  • Chandigarh February 16: Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that we are proud of our farmers working in the fields and our brave soldiers safeguarding and protecting our borders. Today, our farmers have set new dimensions in the field of agriculture by way of adopting latest techniques, he added.
  • Mr Ram Bilas Sharma was speaking as a Chief Guest in the 4th agri leadership summit 2019 being organized at India International Horticulture Market at Gannaur in district Sonipat today.  Expressing condolences on the martyrdom of brave jawans of CRPF in Avantipore area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that we are proud on the bravery and supreme sacrifice of our soldiers and would not let their sacrifice go in vain.
  • Mr Sharma said that three farmers of the State have been honoured with prestigious Padama Shri Award which a matter of pride. During the last four-and-a-half years, two time increase has been made in the crop price of farmers. The rate of Bajra has increased from Rs 990 per quintal to Rs 1950 per quintal; he said adding that Haryana is the first state in the county to give highest price of sugarcane.
  • The Education Minister said that  be it the hailstorm in the year 2015 or attack of white fly on cotton, the present State Government has given compensation amounting to Rs 2600 crore to the affected farmers which is highest so far. The Centre Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal have been taking effective steps for the welfare of farmers. The scheme like Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana is a boon for the farmers, he added.
  • Speaking on this occasion, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr Kanwar Pal said that the Government has given due honour to the farmers. He said that today our children are getting engaged in business of cattle rearing and said that it should be made a part of farming. He also stressed the need of adopting mixed farming by the farmers so as to enhance their income. He congratulated the farmers for participating in agri leadership summit and urged them to refrain from burning crop residue in the fields.
  • Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P Dhankar said that today we are fast progressing towards making agriculture a profitable business. Various unique initiatives have been taken in this direction. He said that we have also decided to give Krishi Ratan Award to 25 farmers of the State. The Central Government too has recognized the farmers of Haryana for their outstanding work in the field of agriculture and honoured three farmers of the State with Padma Shri Award. He said that we want to ensure that farmers of the State meet the demand of milk, fruits, flowers and vegetable of Delhi. Therefore, we are developing a flower mandi in Gurugram.
  • Transport Minister Mr Krishan Lal Panwar said that Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal have implemented various welfare schemes for the farmers. He said that 44,000 farmers in the State are being given electricity connections.
  • Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr. Karan Dev Kamboj said that earlier the biggest problem for us was that the farmer’s son was not willing to do farming but today we are working towards making agriculture a profitable venture.
  • Chandigarh, February 16- Haryana Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar  said that   the first Haryana Kisan Ratna award will be given to Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. The President, Mr Ram Nath Kovind will confer this award  to the University  during the closing ceremony of 4th Agri Summit on February 17 in  Gannaur, Sonipat  .
  • He told that Haryana Agricultural University has done a great job in the field of agricultural revolution in Haryana and the committee constituted for the award has taken this decision. Under this award 
  • Rs five lakh and a citation will be given. This award has been instituted  by the State Government for  farmers and individuals, institutes and scientists working in the area  of  agriculture and farmers' welfare  as a Lifetime Achievement  award.
  • Mr Dhakhar said that  the State Government has decided to confer Haryana  Kirshi Ratna award for  doing outstanding work in 25 different crops including paddy, millet, fish farming, production and others.  Harvindra was awarded on Feb 16 for improving the quality of potato seeds for horticulture. Rs One lakh and a citation is being given as a reward.
  • Chandigarh, February 16 -  Haryana Election Department has decided  to organise special camps in all the polling stations of the state on  February 23 and 24, 2019 for the convenience of the youth, who have   completed 18 years of age on January 1, 2019 and  those  voters who have been left out for some reason   to apply for voter cards.
  • Giving details about this, a spokesman of the department said that all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in the state will be present on February 23 and 24, 2019, at their respective polling station with a copy of the current voter list published on January 31, 2019.  In order to include names of those youth which are missing from the list, BLOs will help them to fill Form 6 and complete all other formalities.
  • He said that the youth will have to go to his nearest polling station with only two passport size photographs and residential proof   to fill Form No.6. He said that the youth can apply online also by visiting www.nvsp.in and toll-free number 1950 could also be contacted for more information.
  • Chandigarh February 16: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today planted a sapling in the historical Botanical Garden of Port Louis in Mauritius as a symbol of friendship between India and Mauritius. There is a tradition of plantation in this garden by personalities coming here from abroad as part of their honour and memory. The Botanical Garden has trees of 800 different species.
  • Mr Manohar Lal planted the sapling of long-lived fungam tree and said that it would keep reminding the emotional attachment between India and Mauritius for long.
  • “My memories will always remain here in the form of sapling planted in this garden”, he said. Today, the whole world is making efforts to keep the environment clean and it is highly effective to plant maximum trees in this direction. He said that the Haryana Government has given major boost to plantation in the State. The schools students were encouraged for plantation and they planted 26 lakh saplings in the State. Besides plantation, they also ensure their upkeep for three years, he added. He said that the students got   their photo clicked with the plants after every six month for which they are given Rs 50 as incentive.
  • The Chief Minister also wrote his remarks in the visitor book of Botanical Garden. Acting President of Mauritius, Mr Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory and Minister of Arts and Culture Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
  • Later, the Chief Minister visited the field of sugarcane, the main crop of Mauritius and inquired about the latest technique for increasing sugarcane yield.  He also visited museum L'Aventure du Sucre and got information about the history of sugarcane industry of Mauritius and its contribution in the development of Mauritius.
  • Chandigarh February 16: Haryana Government has decided to revise the Non Practicing Allowance (NPA) at the rate of 20 per cent of Medical Officer, Assistant Medical Officer, Senior Medical Officer, Dental Surgeon and Director of ESI Health Care Department with effect from May 1, 2018.
  • While stating this today, Finance Minister, Capt Abhmanyu said that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has approved a proposal in this regard. The decision would benefit 272 beneficiaries in the State. The annual financial liability on account of this revision would be over Rs 4.21 crore.
  • Those who would be eligible for this allowance included  government employee posted against a clinical post and actually working against such a post , government employee posted against a whole time post  and government employee in whose case there is ample scope of undertaking private practice . This allowance would admissible only in such cases and circumstances where it is necessary to prohibit private practice in public interest. The sum of the pay+NPA should not exceed Rs 2, 24,550  per month.
  • Chandigarh February 16: Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya has expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of brave jawans of CRPF in Avantipore area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • While describing this incident as tragic, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family members of martyrs and prayed for the quick and speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.
  • Chandigarh February 16: The International Gita Mahotsav being organized at Port Louis, Mauritius concluded amidst extremely spiritual atmosphere with a resolve that both India and Mauritius will popularise and spread the message of  Bhagwad Gita in the entire world. Scores of devotees present on this occasion took this pledge by raising their hand and reciting ‘Om’.
  • Acting President of Mauritius, Mr Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, Minister Mentor of Mauritius Mr. Anerood Jugnauth,   Minister of Arts and Culture Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal, saints, social, religious and other organizations participated in this programme.
  • Speaking on this occasion, Minister Mentor of Mauritius Mr. Anerood Jugnauth expressed faith that the cultural relations between India and Mauritius would be further strengthened in the coming generations. He said that last year they got an opportunity to hold Hindi Sammelan and this year we are fortunate enough to organize first International Gita Mahotsav outside India. He also thrown light on the significance of Gita and expressed gratitude to the State Government, Kurukshetra Development Board, Gio Gita, India-Mauritius Trade and Culture Forum and all other organizations for the successful organization of this event.
  • Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal assured the people of Mauritius that Haryana would continue giving all out support and cooperation for the organization of International Gita Mahotsav here. We called those cities in India as mini India in which people of different states resides but he is getting to see a mini India outside India as the people living here are connected with maximum states of India.
  • He said that Gita is a detailed and comprehensive scripture and is solution to all problems. Many problems-one solution and that is Gita, he said adding that similarly many question-one answer and that is Gita. 
  • Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj said that this Gita Mahotsav in Mauritius would not  be the last such programme but it would form the base of further promoting it in other countries. He said that this programme is being concluded with the Aarti of holy Ganga and Gita as the people of Mauritius has immense faith in Ganga and Gita. It has been the tradition of people coming here from India that they after getting Gangajal (holy water of Ganga) from India immersed the same in the holy Ganga Talab of Mauritius.
  • Minister of Arts and Culture of Mauritius Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun also expressed their views in the concluding function. On this occasion, the Sanskrit Speaking Union of Mauritius presented Shri Krishna Bhakti Geet while, Mauritius-Tamil Culture Centre presented Krishna Varnan Nritaya. The artists of NIFA and that of Mauritius presented essence of Gita.
  • Those present on this occasion included High Commissioner of India in Mauritius Mr Tanmaya Lal, Director General of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Mr Sameer Pal Srow, Member Secretary of Kurukshetra Development Board Mr Vijay Singh Dahiya and other dignitaries.
