  • In a letter written to Union Finance Minister, Mr Piyush Goyal, Mr Manohar Lal said that the State Government is ready to bear any additional cost on account of utility shifting charges and to execute any lease agreement with Railways for the land to be used for the construction of approaches within Railway boundary as per the revised site plan.
  • The Chief Minister said that the Railways have approved a plan for the construction of above mentioned RUB after joint inspection on May 2, 2018. In this proposal, RUB is to be constructed along with approaches in a straight line. This plan is not feasible because of the fact that there are roads parallel to the track on both the sides. He said that for safe movement of traffic, service roads need to be constructed at ground level to cater to traffic moving parallel to railway line. Sufficient land width is not available for construction of service road.
  • He said that a U-type RUB would be more suitable for this site. After another joint inspection Railway Authorities were approached for approval of the revised drawings. But the officers of Railways are hesitant as the work has already been allotted to the contractual agency for the construction of RUB as per original approved drawings. Since the scope or alignment of work of construction of RUB by Railways would remain the same there should not be any hitch in accepting the revised proposal, he added.
