  • Chandigarh, Jan 24 – The Central Government has presented one State level and three district level awards to Haryana for outstanding work under the National Programme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’.
  • The Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Mrs. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi presented state level awards to five states including Haryana, in a function organised on the occasion of On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, at New Delhi today. The 25 districts which have been awarded included three districts of Haryana namely Jhajjar, Karnal and Kurukshetra.
  • The Haryana Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain received the State level award given in the category ‘Over all support, guidance, monitoring and achieving the targets of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP). She said that the Haryana Government would continue to make concerted efforts for making the National Programme more successful.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Jain described the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao as the most important social campaign. She said that Haryana would always be proud of the fact that the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had launched the National Programme of BBBP from Haryana. As a result of the concerted efforts taken by the present State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, there has been considerable improvement in balancing the sex ratio in the state.
  • She said that it is the priority of the State Government to ensure education to girls. Haryana has succeeded in controlling the dropout rate of girls in schools. The State Government has taken significant steps towards women empowerment. In this direction, Haryana has been awarded with ‘Nari Shakti Samman’ by the President.
  • She said that district Jhajjar has been awarded in the category ‘Enabling Girl Child Education’ and district Kurukshetra in category ‘Enforcement of Pre Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act’. Similarly, district Karnal has been awarded in the category ‘Effective Community Engagement’. The awards to districts Jhajjar, Karnal and Kurukshetra were received by concerned Deputy Commissioners namely Ms. Sonal Goel, Dr. Aditya Dahiya and Dr. Satyavir Singh Phulia, respectively.
  • Principal Secretary, Haryana Women and Child Development Department, Mr. Raja Sekhar Vundru was also present on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 24 – Haryana Director General of Police (DGP), Mr B.S. Sandhu today announced that Haryana Police and HDFC Bank would provide scholarship awards to the tune of Rs five lakh each among the meritorious students of DAV Police Public Schools, every year. Besides this, best teachers in all 22 police public schools will also be awarded cash prize of Rs. 11,000 each by the Police Department and the bank. These awards will be given from next year.
  • Mr Sandhu was addressing the gathering during the presentation of scholarship awards to the students in a function at DAV Police Public School, Ambala today. The function was organized by HDFC Bank to honour meritorious students under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchanged with the Police Department.
  • On this occasion, 59 meritorious students from IX to XII classes were given HDFC Scholarship Award under which Rs 11,000 each is given to six students whereas 15 students received Rs 5,100 each, 18 students got Rs 3,100 each and 20 students received award money of Rs 2,100 each.
  • Congratulating the awardees’ students, DGP said that Police Public Schools are functioning as temples of learning, where children of both police and the general public were being given qualitative and value-based education.
  • Speaking on this occasion, Additional Director General of Police, Ambala Range, Dr. R.C. Mishra said that Haryana Police in collaboration with HDFC bank had introduced a number of welfare schemes and programmes for the welfare of policemen and their family members.
  • Superintendent of Police, Ambala, Mrs Astha Modi, Superintendent of Police, GRP, Mr Dheeraj Setia, Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, Mr Rajinder Nath, Principal, DAV Police Public School, Mr Vikas Kohli, Branch Banking Head, HDFC, Mr Vineet Arora, Circle Head, Mr Lalit Batra, Zonal Head, Mr Manish Manglesh, Principal, Nodal Officer, Mr Rajiv Mehra, Anoop Verma and teachers and students of school were also present on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 24- Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr D.S. Dhesi will launch the voters' helpline toll-free number 1950, on the occasion of National Voters' Day on January 25, 2019 from Ambala city.
  • While giving details in this regard, Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Mr. Rajiv Ranjan said that through this Voters Helpline Toll-Free Number, the voters would be able to get all updated information, while sitting at home. One can get information by sending an SMS or making a call on ‘1950’. The Election Commission of India has issued the toll-free number 1950 for the convenience of the voters.
  • He said that all information related to voters’ name, address, booth etc would be available on entering Electoral Photo ID Card (EPIC) number. He said that if any voter wants to get information from any district, they can get the information on dialing STD code before the toll-free number.  
  • He said that all calls received on the toll-free number would be recorded and the facility of voice message would also be given to the voters to provide them all information.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 24- Haryana Government has given additional charge to two IAS officers, with immediate effect.
  • G. Anupama, Administrator, Trade Fair Authority of Haryana, New Delhi, Commissioner, Faridabad Division, Faridabad, Special Commissioner, Health and Nutrition, Mewat Area and Chairperson, Mewat Development Agency, Nuh, has been given the additional charge of Chief Administrator, Trade Fair Authority of Haryana, New Delhi.
  • Deepti Umashankar, Principal Secretary, Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department and Commissioner, Ambala Division, Ambala, has been given the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Monitoring and Coordination Department.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 24: Haryana Government has given in principle approval for the construction of 51 Road Over Bridges (ROBs) or Road Under Bridges(RUBs) in lieu of Level Crossings on various roads across the state (excluding Jind district) as construction of these ROBs or RUBs would help in reducing the accidents and would also ensure smooth train operations.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that a proposal to this effect has been approved by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal. Those Level Crossings (LCs) would be converted into Road Over Bridges or Road Under Bridges which have Train Vehicle Unit (TVU) more than one lakh. 
  • He said that the works of ROBs and RUBs in NCR area would be taken up the Haryana State Roads and Bridges Development Corporation (HSRDC) and non NCR area by Public Works (Building and Roads) Department (PWD) on cost sharing basis with Railways.
  • Giving details about LCs to be made ROBs or RUBs, he said that these would be constructed at five places in Ambala district, two in Hisar, three in Kurukshetra, five in Gurugram, three in Jhajjar, eight in Rohtak, three in Kaithal, one in Sonipat, seven in Panipat, six in Rewari, one in Fatehabad, two in Sirsa, three in Bhiwani, one in Mahendergarh and one in district Charkhi Dadri.
  • Giving further details about places of these 51 LCs to be made ROBs or RUBs, he said that these include in district Ambala at RD 198+500 under military area, Ambala City, Shahpur(Ambala Cantt), Machhounda (Ambala Cantt) and Dhulkot/Sultanpur, (Ambala Cantt), in district Hisar at Hisar and at Hisar City. Similarly in  Kurukshetra at Samalkhi(Shahbad), at Thanesar and  at Ambedkar Chowk to Thanesar city. In Gurugram at Hayatpur(Farukhnagar), at Dhanawas (Farukhnagar) and Patli (Farukhnagar), at Sultanpur (Farukhnagar) and at Garhi Sadhrana,  in district Jhajjar at Parnala, at Sankhol and at Jakhoda.
  • Similarly, in district Rohtak at Shimli Banbhewa road (Road ID 1780), at High embankment road over drain no. 8, at Southern byepass road, at Sampla to Karainti road, at Lakhan Majra to Karainti Railway Station, at Old NH-10 passing through Rohtak city, at Rohtak Sonepat SH-18 road passing through Rohtak city and at Kalanaur Basana Road (Road ID 1764). In district Kaithal two at Kaithal city and one at Teek (Pundri), in district Sonepat at Gannaur City, in district Panipat at Manana (Samalkha), at Diwana, at Faridpur, at Ganjbar, at Madlauda and two at Bhinjhol. In district Rewari at near Government ITI, at Rewari Narnaul road to Govindpuri near Nangal Mundi, at Dahina(Zainabad), at Near Ahir College, Rewari and two more at Rewari. In district Fatehabad at village Bhattu. In district Sirsa at Mandi Dabwali and at Sirsa, in district Bhiwani at Loharu city and two at Bhiwani city. In district Mahendergarh at Narnaul city and in district Charkhi Dadri at Charkhi Dadri city, respectively.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 24 – A Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) conclave will be organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Karnal on January 25, 2019.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said the conclave is being organised to inform about various schemes of the State Government and Central Government, and funding institutions for the industry.
  • He said that the introductory remarks in the Conclave would be presented by Chairman, Agriculture Sub Committee, Mr. Bhushan Goel and Chairman, Haryana State Chapter, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Pranav Gupta would present the welcome address. He said that General Manager (GM), Small Industries Development Bank of India, Mr. Rahul Priyadarshi and GM, State Bank of India, Mr. Mrigendra Lal Das would give information about funding schemes by banking institutions. Apart from this, Associate Manager, Bombay Stock Exchange, Mr. Royal Benjimen would inform about benefits of listing on BSE. While, Additional Director, Haryana Industries and Commerce Department, Mr. Jaideep Kapoor would highlight the incentive scheme by the State Government, the Director, MSME-DI, Mr. Major Singh would highlight the incentive schemes by MSME Ministry.
  • Chairman, MSME Sub Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Lokesh Jain would present vote of thanks, he added.
