- Chandigarh, December 31: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has greeted the people of the state on the eve of New Year and wished for their well-being and prosperity.
- In a message issued here today, Mr Manohar Lal wished the people of the state a bright and happy New Year and prayed that the year 2019 would usher a new era of development in the state which would promote progress, prosperity and well being of all sections of the society.
- He reiterated the commitment of the state government to work for the welfare and well being of all sections of the society and expressed hope that Haryana would continue its march on the road to progress and development and scale new peaks in 2019.
- Chandigarh, December 31: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal alongwith newly elected Mayors of five Municipal Corporations called on Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi in New Delhi today.
- Alongwith the Chief Minister, who met Mr Narendra Modi included newly elected mayors of five Municipal Corporations namely Mr Manmohan Goyal of Rohtak, Mrs Renu Bala Gupta of Karnal, Mr Gautam Sardana of Hisar, Mr Madan Singh Chauhan of Yamunanagar and Mrs Avnit Kaur of Panipat.
- During the meeting at Prime Ministers’ Office in Sansad Bhawan, besides the Chief Minister, MP Rajya Sabha and BJP General Secretary and Incharge of Party Affairs in Haryana Dr Anil Jain and BJP State President Mr Subhash Barala were also present.
- Later, while interacting with the media persons, BJP State President Mr Subhash Barala said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has taken a policy decision to hold direct elections of Mayors in Municipal Corporations. The decision would go a long way in stabilizing the system of Municipal Corporations, he added.
