  • Chandigarh, Jan 11 – Haryana School Education Department would conduct counselling of newly appointed clerks (waiting) at Shiksha Sadan Panchkula on January 14, 2019. These clerks would have to bring along original and attested photo copies of documents of educational qualifications.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that list of 45 clerks (waiting), who have been appointed, has been uploaded on the website of the Department. The selected candidates as per seniority serial number 7, 16 and 28 would also have to bring photocopy of their application form, he added.
  • Chandigarh January 11 - Union Water Resources Minister, Mr Nitin Gadkari today inked an Agreement with Chief Ministers of six states of Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan for the construction of Renukaji multi-purpose dam project on Giri River, a tributary river of Yamuna in the Upper Yamuna Basin, in New Delhi today.
  • Besides Mr Nitin Gadkari, those who signed the agreement included Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr Trivendra Singh Rawat, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mr Jai Ram Thakur, Delhi Chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr Yogi Adityanath and Rajasthan Chief Minister Mr Ashok Gehlot. Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Mr Arjun Ram Meghwal and Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Mr Satya Pal Singh were also present on this occasion.
  • While interacting with the media persons during the signing of agreement, Mr Gadkari said that adequate water resources are available in the country. He said that it is the priority of the Centre Government to execute the proposed projects for the utilization of available water as per the State’s requirement adding that as a result of the three water storage dam projects to be constructed on Yamuna and its tributaries on Upper Yamuna Basin, adequate irrigation and drinking water would be available in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and National Capital Region Delhi.
  • Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal said that with the construction of three water storage dam projects namely Lakhwar multi-purpose Dam project, Renukaji Multi-purpose Dam project and Kishau Multi-purpose Dam project, Haryana would get 47.82 per cent water as its share.
  • It may be recalled that the 148 meter high Renukaji Dam project would be constructed  on Giri River (tributary of river Yamuna) in Sirmour District of Himachal Pradesh over 1508 hectares and at a cost of Rs 4596.76 crore.  Out of total project cost, the cost of irrigation/drinking water component is Rs. 4325.43 crore and the cost of power component is Rs. 277.33 crore. The 90 per cent cost of irrigation/drinking water component of the project that is  Rs. 3892.83 crore will be provided by the Central Government  and rest 10 per cent  that is  Rs. 432.54 crore will be provided by the basin States of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand , Himachal Pradesh,  Rajasthan and National Capital Region of  Delhi and the shares of these states are 47.82 per cent, 33.65 per cent, 3.15 per cent, 9.34 per cent and 6.04 per cent respectively.
  • The project is proposed to be executed by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (HPPCL). The live storage of Renukaji Multi Purpose Project is 0.404 MAF and would ensure water supply of 23 cumec water to basin states. After the construction of the said dam, the flow of river Giri will increase about 110 per cent. The project will also generate 40 MW of power. The Government of NCT of Delhi has agreed to fund 90 per cent of the cost of power component of the said project.
  • The Central government has so far released Rs. 446.96 crore for this project while the    Delhi Government has released Rs. 214.84 crore and Haryana Government has released Rs. 25 crore.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 11 – The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) of Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh will hold a 10 km Walkathon for its Golden Jubilee year 2018-19 on January 13, 2019.
  • While giving this information today, a spokesman of CISF said that the golden jubilee year of CISF is being celebrated in different parts of the country.  The Walkathon would be participated by about 150 officers and soldiers of this unit of CISF and various armed security forces.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 11 – The cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have so far produced over 9.97 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 111.96 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the current crushing season.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Shahabad has produced a maximum of over 1.86 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 19.99 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Cooperative Sugar Mill, Rohtak has produced over 1.58 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 18.60 lakh quintals of sugarcane, followed by Cooperative Sugar Mill, Kaithal which has produced over 1.18 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 12.90 lakh quintals of sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mill, Karnal, has produced over 1.07 quintals of sugar by crushing 11.71 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • Similarly, the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Meham has produced 94,550 quintals of sugar by crushing 11.83 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Palwal has produced 75,285 quintals of sugar by crushing 8.02 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Gohana has produced  73,690 quintals of sugar by crushing 8.75 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Panipat has produced 68,000 quintals of sugar by crushing 7.31 lakh quintals of sugarcane, and Cooperative Sugar Mill and  Sonipat has produced 27,350 quintals of sugar by crushing 3.35 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • Apart from this, HAFED Sugar Mill, Assandh has produced over 1.14 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 13.38 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that so far, the average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative sugar mills has been registered as 9.37 per cent.
