reservoirs constructed on barren or saline land and after identifying such areas, they should be developed as lakes or reservoirs.
  • It was informed in the meeting that for the first time in the history of Haryana, monsoon water was taken over 16,500 cusecs from  Yamuna river which used to be not more than 15,000 cusecs in the previous years. Major works on the Western Yamuna Canal (WJC) System have been taken up with project estimates of over Rs 1,500 crore. 
  • It was informed that since its construction in 1976-77, Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) System flowing 3,250 cusecs of water and from Indri Head to Sirsa branch is flowing 2,700 cusecs of water as against 2,200 cusecs.
  • The capacity of WJC main branch was increased during Kharif Season 2018, and maximum water discharge of 10,050 cusecs was made instead of 8,500 cusecs in year 2017 besides discharging 12,759 cusecs at Munak canal.
  • The Chief Minister said that focus would be on micro-irrigation to cover more land under irrigation. He appreciated the officers for provided water till the tail end in the far-off areas in Mahendragarh. He categorically mentioned that working must be made transparent and officers and officials in the field must be motivated to serve the masses.
  • The Chief Minister also reviewed the work on CM announcements and directed to expedite the work on them. He also directed to expedite the work on project to take water to Mewat.
  • Others present in the meeting included Principal Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mrs. Ashima Brar, and other senior officers of the Department.
  • Chandigarh, December 20- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal will launch as many as 115 Antyodaya Saral Kendras of the state, from Karnal, on the occasion of Good Governance Day on December 25, 2018.
  • While giving this information, an official spokesman said that through the medium of these Kendras, the state government is providing over 400 services of 38 departments, under one roof. In these centres, people are being provided with the benefit of government schemes and other services. The people need not go to any department for the services, which are being provided at Saral Kendras. The departmental officials have also been directed to send people at these centres for services.
  • He said that a workshop would be organized for all the operators before the mega launch of Antyodaya Saral Kendras on December 25, where they would be informed about the eligibility of beneficiaries to avail the benefit of various schemes.
  • He said that any person can apply online on Saral portal from home but need to visit only once at the centre for verification.  After applying online, the applicant would keep getting the status of his application on his mobile.
  • He said that two new features have been added to the Saral portal, which included e-Ticketing system and Knowledge Management System. He said that through e-Ticketing system, any citizen could submit his complaint on Saral portal regarding any service and the concerned department would redress the complaint within 24 hours.  Similarly, through e-Ticketing system, the departmental officials would also be able to submit the problems being faced by them. The Knowledge Management system would provide information to people about services through Saral portal.
  • Chandigarh, December 20- Haryana Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij today directed the concerned officers for speedy completion of formalities for the construction of the Tertiary Care Cancer Centre in Ambala Cantt so that the people of the area could get its benefit.
  • In this regard, Mr Vij was presiding over a high-level meeting here today.
  • Mr Vij said that the construction of this centre would benefit the patients of all districts in northern Haryana. Apart from this, the state government has already got constructed, the country’s biggest National Cancer Institute in Jhajjar for the patients in southern Haryana.
  • He issued direction for the completion of all formalities for the mortuary, residence of doctors and other staff and construction of additional Block in hospital. He also directed to soon equip all the buildings of new hospitals in the state with equipment. After this, all new hospitals would be inaugurated and would be open for the people.
  • Those present included Principal Secretary, Health Department, Mr. Rajiv Arora, Director General, Health, Dr. Satish Aggarwal and other senior officers.
  • Chandigarh, December 20- Haryana Government has given Yogesh Kumar Mehta (HCS), Additional Secretary, Health and Secretary, Haryana Right to Service Commission, the additional charge of Additional Secretary, Medical Education and Research Department, during the leave period of Arun Rishi, with immediate effect.
  • Chandigarh, December 20- The Director General, Health of Haryana, Dr Satish Aggarwal today inaugurated the Free Health Checkup camp organised by State Bank of India at Civil Secretariat, here. More than 200 persons got themselves examined at the camp.
  • The Deputy Managing Director of Bank, Mr Jagdish Jindal said that this health checkup camp had been organised here, to examine the health of employees of Civil Secretariat so that they do not go far away for a health checkup. During the camp, people were examined for heart disease, ENT, blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases and were also given health advice.
  • He said that this camp has been organised under the leadership of Director, Cardiac Department of PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr. Munish Goel.
  • On the occasion, Branch Channel Manager,  State Bank of India, Mr Nitin Arora, Branch Manager, Ms. Alpana and other officers were present.
  • Chandigarh, December 20- In One Stop Centres (OSCs) set up in Haryana, women affected by violence are provided services like police assistance, medical aid, psycho-social counseling, legal aid and temporary stay under one roof. At present, seven OSCs are functional in Karnal, Bhiwani, Gurugram, Faridabad, Hisar, Rewari and Narnaul districts and 15 more centres would also be set up.
  • In view to equip these centres with staff, Haryana Women and Child Development Department has invited applications for staff under One Stop Centre Scheme which included 15 posts of Centre Administrators, 15 posts of Psycho Social Counselor, 15 posts of Legal  Counselor and 30 posts of Para Medical Personnel. The last date of submitting the application online is January 4, 2019.
  • Giving details on essential qualification, a spokesman of the department said that for the post of Centre Administrator, the management of One Stop Centre could be outsourced to any woman having a Law degree or Masters in Social Work with at least five years’ experience of working on violence against women issues in an administrative set-up with a Government or Non-Government project or programme and preferably with at least one year experience of counselling either within or outside the same set-up.
  • For the post of Psycho Social Counselor, the counseling service could be outsourced to any woman having a postgraduate degree in Social Work or Clinical Psychology with at least three years of experience of working as Counselor or Psychotherapist in a reputed Mental Health Institute or Clinic at the District or State level.
  • For the post of Legal Counselor, the legal counseling service could be outsourced to any person having a background in Law or Social Sciences with para legal training or knowledge of laws with at least three years’ experience of working within a Government or Non-Government project or programme on Violence against Women at the district.
  • For the post of Para Medical Personnel, the medical assistance service could be outsourced to any woman having a professional degree in paramedics with a background in health right and preferably with at least three years’ experience of working within a Government or Non-Government health project or programme on VAW at the district.

  • Chandigarh, Dec 20: The cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have so far produced over 4.98 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 61.47 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the current crushing season.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Shahbad has produced a maximum of 93,900 quintals of sugar by crushing 11.06 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Cooperative Sugar Mill, Rohtak has produced 90,950 quintals of sugar by crushing 11.50 lakh quintals of sugarcane, followed by Cooperative Sugar Mill, Karnal, which has produced 61,290 quintals of sugar by crushing 7.13 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Meham has produced 48,800 quintals of sugar by crushing 6.85 lakh quintals of sugarcane, whereas Cooperative Sugar Mill, Jind has produced 49,900 quintals of sugar by crushing 5.83 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Similarly, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Kaithal has produced 57,615 quintals of sugar by crushing 6.82 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Palwal has produced 39,000 quintals of sugar by crushing 4.45 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Panipat has produced 35,350 quintals of sugar by crushing 4.03 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Gohana has produced 21,950 quintals of sugar by crushing 3.30 lakh quintals of sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mill, Sonipat has produced 100 quintals of sugar by crushing 0.50 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • Apart from this, HAFED Sugar Mill, Assandh has produced 60,000 quintals of sugar by crushing 7.82 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that so far, the average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative sugar mills has been registered as 8.91 per cent.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 20 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has announced to constitute Haryana Herbal Corporation to promote Ayurveda and Herbal medicines in the state  besides making Morni area organic cluster and setting up a world class nursery for herbal plants in the area.
  • The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating World Herbal Forest Project at Morni hills in district Panchkula today.
  • He said that the Haryana Herbal Corporation would look after maintenance of herbal parks already established in the state. He said that on the pattern of state such as Sikkim, there are numerous possibilities of organic farming in Morni area which would  also cater to the need of  people  residing in Chandigarh-Panchkula-Mohali of fruits, vegetables and other food items.
  • Appreciating the officers and officials of the Forests Department and scientists of Patanjali Yogpeeth working on this project for last three years, the Chief Minister said that his vision of establishing World Herbal Forest in Morni hills have been implemented at ground level today. People of this area would get employment with the  diversification of herbal plants in forests of Morni area and it would increase their income.
  • He said that in terms of per capita income, Haryana is ahead of many other states, but areas such as Mewat and Morni are still lagging behind. Now with this project, Morni will get distinct identity not only in the country but also abroad. He said that Shivalik mountain range is the pride of Haryana and for development of this mountain range, departments such as Forests, AYUSH, Tourism and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare would work together.
  • Listing out the steps taken so far by the State Government for promoting Ayurveda and Yoga, Mr. Manohar Lal said that on the pattern of AIIMS, a 300-bedded hospital is being established over 20 acres in Panchkula at a cost of about Rs 500 crore alongwith National Institute of Ayurveda and Yoga. Apart from this, Central Council is being constituted for Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy at Devarkhana in district Jhajjar. The Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College in Kurukshetra has been upgraded as AYUSH University which is one of its kind universities in the country. He said that vyayamshalas are being opened in every village to connect people with our ancient culture of yoga.
  • The Chief Minister assured the researchers of Patanjali Yogpeeth  for providing  them accommodation at Morni. He expressed happiness on the fact that researchers have discovered 53 new species of herbal plants in Morni area. So far the total number of species of herb plants registered in the Forests Department was 1062 which have now increased to 1115.
  • Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated ‘Harad Vatika’. The Patanjali Yogpeeth has set a target of establishing total 125 Vatikas in Morni area of which 65 Vatikas have so far been established. The Chief Minister also released three books written by Acharya Balkrishna. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also released a book entitled ‘Narendra Modi – A Charismatic Visionary Statesman’ authored by Mr. Adhish Agarwal.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Forests Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that Haryana is fortunate to have Aravali mountain range and Shivalik mountain range. He said that our country has been the originator of Ayurveda, but in modern times people are inclined towards allopathy. People were  not that much inclined towards Ayurveda, but today with the assistance of Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev, World Herbal Forest Project has been inaugurated at Morni Hills which would add a new chapter in the field of Ayurveda. He said that herbal plants would be planted on about 1200 acres which would provide employment to the local people. He congratulated Acharya Balkrishna and scientists of Patanjali Yogpeeth for promptly working on the project. He said that besides being Yoga Guru, today Swami Ramdev has also become ‘Aushadhiya Guru’.
  • MLA, Kalka, Mrs. Latika Sharma, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna and others also spoke on this occasion.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister honoured 20 scientists working on this project with citations.
  • Others present on this occasion included Member of Parliament, Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Mr. Mukul Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Jagdeep Dhanda and other dignitaries.
