  • Chandigarh, Feb 3 - A delegation led by President and Vice Chancellor,  Cape Breton, University, Canada, Mr  David C. Dingwall  today met the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and discussed areas of mutual interest in the field of education and research.
  • Mr David C. Dingwall gave introduction of the University and showed interest in the exchange programme with the Universities of Haryana.
  • Discussions were held in the meeting regarding other key areas of mutual interest such as  nano-technology, health, education, agriculture, medical education and social science
  • Chandigarh, February 3- Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr  D.S. Dhesi said that Surajkund fair is  a major centre of cultural exchanges as it provide platform to know the culture of other countries. This world famous fair, not only provides employment to lakhs of people but is also a main stage of preserving the Haryanavi cultural heritage. 
  • The Chief Secretary visited the ongoing 33rd Surajkund International Craft Mela in Faridabad today.
  • Mr. Dhesi congratulated the Mela Authority and the district administration for making all best arrangements.  He said that the  grandeur of mela is increasing and it has become center of attraction for all sections. As compared to previous years, this time, representatives of more number of countries have participated in the fair.
  • On the occasion, the Chief Secretary, also sought the information regarding Madhogarh Fort on the main road in Mahendragarh.  Officials informed him about tourism nearby Madhogarh fort.
  • After this, the Chief Secretary went around the stalls put up in the fair. He also sought information about handicrafts at a stall of Thailand country. He also visited the stalls of South Africa, Netherland and at the stalls of many Indian artisans. He also went around the replica of Raigarh Fort of Maharashtra.
  • Those present included Additional Chief Secretary, Excise and Taxation, Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Hrayana Tourism, Mr Vijai Vardhan and others.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 3 – Haryana Government has invited applications for the appointment of Chief Commissioner in the Haryana Right to Service Commission.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Government has constituted a body under the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014, known as the Haryana Right to Service Commission. The Commission has a Chief Commissioner and upto four Commissioners.
  • He said that the Chief Commissioner will be a serving or retired officer in the rank and status of the Chief Secretary of the state of Haryana or Secretary to Government of India.
  • He said that the Chief Commissioner will hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier and will not be entitled for re-appointment. The salary and allowances payable to and other terms and other conditions of service applicable to the Chief Commissioner will be same as the State Chief Information Commissioner as laid down in sub section (5) of the section 16 of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
  • He said that the Government has constituted a Search Committee to search for and recommend suitable candidates to the Statutory Committee, constituted as prescribed under the Act for appointment of Chief Commissioner in the Haryana Right to Service Commission.
  • He said that the Search Committee will comprise of Mrs Keshni  Anand Arora, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Department as Chairperson, Mr T V SN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department and  Dr B K Kuthiala, Chairperson, Haryana State Higher Education Council as members.
  • He said that persons fulfilling the criteria for appointment as Chief Commissioner and interested to the post can send their particulars in the prescribed performa to the office of Additional Chief Secretary, Administrative Reforms Department, Room No 303, 3rd Floor, Haryana New Secretariat, Sector 17, Chandigarh within  30 days from the issue of these instructions. While applying for the post of Chief Commissioner, the applicant must indicate whether any criminal case has been registered against him or her, whether the applicant has been charge sheeted for any criminal offence or whether the applicant has been convicted by the competent court for any criminal offence. He said that the persons who are serving under the State or Central Government may send their particulars through proper channel.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 3-  Haryana Cabinet will meet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal at committee room, fourth floor, Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh on February 4, 2019 at 1.00 p.m.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 3- In Haryana, the 22nd All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) of the country will be established in Village Manethi, District Rewari.  An area of over 200 acres has been identified for this purpose.
  • While stating this here, an official spokesman said that it is a matter of great pride for the State that the Interim Union Finance Minister, Mr Piyush Goyal  has announced 22nd AIIMS in Haryana in his budget speech.
  • He said that this is a major achievement for the State Government with the due efforts of Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and Health Minister Mr Anil Vij.
  • He said that Government of India is establishing All India Institute of Medical Sciences in various under-served States with the intention to correct regional imbalances in the availability of affordable/reliable Tertiary Health Care Services and also to augment facilities for quality Medical Education in Graduate, Post Graduate and Super-speciality level in the country.
  • He said that establishment of AIIMS in the State will provide opportunity for the youth of Haryana to undergo both under Graduate and Post Graduate Medical Education in all its branches and relevant fields to bring together educational facilities of the highest order at one place which will also mitigate the prevailing shortage of doctors in the State. This Centre of Excellence in medical education, training, healthcare and research imbued with scientific culture, compassion for the sick and commitment to serve the under privileged will prove to be a boon to the State.
  • He said that another important Government of India Project, National Cancer Institute at Badsa District Jhajjar, the first Institute in Northern India to have Proton facility for treatment of cancers, would likely to be fully functional by February or March 2019. The Outreach Outdoor Patient Department at the AIIMS extension campus has been functional since November, 2012 with daily OPD of 800-1000 patients at present.
  • Further to attain excellence in the field of health care, dedicated skilled clinicians, researchers are required through fundamental education and training in the centre of excellence Institutes like AIIMS. In order to provide quality health care facilities to the people of Haryana and to take care of growing demand of doctors, the State Government envisages having a Medical College and Hospital in every district. At present apart from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak three more Government Medical Colleges have been opened by the State Government namely Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women, Khanpur Kalan, Sonepat, Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar, Nuh and Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal.
  • He said that Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal was inaugurated by the Chief Minister  on April  13,  2017 and the said Institute admitted its first batch of 100 MBBS Students in the Academic Session 2017-18. The Government Aided Medical College in Hisar namely Maharaj Agarsen Government Medical College Agroha has increased the MBBS intake from 50 to 100 seats from the academic session 2016-17. In addition three Private Medical Colleges have been established in the State namely World College of Medical Sciences and Research, Gurawar, Jhajjar (150 MBBS Seats), N.C. Medical College, Israna, Panipat (150 MBBS Seats) and Adesh Medical College, Shahabad, Kurukshetra.
  • A number of achievements in the field of Medical Education and provision of Tertiary Health Care Facilities have been made in the already existing Medical Colleges of the State.  The State of Art 120 Beds Dhanwantri Apex Trauma Centre has become operational since January 2018 and a 200 Beds Apex Mother and Child Hospital (largest in the North India) has been operationalized recently in PGIMS, Rohtak. New Super Speciality (DM/MCh) have been started in PGIMS, Rohtak and 24x7 MRI/CT Scan facility on PPP is being provided to the people of Haryana since March 2016 in all Government Medical Colleges.
  • The other major upcoming project in the Department of Medical Education and Research in Haryana is Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayay University of Health Sciences which  is being established at Village Kutail, Karnal. The construction work of the Health University will start within three months. A Government Medical College is being established at Bhiwani by upgrading the District Hospital to a teaching hospital. This Government Medical College is being established under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Government of India. The construction will start within three months. Similarly a Government Medical College is being established in Gurugram and another is being constructed in Narnaul. State Government is in the process of establishing Government Medical Colleges at Jind, and Ambala also. A Government Dental College will also be established in the premises of Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar, Nuh.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 3-  With a view to provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the state, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has approved opening of  two Ayurvedic Dispensaries besides upgradation of one Primary Health Centre to Community Health Centre and  a Sub Health Centre to Primary Health Centre in the state.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Chief Minister has approved one Ayurvedic Dispensary at village Kalesar in district Yamunanagar and another Ayurvedic Dispensary at Jat Dharamshala, Arya Nagar, Sonipat.  Likewise, the Chief Minister has given approval to upgrade Primary Health Centre, Khonda Kheri, Narnaul to Community Health Centre and upgrade Sub Health Centre, Taharpur, district Yamunanagar to Primary Health Centre. Approval has also been granted for the creation of posts in these health institutions, he added.
  • He said that a large number of posts including that of medical officers, Ayurvedic dispensers, senior medical officers, dental surgeons and assistants, pharmacists, staff nurses, lab technicians and radiographers besides other staff have also been approved.
  • Besides this, two unauthorised colonies, Municipal Corporation, Hisar, District Hisar namely, Tower Colony and Devilal Colony have been approved to be notified as Civic Amenities and Infrastructural Deficient Areas.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 3– Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has given administrative approval for the construction of a bye pass (Western Peripheral Road) in Gohana city of District Sonepat. This bypass will be constructed at a cost of about Rs 238.54 crore. Three flyovers would also be constructed on this bye-pass.
  • Giving this information today, an official spokesman said that the western bye pass (Western Peripheral Road) to be constructed for Gohana city, will be 7.50 km long and it would pass through the drain no. 8 near village Mahra.  He said that the Gohana city is located about 80 km from Delhi and is growing fast in different areas such as technical education, medical education and agriculture. The traffic volume has increased tremendously in the city and there remains traffic problem.
  • He said that keeping in view the demand of the people of Gohana and the saving lot of precious time of road users, the State Government would construct a bye pass (Western Peripheral Road) in Gohana.  Earlier, the Chief Minister had made an announcement for the construction of this bye pass to ease out the traffic congestion in the growing city of Gohana, he added.
