  • Chandigarh, January 14- Haryana Finance Minister, Capt Abhmanyu will inaugurate National Summit on Digital Innovation and Cyber Security  which will be organised by Haryana in association with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd at Gurugram on January 15, 2019.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that maintaining Cyber Security has become one of the most important challenges for industries and Government organisations alike. Finance Minister will also launch Cyber Security Toll Free Number for addressing the Cyber Security related concerns of the Citizen of Haryana and a Portal for building Cyber Security Hygiene among the Students with eLearning and eExam facilities. A special issue of eGov magazine will also be launched at this occasion.
  • The Summit will see participation from across India including Government of India, PSUs like Railtel, State like Maharashtra, Assam, Jharkhand, J&K, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh etc. and  regional directors of private sector partners like, HPE, LG Electronics, Symantec, Fortinet, Rein Cloud etc.
  • Principal Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Mr Ankur Gupta,  Managing Director, Hartron, Mr Vijayendra Kumar,  Additional Director General of Police (CID), Mr  Anil Kumar Rao,  will present the Cyber Security and Digital Haryana vision of the State.
  • Deliberations on topics like Securing Cyber Space for Digital Innovation; Governance through Innovation: Importance of Cloud Computing, Data Centre and  New Age Technology,  Leveraging Innovation, Securing Data: Challenges and Opportunities; and Ensuring Physicaland Cyber Security through Technology will be held during the Summit.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 14 – Deputy Commissioner, Jind, Mr. Amit Khatri said that duties have been assigned in view of the bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency.
  • He said that five Deputy Superintendents of Police have been deputed in Jind city. Three other observers have also been deputed. Apart from this, an officer of the Police Department has been deputed with the observer. He said that SDM and Returning Officer of bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency, Mr. Virender Singh Sehrawat has been appointed as Nodal Officer.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 14 – In view of the bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency, six candidates have withdrawn their nominations on the last day of withdrawing nominations.
  • Returning Officer, Mr. Virender Singh Sehrawat said that now no candidate would be able to withdraw his or her candidature.
  • Those who have withdrawn their candidature included Harish Kumar of Tailiyan Mohalla, Jind, Anshul Kumar of Gandhi Nagar, Jind, Ashok Goyal of Gandhi Nagar, Jind, Karamvir Singh of village Badhana, Rajender Singh of village Rupana district Bhiwani and Pawan Jain of Shyam Colony, Jind.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 14 – J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, on entering its 50th year of inception, has launched a Logo marking the Golden Jubilee of University as an institution. The Logo was unveiled by Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar.
  • The Chief Minister congratulated the University administration for Golden Jubilee year celebrations and hoped that the University would continue to lay emphasis on providing quality education to the students.
  • On the occasion, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Kumar also presented a special Golden Jubilee memento to the Chief Minister as a mark of remembrance. ‘In order to commemorate the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the University has planned a series of special initiatives, academic and cultural activities and seminars throughout the year to make the Golden Jubilee year memorable’, Vice Chancellor apprised the Chief Minister.
  • Vice Chancellor said that the University as an Institution of National importance was started in 1969 as an Indo-German project, a joint venture of the National Council of YMCAs of India, the Government of Haryana and the German Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, German with an aim to impart technical education to a developing India on German pattern. It has entered in the 50th year of its existence in year 2019. The University, with the favorable support of State Government, has marked its impression on the State and the National Level. This Institute, which was upgraded to the University in year 2009, has now developed into a leading teaching-cum-affiliating University. Therefore, the Golden Jubilee Year is a meaningful moment in its journey as an Educational Institution.
  • The winning design, which will be the emblem of University’s Golden Jubilee celebration, was created by the student of the University and was selected from amongst 70 entries that came from the students, faculty and alumni of the Institution.
  • The final design that has emerged is quite simply very representative of our Institution in a way that no other logo possibly could have been, and I think that alone gives it its significance, said Dr. Sandeep Grover, the convener of Golden Jubilee year celebrations.
  • He said that Golden Jubilee Logo is a visual expression of 50 years of Institutional excellence and commitment on the path of spreading knowledge and wisdom. The ribbon at the bottom adorns the slogan “Vidhya Param Bhushnam” which in letter and spirit symbolizes the pillar of Institutional values. The book of knowledge and wisdom is shown throwing the light on elements in the centre of the logo representing continued 50 years of Institutional excellence in the arena of Science and Technology.
  • All the elements, representing Science and Technology, are shown working in harmony to create a holistic picture of the University, recently named as J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology. This is in the honour of one of the most prolific and successful Indian scientist, Jagadish Chandra Bose, whose immense contributions, ranging from his work on wireless information transfer to drawing parallelism between various life forms and plants, resonates with true Indian values, said Dr. Atul Mishra, the convener of Logo design committee.
  • The Logo design activity was coordinated and conceptualised by the team of Animation and Multimedia.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 14 – On the occasion of Makar Sakranti today, thousands of youth of district Jhajjar, who have got enrolled as registered voter, took a resolve to cast their first vote for the country by participating in ‘Run for Country-Vote for Country’.
  • The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar flagged off the Run which was organised jointly by Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Development and Panchayats Department, GRAVIT and NGO Samartha.
  • Among girls, the ‘Run for Country-Vote for Country’ was won by Babli, daughter of Pawan, a resident of village Dhaud and among boys, Sunil, S/o Jaibhagwan, a resident of village Kulasi has won the Run.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 14 – In view of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Call Centres would be established in all election offices in Haryana.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that service of toll free number 1950 would be given in all these call centres through which voters would be able to get any information related to their vote.
  • He said that in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections, names of eligible youth, who have attained 18 years of age, are being added to the voter list. He said that programmes are being organised to make youth aware about their vote. Apart from this, district level functions would be organised on the occasion of National Voters’ Day on January 25 in which the new voters would be honoured with voter identity card and, officers and officials, who have contributed significantly towards success of vote making campaign, would also be honoured.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 14 – Charkhi Dadri, the new district of Haryana, which was part of district Bhiwani earlier, has now got its own separate District Election Office. Deputy Commissioner, Charkhi Dadri, Mr. Ajay Singh Tomar has been appointed as District Electoral Officer.
  • While stating this today, 232 polling centres have been established in Dadri Assembly Constituency of the district and there are total 1,83,868 voters. Similarly, there are 239 booths in Badhda Assembly Constituency and total 1,76,299 voters. He said that there are total 471 booths in Dadri and Badhda Assembly Constituencies. He said that 3181 news votes have been made in Dadri and 3688 in Badhda. The voter list of both Assembly Constituencies would be updated by next week. Thereafter, claims and objections would be registered on it, he added.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 14 – Haryana has bagged four awards for its good performance under the National Programme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP). The state would be awarded in a function to be organised by the Central Government on the occasion of National Girl Child Day (NGCD) at New Delhi on January 24, 2019. The state has bagged one state level and three district level awards under this prestigious programme. 
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Haryana has been selected in the state level category ‘Over all support, guidance, monitoring and achieving the targets of BBBP’. He said that three districts of Haryana included Jhajjar, Kurukshetra and Karnal. District Jhajjar has been selected in the category ‘Enabling Girl Child Education’ and district Kurukshetra in category ‘Enforcement of Pre Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act’. Similarly, district Karnal has been selected in the category ‘Effective Community Engagement’.
  • He said that BBBP is completing four years of its implementation. In order to mark the fourth anniversary of BBBP, the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has decided to recognize and felicitate five States/UTs and 25 districts for their exemplary performance under BBBP. The theme of the National Girl Child Day is Empowering Girls for a Brighter Tomorrow. The day is being celebrated with an objective to generate awareness on the issue of declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and create a positive environment around valuing the girl child.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 14 – Director General,  Information, Public Relations and Languages Department,  Haryana Mr. Sameer Pal Srow  today directed that films related to welfare schemes of the government should be telecasted during ‘Ratri Thehrav Karyakram’ organised by the Department so that people are made aware about these schemes and avail maximum benefits.
  • Mr. Srow was presiding over meeting with senior officers of the Department at Panchkula near here today.
  • He directed the District Information Public Relations Officers to keep  the Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram accounts updated and send  constructive suggestions so that the Departmental website is made more people friendly.
  • The Director General said that through Saral Portal, the Department is providing online facilities such as accreditation of media persons, pension of Matribhasha Satyagrahis' of Hindi Andolan and application for pension to media persons. He directed the district level officers to ensure forwarding such proposals through Saral Portal. He said that on pilot project basis, the Department has prepared a scheme to show films related to schemes and policies of the government by installing LEDs on vans. Initially, the districts of Karnal, Faridabad, Ambala and Gurugram would be covered on pilot basis, he added.  
  • He said that the schemes of the government would be depicted as wall paintings in all the villages across the state so as to disseminate information about the schemes to the people. Apart from this, hoarding carrying information of public welfare schemes would be installed at all petrol pumps in the state. He said that there is a plan to install screens which would display schemes of the government.         
  • He said that the district officers should visit Antyodaya Bhavans every month and ensure distribution of publicity material of the Department. He said that in order to ensure smoothly organizing of ‘Ratri Thehrav Karyakram’ in rural areas, the Deputy Commissioner, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, SHO and Sarpanch should be informed to avoid any kind of inconvenience.
  • On this occasion, Mr. Srow also reviewed different publicity activities being undertaken in the districts.
  • On the occasion Additional Director (Admn), Mr. Satish Kumar Jain and Joint Director (Admn), Mrs. Gauri Midha assured the Director General that all out efforts would be made to ensure compliance of the directions given by him which would yield positive results.
