  • Chandigarh, Jan 10 – As many as 42 nominations have been filed on the last day of filing nomination papers for the bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency.
  • While stating this today, Sub Divisional Magistrate and Returning Officer, Jind Assembly Constituency, Mr. Virender Sehrawat said that Dr. Krishan Lal Middha has filed nomination from BJP, Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala from Congress Party, Mr. Umed Singh Redhu from INLD party and Mr. Digvijay Singh Chautala from Jannayak Janta Party.
  • Others who have filed nomination papers included Ms. Sheetal from Rashtriya Mazdoor Ekta Party, Ms. Sunita from People’s Party of India, Ms. Vidyavati (Covering Candidate) from BJP Party, Independent Candidates Mr. Mangeram and Mr. Om Parkash, Pawan Jain from Rashtriya Azad Manch, Independent Candidate Mr. Rajender Singh, Mr. Satender Singh Dhull (Covering Candidate) from INLD Party, Independent Candidate Mr. Anshul Kumar Singla, Independent Candidate Mr. Ashok, Independent Candidate Mr. Harish Kumar, Independent Candidate Mr. Ramesh, Radhey Shyam from Samajik Nyay Party, Mr. Karamveer from People’s Party of India, Independent Candidate Mr. Vijender, Independent Candidate Mr. Ravinder Kumar, Mr. Sunil Kumar from Republican Party of India, Independent Candidate Mr. Sandeep Kumar son of Pirthi Singh, Independent Candidate Mr. Sandeep Kumar son of Ramphal, Mr. Kamal Kumar from Bhartiya Samajik Nyay Party, Independent Candidate Mr. Sukhbir Singh, Independent Candidate Mr. Anil Kumar, Independent Candidate Mr. Satpal, Mr. Vinod Aashri from Loktantra Suraksha Party, Independent Candidate Mr. Surender Bibipur and Independent Candidate Sant Dharambir Chotiwala.
  • Mr. Sehrawat said that some candidates have filed two to four nominations. Therefore the total number of candidates is 34 and total number of nominations is 42. While Dr. Krishan Lal Middha has filed four nominations, Independent Candidate Mr. Mangeram has filed two nominations, Mr. Umed Singh and Mr. Digvijay Singh from INLD Party both have filed two nominations each and Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala from Congress Party has filed two nominations.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 10 – With a view to ensure peaceful and transparent conduct of bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency, the Election Commission has appointed senior IAS officer Mr. Saurabh Bhagat as General Observer. A.E.E.O Mr. Rambhaj has been as Liaison Officer for the General Observer.

  • Chandigarh, Jan 10 – Brazil has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Haryana for assistance in Murrah breed improvement. In this direction, a five-member Brazilian Delegation called on the Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar, at his residence here late evening yesterday.
  • The delegation included Dr. Jose Ribamar Felipe Marques, Director, Buffalo Research and Development, Embrapa Eastern Amazon, Dr. Tarisio da Cruz Mesquita, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock and Dr. Guilherme Minssen, Technical Director, Federation of Agriculture and Livestock, Bele̓m, State of Para, Brazil, and Dr. Jose Otavio Lemos, Animal Scientist, ABCZ High Director, Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil and Mr. Venugopal Badaravada, Brazilian Citizen cum Member of Central Advisory Committee, Rashtriya Gokul Mission, Government of India.
  • On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Dr. Sunil Gulati informed that Haryana is interested in A2A2 Breed Improvement program with the help of ABCZ for testing A2A2 indigenous cows. Apart from this, the State is also willing to go for exchange of semen and can provide good quality of Murrah semen. He said that the experts from Brazil would impart training to teachers, students and officers of the Department at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar. Initially the training programme would be organised for three months, he added.
  • Others present on the occasion included Director General, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Mr. Hardeep Singh, Chairman, Pashudhan Vikas Board, representatives of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar and officers of the Department.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 10 – Haryana Governor, Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya has been honoured with honorary degree of Ph.D. by Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan in a function organised on the occasion of World Hindi Day at Patna, today. The degree has been conferred upon Mr. Arya for his contribution towards development of Hindi and Sanskrit languages in Bihar.
  • Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya remained MLA for eight times from Rajgir Assembly Constituency of district Nalanda. Apart from this, he was appointed to the post of Cabinet Minister twice. He started his political career by contesting 1972 elections from Rajgir. During his political career, he had worked for the rural development, education and uplift of poor in Rajgir as well as in entire Bihar state.
  • After receiving the honorary degree of P.hD., the Haryana Governor expressed gratitude towards the Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan constituted by the first President of independent India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad and congratulated all litterateurs of the country on the occasion of World Hindi Day.
  • Those present on the occasion included Acharya Shri Sudarshan Ji Maharaj, President, Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Dr. Anil Sulabh, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Nelan Prakash Topno, Chairman, Bihar Vidyapeeth, Mr. Vijoy Prakash and other dignitaries.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 10 – Under Direct Benefits Transfer system in Haryana, a total of 15,278 farmers against a target of 25,000 beneficiaries have availed the benefit under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) scheme.
  • This was informed in the 29th meeting of State Level Executive Committee of Haryana State Horticulture Development Agency held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers & Welfare Department, Mrs. Navraj Sandhu, here today.
  • Mrs. Sandhu reviewed the component-wise progress with utilization of funds and appreciated the efforts of officers and officials of State Horticulture Mission. She directed to give wide publicity to various programmes run by government under Horticulture Mission through various news papers and other means to make the farmers and stakeholders aware about subsidy programmes of the government.
  • The committee approved total 56 project proposals of mushroom cultivation, banana ripening chamber, roof top solar, cold storages, refrigerated van, planting infrastructure development and Integrated Post Harvest Management with the subsidy of Rs 14.50 crore under MIDH. The objective of setting up of these projects is to promote horticulture by doubling farmer income in the state with focus on post harvest management, marketing infrastructure development and mushroom cultivation.
  • Mission Director, State Horticulture Mission, Dr. B.S. Sehrawat informed that Government of India has approved AAP 2018-19 for an amount of Rs 183.33 crore under MIDH scheme. He said that first installment amounting Rs 50 crore has been released by Government of India. Funds amounting Rs 79.52 crore were available during the financial year 2018-19 (including balance of 2017-18). Till date Rs 77.73 crore was utilized which is 97.69 per cent of funds available, he added.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 10 – With a view to ensure peaceful completion of bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency, the Deputy Commissioner, Jind and District Electoral Officer, Mr. Amit Khatri has appointed two Duty Magistrates in Mini Secretariat.
  • District Development and Panchayat Officer, Mr. Rajesh Koth and Block Development has been appointed Duty Magistrate for old building area of Vita Booth located at Mini Secretariat and Panchayat Officer, Narwana, Mr. Rajesh Tiwana has been appointed Duty Magistrate for Mini Secretariat area located at Gohana road.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 10 – In view of the bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency, the Deputy Commissioner, Jind and District Electoral Officer, Mr. Amit Khatri has directed the officers and officials of all departments to remain present at the headquarters to ensure smooth completion of election process.
  • He directed that no officer or official would proceed on leave without approval. If any officer or official will not comply with these directions, the Election Commission would be requested to initiate strict action against the erring official under Section 32 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 10- Haryana government has issued transfer and posting orders of one IAS and two HCS officers with immediate effect.
  • Geeta Bharti, Special Secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) and Public Health Engineering Departments has been given the additional charge of Director and Special Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, during the leave period of Hema Sharma, HCS.
  • Among HCS officers, Ved Prakash, City Magistrate, Bhiwani has been posted as Managing Director, Cooperative Sugar Mills, Kaithal relieving Kanwar Singh of the said charge.
  • Kanwar Singh, Managing Director, Cooperative Sugar Mills, Kaithal and Registrar, National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra has been posted as City Magistrate, Bhiwani vice Ved Prakash.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 10 – Haryana Government has designated Mrs. Vandna Malik, Senior Accounts Officer, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department as State Public Information Officer in respect of the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department for the purpose of the Right to Information Act, 2005 and Rules.
