  • Chandigarh, Jan 29 – Haryana Government has given additional charge of Additional Labour Commissioner, Gurugram to Sanjiv Kumar, HCS, Sub Divisonal Officer (Civil), Gurugram-I and Secretary, Commission of Enquiry headed by Mr Justice (Retd.) S.N. Jha at Gurugram.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 29 – MLA from Tohana, Haryana, Mr Subhash Barala said that the committee constituted to grant pension to the farmers has prepared the draft, and after discussing the remaining aspects, the committee will shortly make its report and submit it to the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
  • Mr. Barala gave this information while presiding over meeting of the Committee, here today.
  • Mr. Barala said that the Committee will soon submit its report to the government so that the government can start the further process. Members of the Committee MLA Mr. Abhay Singh Yadav, MLAs Mr. Mahipal Dhanda, Mr. Ghanshyam Das Arora, Mr. Pawan Saini and Director General, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi attended the meeting.
  • Mr. Barala said that the committee has been discussing all aspects and in the next meeting, opinion of the members of the Committee and agricultural scientists, progressive women farmers and women scientists would also be taken so that their suggestions could be incorporated in the scheme. He  said that after next meeting, the committee will finalize the report and submit it to the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
  • He said that the data has been received from the concerned departments and on the basis of the data, the Committee has prepared the draft. In the next meeting, the final decision on topics such as distribution system will be taken by the Committee and report would be finalized.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 29 – Haryana Government has promoted six officials of Technical Wing of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department to the post of Technical Assistant (M and S).
  • Those promoted included Mr. Dimpal Bindra posted at headquarters, Mr. Rohit Hooda posted at Bahadurgarh, Mr. Naveen Kumar posted at Rohtak, Mr. Sandeep Kumar posted at Karnal, Mr. Harish Kumar posted at Panchkula and Mr. Harish Kumar posted at Fatehabad (Tohana).
  • Chandigarh, Jan 29- The Haryana Government has decided to honor five eminent personalities of Haryana, who have been honored with Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri on Republic Day-2019.
  • While stating this here today, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Mr. Om Prakash Dhankar said that the Haryana Farmers Welfare Commission will honour these personalities in a special function organized at Haryana Panchayat Bhawan, here on January 30, 2019.
  • It is worth mentioning that Padma Bhushan has been conferred on Darshan Lal Jain for social work, Kanwal Singh Chauhan for Agriculture, Narendra Singh and Sultan Singh for Animal Husbandry and Dairy, and Wrestler Bajrang Poonia has been honoured with Padma Shri in the field of sports. He said that the dignitaries of other neighboring states, who are honored with Padma Shri in Animal Husbandry and Dairy sector, are also being invited to this event.
  • Mr. Dhankar informed that those honoured with Padma Shri in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry would be source of inspiration for young farmers. The initiative taken by Haryana will surely go help in achieving the goal set by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi of doubling the income of farmers by the year 2022.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 29 - Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh has directed the officers to run a special campaign to fulfill the government's target to make the roads of the state free of potholes and the work should be monitored at headquarters level. Officers from Junior Engineer to the Chief Engineer should monitor every single kilometer of road and make sure to fill all the potholes immediately.

  • The Minister directed the officials that recently the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has approved construction of 51 Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under Bridges (RUBs). The Chief Minister himself is taking cognizance of timely construction of these ROBs and RUBs. He said that after completing the tender process, the files of estimation of all kinds of work should be cleared within one week. He specifically directed the Chief Engineer, Mr. Rakesh Manocha to ensure that the progress report of the construction work is made available to him personally on daily basis. The monitoring of Fixed Deficit Liability of contractors should also be ensured properly, he added.
  • Those present in the meeting included Chief Administrator, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran, Mr. D. Suresh, Technical Advisor, Mr. Vishal Seth and officers of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board and Engineering Wing of Urban Local Body Department.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 29 - After peaceful completion of the polling process in Jind yesterday, the Electronic Voting Machines have been sealed and kept in the strong room. To hear complaints received during the by-election, General Observer Mr. Saurabh Bhagat held a meeting with various candidates or their representatives, Micro Observer and Presiding Officers at the counting center, today. In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mr. Amit Khatri was also present.
  • The General Observer interacted with the candidates or their representatives present in the meeting regarding the complaints received during the voting. He said that complete surveillance has been conducted during voting and wherever a complaint was received, prompt action was taken. He said that most of the complaints were found to be baseless and the video clippings were also seen to ascertain the realities of the complaints received. About 15 complaints were received in which no truth was found. He said that the District Administration was fully alert  and the polling was held in Jind Assembly peacefully. He also appreciated the cooperation of the people in this work. Some centers also witnessed rift among agents, who were sent out by the officials. There were complaints about huge crowd of voters at some polling stations, he added.
  • Representatives of all the candidates present in the meeting thanked the District Administration for the peaceful completion of the polling process.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 29 - The bye-election to Jind Assembly Constituency of Haryana has been concluded peacefully. Counting centre has been made in multi-purpose hall of Arjun Stadium, Jind and proper security arrangements have been made there.
  • Returning Officer and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mr. Virender Sehrawat said that adequate security arrangements have been made at the counting centre and security arrangements have been ensured by installing 10 CCTV cameras. Cameras have been installed at each gate of the strong room. In many circles, the security personnel and personnel of paramilitary have been deployed, who are giving round the clock duty. The entire campus of Arjun Stadium and outside activities are being monitored with the help of cameras.
  • Mr. Sehrawat said that the counting of votes will be done in the presence of General Observer, Mr. Saurabh Bhagat. The Electronic Voting Machines used in the polling have been kept in the strong room and the strong room has been sealed under the supervision of the Observer. Paramilitary personnel are deputed outside the strong room and machines which were used in the work of EVM training were kept in EVM Ware House.
  • Returning Officer said that the counting will begin on January 31 at 8 a.m. and 14 tables are being set up for counting, and counting on each table would be carried out by a supervisor and a counting assistant. He said that the work of counting will be completed in 13 rounds and after the counting of votes, adequate staff duty is being deputed to seal EVM machines and deposit them in the lock room. He said that 174 EVMs have been used on 174 booths.
  • He said that the process of counting will be kept completely transparent. To see the complete process of counting, big size LEDs would be installed outside the hall for the media. The counting process will also be available online on the portal of the Election Commission of India. During the counting, nominated agents will be present on behalf of each candidate.
  • He said that entry passes of the agents will be made. He asked the candidates that they should appoint their counting agents and get their photo identity cards made besides getting completed the police verification process.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 29 – Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police has arrested a man with 150 gram heroin, worth lakh of rupees from the road between Ottu head and Sirsa in district Sirsa.  
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that the accused has been identified as Satnam Singh alias Kaka, a resident of Sehzipur, district Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. During interrogation, it was revealed that seized contraband was to be supplied in Rania and Hanumangarh area. A case under NDPS Act has been registered against the accused in Sadar Police Station, Sirsa.
  • He said that CIA team, during patrolling between Ottu head and Sirsa had spotted a suspicious man near Government School, village Chakraiyan. The suspect  was intercepted and checked by police team, 150 gram heroin was recovered from his possession.
  • Director General of Police (DGP), Mr B.S. Sandhu had already given directives to completely crush the menace of drug peddling and its distribution network in the state. Mr Sandhu also urged the people to come forward fearlessly, and share information against the sale, consumption and use of narcotics in the state so as to help the police to completely curb drug menace from the society.
