  • Chandigarh, February 22- Haryana Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Nayab Singh Saini said that soon, Sharamik Mitr would be employed at block level in the state. They would help the labourers in availing the benefit of various schemes of Labour Welfare Board.
  • The Minister was addressing the people during Antyodaya Mela, Shramik Jagrukta avam Samman Samaroh organised in Naraingarh, Ambala today. Member of Parliament, Mr Ratan Lal Kataria presided over the programme.
  • During the programme, 425 women labourers registered with Labour Department of Naraingarh assembly constituency were distributed with sewing machines. He said that a total of 60,000 women labourers are to be distributed sewing machines in the state, of which 55,000 sewing machines have been distributed. These machines have been distributed to those, who are regularly registered with the department for a minimum of one year.
  • He said that a sum of Rs 1,80,54,800 is being deposited in the bank accounts of 1,509 beneficiary labourers  under Maternity benefit, paternity benefit scheme, scholarships, Kanyadan yojana, tool assistance, financial assistance for daughters’ marriage, for purchase of bicycle, mukhya mantri mahila nirman shramik samman yojana, death assistance, cremation assistance, assistance for disabled, assistance for the marriage of son and other schemes.
  • He said that in the last four and a half years, this is the third such type of Mela organised in Naraingarh Assembly Constituency, to provide benefit to labourers.  Two such melas were organised in Naraingarh and Shahjadpur. Last year, 625 women labourers were distributed with sewing machines and a sum of Rs 1,31,87,000 was given to 2,383 beneficiary labourers during such mela. In Mela organised in Shahzadpur, 577 women labourers were distributed with sewing machines and a sum of Rs 1,69,51,000 was given to beneficiary labourers. First time since the inception of Haryana, such melas are being organized in across the state.
  • He said that the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi always strive to provide strong social security to the labourers and has a vision to include the poor and weaker sections of the society into the mainstream. Under the abled leadership of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal numerous schemes have been made for the welfare of labourers. The old rules for labourers have been simplified and improved. This mela has been organised to make the labourers aware of their rights and provide other information. Such melas have been organised by Haryana Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board and Labour Department in different parts of the state.
  • He said that during the tenure of the present government, so far, a sum of Rs 650 crore has been given under all 24 schemes of the Board, whereas in the ten years of Congress Government, only 19,841 labourers were provided assistance of Rs. 28.55 crore.
  • He said that 61,692 labourers are registered in the Ambala Lok Sabha constituency, of which 34,984 beneficiaries have been given benefit of Rs 39,44,830 under various schemes. Similarly, 4,593 sewing machines have been distributed to registered women labourers. He said that the state government has increased the financial assistance being given to the registered labourers for becoming disabled due to an accident during work. The financial assistance has been increased to Rs 1.5 to Rs 3 lakh from Rs one to Rs two lakh. And, ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh is given on the death of any registered labour and there is a provision of Rs 2.5 lakh for the unregistered labourer.
  • He said that the disability pension of labourers has been increased to Rs 3,000 from Rs 300 per month. The state government has also made a provision of giving the financial assistance of Rs 51,000 on the marriage of daughter, three days before the marriage and Rs 50,000 for arrangements of marriage. There is an arrangement for bearing the full expenditure of wards of labourers for studying in  IIT, AIIMS and other higher educational institutions. 
  • MP, Mr Ratan Lal Kataria said that in the last about five years, under the abled leadership of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi,  about 22 crore people of the country have been given Direct Benefit of Rs 5,50,000 crore under 425 schemes.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 22 – The Election Commission of India has directed that no officer connected directly with elections would be allowed to continue in the present district of posting if he or she is posted in his or her home district. Similarly, if he or she has completed three years in that district during last four years or would be   completing three years on or before May 31, 2019, they would not be allowed to continue in the present district of posting.
  • While stating this here today, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Dr. Inder Jeet said that the Commission has directed to submit the compliance report latest by February 25, 2019.
  • These instructions would cover not only officers appointed for specific election duties like DEOs, Deputy DEOs, RO/AROs, EROs/AEROs, officers appointed as nodal officer of any specific election works, but also district officers like ADMs, SDMs, Deputy Collector/Joint Collector, Tehsildar, Block Development Officers or any other officer of equal rank directly deployed for election works.
  • These instructions would also be applicable to the police department officers such as Range IGs, DIGs, Commandants of State Armed Police, SSPs, SPs, Additional SPs, Sub-Divisional Head of Police, SHOs, Inspectors, Sub-Inspector, RIs/Sergeant Majors or equivalent ranks, who are responsible for security arrangement or deployment of police forces in the district at election time.
  • Hence, the said transfer policy is normally not applicable to officers/officials, who are not directly connected with elections like doctors, engineers, teachers and principals, he added.
  • Dr. Inder Jeet said that it has been directed that the officers and officials against whom the Commission had recommended disciplinary action in past and which is pending or which has resulted in a penalty or the officers who have been charged for any lapse in any election or election related work in the past, would not be assigned any election related duty.
  • The Commission has also desired that no officer or official, against whom a criminal case is pending in any court of law, be associated with or deployed on election related duty.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 22 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal would flag off Jind Marathon-2019, which will be dedicated to martyrs of Pulwama terrorist attack, from Eklavya Stadium, Jind on February 23, 2019. Over 50,000 people will take part in this marathon to show solidarity with Indian Army and Security Forces.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said, “It is a community sports and everybody is a player here. It gives everybody a chance to choose a distance in line with their stamina and give their best”.
  • The Chief Minister said that every district should organize Marathon as an annual event. It has emerged as a very effective medium of creating bonhomie among people and invokes a sense of pride for their district.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesperson said that the Jind Marathon is the second edition. The first one was held on 21 Jan 2017 in which over the 50,000 people took part. The event will be held in four categories - 5, 11, 21 and 42.2 km. The first one is the fun-Run while the other three carries cumulative awards. The theme of the event is ‘Run for Unity’.
  • He said that there is great enthusiasm among people about the Marathon and so far over 49,856 people have collected their chest numbers. Interestingly 25 percent of them are women.
  • The spokesperson said that it is eighth in the series of big-ticket marathon since 2015, the others being in Panchkula, Ambala, Hisar (twice), Jind, Sirsa and Yamunanagar. The aim of such endeavours is to promote social harmony, connect youth with government, encourage among people an active lifestyle and engineer a digital makeover of a place through event’s social media accounts.
  • All international norms are being followed in organizing the event. Starting from Eklavya stadium, Jind-Safidon road has been decked up as the racetrack. At every two km, there will be refreshment booths and medical help. Villages falling in the racetrack have erected welcome arcades and have planned to encourage runners with ‘dhols’ and flower petals, he added
  • Chandigarh, February 22- Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya said that Haryana has become the hub of sports due to its excellent sports policy. The players of Haryana with their excellent performance have made the country and the State proud at the international level.
  • The Governor was addressing the sportspersons and the people in the inaugural ceremony of the third Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Memorial All India National Style Kabaddi Championship at Mahabir Stadium in Hisar today. Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr Anil Vij and State BJP President, Mr Subhash Barala were also present on the occasion.
  • Earlier, a two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to martyred soldiers of CRPF in the terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The Governor also administered the pledge to sportspersons to stay away from drugs and play with sports spirit.  After inaugurating the third Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Memorial All India National Style Kabaddi Championship, the Governor welcomed all the players from across the country. He said, “It is a matter of pride that the players of Haryana have bagged maximum medals in the national and international sports competitions.”  
  • He said that the state government has given Rs 33.25 crore as prize money to 1166 players. Sports instill the team spirit and competitive spirit in the sportspersons which takes them forward in their lives.
  • The Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi has implemented many such schemes which would make India, a leading country in the world. Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat has also improved the rankings of India in the world. He said that with the efforts of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, Haryana has become the first state in terms of development in sports, education and other areas.
  • Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr Anil Vij paid tributes to soldiers martyred in Pulwama and Wing Commander, Sahil Gandhi of Hisar. He said that the state government is committed to promote the traditional sports. Thus, Kabbadi competition and Kushti Dangal of Rs one crore prize money has been started in Haryana. Resultantly, Akharas have been opened again in many villages and Kushti Dangals are organised. He said that cash prize of Rs one crore would be given to winning team of the third All India National Style Kabaddi Championship while the team securing second place would get Rs 50 lakh, Rs 25 lakh to the team for securing third place and Rs 11 lakh to the team for securing fourth place.
  • Mr Vij said that the state government has formulated an excellent sports policy of not only the country but also of the world to encourage sports and sportspersons. The Gold medal winner of Olympics gets the cash award of Rs six crore and job of HCS and HPS. He said that earlier, parents used to ask their children to also study apart from playing all day but after the sports policy of the state government, they ask their children to also play apart from studying.
  • He said that the state government has formulated transparent sports policy to encourage players which is available on the website of Sports and Youth Affairs Department. The players from the state have always made the state and the country proud in the Olympics, Asian, Commonwealth and National Games. He said that on the basis of applications received, all players have been given prizes up to August 15, in the state and the applications of the remaining players were being received up to February 22, 2019. After one week, the prize money would be deposited into their respective bank accounts. He said that there is a plan to construct multipurpose hall in 10 districts at a cost of Rs 25 crore each.
  • He said that the Kabaddi competition carrying prize money of  Rs one crore was first held in Sonipat, second in Jind and third today started at Hisar.  While extending his best wishes to the players, he said that the upcoming Kushti Dangal competition carrying a cash award of Rs one crore would be held in Panipat. The state government has initiated these biggest award money competitions to encourage the youth towards traditional sports and keep them away from drugs.
  • The teams of Haryana, Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Indian Railways, Services, CISF and ONGC participated in the competition. Many famous artists and singers, including Master Salim performed in the event.
  • Chandigarh, February 22- Haryana Government has assigned Geeta Bharti (IAS) the additional charge of Managing Director, Haryana Women Development Corporation, during the leave period of Hema Sharma, with immediate effect.
