  • Chandigarh, Dec 29 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has allotted 1,000 yards of land to 'Jogi Samaj' at government rate in Sector 8 for construction of dharamshala.
  • The representatives of Jogi Samaj called on the Chief Minister to express gratitude at Karnal today.
  • The Chief Minister said that the State Government is with people of Jogi Samaj and wherever and whenever required, the State Government will extend every possible help.
  • He said that the State Government has provided land and financial help to people of other Samaj as well for construction of dharamshalas. He said that every section of the society is equal for him, therefore, equitable development of all sections of the society has been carried out. The State Government has followed the principle of ‘Haryana Ek Haryanvi Ek’, he added.
  • On this occasion, the District General Secretary of Jogi Samaj, Mr. Rakam Singh said that Mr. Manohar Lal is the first such Chief Minister of Haryana who have presented this gift to Jogi Samaj and fulfilled the long pending demand of land for construction of dharamshala. He said that the land has been provided at government rate of Rs 5,075 per square yard. This is the huge gift for the Jogi Samaj for which the Samaj will always be thankful to the Chief Minister, he added.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 29 – In view of the prevailing foggy weather conditions in the state, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has directed to adopt a multi-pronged strategy to bring down road accidents in the state.
  • The Chief Minister has asked all agencies including Police, Transport and Public Works (Building and Roads) Department to work together for bringing down the number of road accidents and save precious human lives.
  • The road accident cases rises due to low visibility and dense fog as soon as the winter season arrives. Keeping this in view, Director General of Police (DGP), Mr B.S. Sandhu has issued directions to all Commissioners of Police and districts Superintendents of Police to ensure safe road travel during morning/evening fog in larger interest of public. He also urged the people to drive carefully in such tough weather conditions for their own safety and that of others.
  • The directives highlighted some of the major issues that cause accidents due to lack of proper visibility. It has been directed to take all possible preventive measures to avert such mishaps by deploying adequate traffic duties at crossings, blind curves, black spots and traffic congestion points. No vehicle should be allowed to be parked on roads.  
  • It has also been directed to nominate an officer of the level of DSP/ACP as Nodal Officer in each district to ensure smooth flow of road traffic round the clock during the current foggy season. It should be ensured that travellers on the National and State Highways and other roads may not face any traffic jam on account of accidents, broken vehicles, parking on road and wrong side driving. Apart from this, stands traffic barricades should be used/installed with flashing lights while putting barriers on highways.
  • It has also been directed to coordinate with civil authorities like National Highway Authority of India, Public Works (Building and Roads) Department and Urban Local Bodies Department to ensure that broken barricades should be replaced with standard road side barriers and diversion methods. All the commuters should be advised to get Retro Reflective tapes pasted on their vehicles. Checking of drunken driving and over-speeding vehicles should be made more effective.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 29 – Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister, Mr. Rajesh Agarwal today  shared the details of Kumbh Mela starting at Prayagraj (former Allahabad) from January 15, 2019.
  • Mr. Agarwal was addressing a Press Conference at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), here today. CII is the National Partner to the Uttar Pradesh Government for the Kumbh Mela 2019.
  • Giving the details of the Kumbh, Mr. Agarwal said, "This holy event is organised at four places in the country. The event held at Prayagraj in itself is the subject of special curiosity and attraction for the country and the world. Following the efforts made by the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, UNESCO has included Kumbh in the list of "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity".
  • "Following the efforts made by the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath Ji, the historical and mythological importance has been restored by changing its name to Prayagraj as per the sentiments of the people. The Uttar Pradesh Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister is making elaborate arrangements for successful organisation of Prayagraj Kumbh-2019," he shared.
  • "The State Government is endeavoring to provide a devotionally and spiritually changed atmosphere to pilgrims coming to Kumbh. Over 5,000 NRIs will also visit the Kumbh owing to the joint efforts made by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. People from over six lakh villages of India along with the overseas devotees will participate in Kumbh Mela 2019," he added.
  • "The UP Government has earmarked an amount of Rs 2,800 crore for Kumbh Mela 2019 along with the various projects of stable development. Besides, work of stable development is being carried out at Kumbh Mela and Prayagraj with a total amount of Rs 4,300 crore from other budget. Under these projects, works of basic infrastructural facilities like roads, bridges, drinking water schemes electricity improvement and tourism development have been done."
  • "Following the efforts made by the State Government and the cooperation extended by the Union Ministry of Defence, the devotees coming to the Kumbh will have an opportunity for the first time in the last 450 years to pray at 'Akshay Vat' and 'Sarasvati Koop'. Keeping this in view, the state government has beautified all the places directly or indirectly linked to the Kumbh," he said.
  • Mr. Agarwal said that the state government has already launched a new logo of Prayagraj Kumbh - 2019 in accordance with the nature of the event. The state government is making efforts to realise the concept of making the Kumbh event a representative of India's 'Sanatan' and inclusive culture. The objective of this event is to make efforts to familiarise the world with the high quality life, conduct and thoughts of Indian culture through Kumbh.
  • Kumbh is organised at Prayagraj after every six years and Magh Mela every year. To ensure continuity of developmental process, the state government has constituted Prayagraj Mela Authority. Under the Kumbh related works, 671 people welfare projects have been completed during the last one-and-a-half years. Of these, most of the projects are related to the stable developmental works.
  • "For smooth traffic movement, the state government has constructed nine flyovers in only last one and a half years. The Bridge Corporation has created a record by constructing in a short period of 14 months a four-lane wide and 1,325 metre long flyover on a single pillar in front of High Court in Prayagraj city area. Similarly, another record has been created by completing only in a year time, a one km long ROB at a height of 16.00 metre at Rambag. In the densely populated areas of the city, six railway under passes have been widened to four-lane within a year, which have smoothened city traffic movement for the citizens of Prayagraj," shared the Minister.
  • The state government for the first time, has widened and strengthened on a wide scale over 64 traffic crossings and 264 roads connecting the mela area during the last one-and-a-half years. Besides, the availability of latest medical equipment has been augmented in the hospitals of Prayagraj city, besides setting up new plants by enhancing medical facilities.
  • Ambassadors of about 71 countries have witnessed the preparations for this grand event. They have unfurled the national flag of their countries on the bank of Triveni in Kumbh Mela area. A conference on NRI Day is being organised in Varanasi in January, he added.
  • He said that the efforts made by the state government resulted in setting up of a new city in the huge Mela area, which has 250 km long roads and 22 pontoon bridges. It will be the largest temporary city of the world. Keeping in view the arrival of devotees in a large number, availability of electricity has been made more effective by streamlining energy infrastructure in Prayagraj. For the first time, the Mela area is being brightened up by installing over 40,000 LED lights.
  • The Minister said that the Government of India has made a historic increase in number of flights by getting constructed a new air civil terminal in Prayagraj. Prayagraj has been connected through air route to Bengaluru, lndore, Nagpur and Patna. A heliport is also being set up there and arrangements are being made to provide the facility of helicopter joy ride to tourists.
  • For the first time, the Kumbh Mela Area has been brought under the surveillance of Integrated Control and Command Centre and CCTV Cameras. As many as 1,22,000 toilets have been constructed and sanitary staff more than double in number as compare to the previous Kumbh have been deployed in Prayagraj Kumbh 2019.
  • Campaigns are in full swing everywhere to ensure that the banks of Ganga and Triveni remain clean and the water of Ganga Ji remains pollution free. Swachh Bharat Mission and Namami Gange project are being successfully executed in Prayagraj. So far, 32 nullahs (drains) opening in the Ganga have been sealed. To control pollution in the Ganga, four schemes are being implemented in Prayagraj under the Namami Gange Programme. Out of these, two schemes have been completed and 90 per cent work has been completed on the remaining two.
  • For the first time in Kumbh Mela arrangements are being made to set up Ganga Pandal with a capacity of 10,000 persons, Pravachan Pandal with a capacity of 1,000 and four cultural pavilions, where cultural programmes will be staged continuously.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 29 – The Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister, Mr. Rajesh Agarwal called on the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal at his residence here today and invited him, on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, for the Kumbh Mela 2019 to be held at Prayagraj from January 15 to March 4, 2019.
  • On the occasion, Mr. Manohar Lal congratulated the Uttar Pradesh Government and people of Uttar Pradesh for the Kumbh 2019.

  • Chandigarh, Dec 29 – Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain has announced to waive off 100 per cent interest on one time settlement of outstanding property tax in municipalities from January 1, 2019 to February 28, 2019. A proposal to this effect has been approved by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
  • Mrs. Jain said that earlier, 30 per cent rebate in interest was being given to residential property owners in Municipal Corporation, Municipal Committees and Municipalities of the state for one time settlement of outstanding property tax by December 31, 2018. Keeping in view the increasing interest by people, a proposal was prepared for waiving off 100 per cent interest on one time settlement of outstanding property tax which has been approved by the Chief Minister.
  • The Minister said that directions have been issued municipal officers to inform people about this decision so that maximum people would be able to deposit their outstanding property tax.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 29 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal will inaugurate mega Police Housing Complex at New Police Lines, Faridabad on December 30, 2018.
  • While stating this here today, Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. B.S. Sandhu said that construction of these houses have been carried out by the Haryana Police Housing Corporation at a cost of about Rs 65 crore. Spread over an area of 12.75 acres, the housing complex has total 384 houses.
  • He said that the project is a landmark for Haryana Police as it would enhance housing satisfaction level for the police personnel. Out of 384 houses, 336 quarters have been constructed only for constables and head-constables, and 48 for NGOs.
  • Mr. Sandhu said that Haryana Police Housing Corporation is working to enhance the living and working facilities of its jawans and officers. During last four years, a huge building infrastructure has been raised in all the districts of the State and many are under construction. Inauguration of such a mega housing project would certainly help in improving their quality of life that would reflect in their performance, he added.
  • The housing project includes several facilities such as green lawns, sewage treatment plant, open air gym, children swings, treated water of STP for gardening, roads and parking, he added.
