  • Chandigarh, March 6- In the third meeting of Gurugram Metropolitan Authority (GMDA) Gurugram held today under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal the budget proposals of Rs 1,443 crore was approved for the financial year 2019-20. Out of which, about Rs 508 crores will be spent on the ongoing works.
  • During the meeting, approval was also given to the revised proposals of the current financial year. The works carried out by GMDA in the last one and half year, were reviewed. Chief Executive Officer, GMDA, Mr V Umashankar informed the Chief Minister that Rs 508 crores would be spent on ongoing projects from the total budget proposal of Rs 1,443 crore. These works included improvement works of Lt. Atul Kataria chowk, six lanning of road from Umang Bharadwaj chowk to NPR,  Mahavir chowk and improvements around Huda City Center Metro Station. Deliberations were held to provide connectivity  from old Gurugram to new Gurugram through metro services. Similarly, detailed discussions were also held on city bus project.
  • Later, while speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister informed that a provision of Rs 90 crore has been made for the smart city initiatives in Gurugram, which included establishment of Integrated Command and Control Centre, the launch of the City Wide Public Safety CCTV system with the traffic management system and Centralized Integrated Water Management System. He said that under smart city projects, free Wi-Fi facility for 1 hour would be provided for public at bus queue shelters and government offices, which will be connected through optical fibre cable.
  • Chief Executive Officer, GMDA, Mr V Umashankar said that under smart city initiatives, optical fiber of about 600 kms would be laid in Gurugram, out of which optical fiber of 105 kms and more than 250 kms long ducts have been laid. This work is being done by three agencies and it is estimated to be completed by June 2019. He said that the tenders have been invited for the first phase of  City Wide Public Safety CCTV system and adoptive traffic management system. About 16 services including traffic lights, garbage management, police stations, water supply, sewerage etc   will be included in this project. Besides, more than 60,000  cameras installed in malls and other private places would also be attached to this system.
  • As mentioned in budget proposals,  Rs. 59 crores will be spent on mobility infrastructure development, this included construction of bus stand for the Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited in Sector-10, foot over bridge, upgradation of chowks and other works.  Apart from the development of green belt and parks, the amount of Rs 23 crore under CSR will be spent on developing water bodies in Wazirabad village. Not only this, around Rs. 59 crores has been provided for infrastructure development under which construction of Medical Hospital in Kherki Majra Sector-102, Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sector 67 and ongoing laying of Synthetic atheletics Track in Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex would be completed.
  • A sum of about Rs 535 crore has been fixed for development of roads, drinking water supply, sewerage system, storm water drainage, environmental protection and water recycling work. About Rs 43 crore will be spent on construction of roads in new sectors from Sector 58 to 115. About Rs. 86.95 crore has been fixed for operation and maintenance of roads.  A provision of sum of Rs 208 crores has been made for drinking water supply, sewerage, drainage and water recycling.
  • In the year 2019-20, the provision of Rs 44.77 crores will be spent on salaries, wages, man power, IT and communication and GIS Infrastructure. Out of receipt of approximately Rs 534.90 crores, Rs 120 crores will be received from water and sewerage charges.
  • Chandigarh, March 6- Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain has expressed happiness and thanked the citizens for better performance of urban areas in Swachh Survekshan - 2019 conducted by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the result of which was declared today.  Haryana has improved its performance by securing ninth position in the country in the Swachh Survekshan against its earlier ranking of tenth position.  
  • In a statement issued here today, Mr Jain said that the State Government under the able leadership of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and with the support of general public has consistently performed better in the Swachh Bharat Mission Campaign of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi.
  • She said that all the Urban Local Bodies   actively participated in the Swachh Survekshan. 
  • A total number of four municipalities which have secured their place in the 100 best performing municipalities are Municipal Corporation Karnal at 24th national rank, Municipal Corporation Rohtak at 69th, Municipal Corporation Panchkula at 71st national rank and Municipal Corporation Gurugram at 83rd national rank.    She said that the ranking of Municipal Corporation, Karnal has improved to 24 from 41, Municipal Corporation, Rohtak, has improved to 69 from  89, Municipal Corporation, Panchkula has improved to 71 from 142, Municipal Corporation, Gurugram has improved to 83 from 105. 
  • She said that last year, two Municipal Corporations of Haryana were among the 100 clean cities of the country, and this time, four Municipal Corporations are included. The ranking of Municipal Corporation, Ambala has improved to 146 from 159, Municipal Corporation, Panipat has improved to 188 from 255 and Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar has improved to 218 from 313.

  • Chandigarh, March 6- Haryana Women and Child Development Department will organise International Women’s Day–2019, to honour women for their exceptional contribution to the society and exemplary work in different fields, on March 8, 2019 at Red Bishop, Panchkula.  Twenty-three women who have given outstanding performance in various fields will be honoured, on the occasion.
  • While giving this information here today, a spokesman of Women and Child Development Department said that on the occasion, Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya would be the Chief Guest and Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain would preside over the function.
  • Giving details, he said that Kalpana Chawla Shaurya Award carrying cash award of Rs. 50,000 along with citation, would be presented to Mrs Rekha Lakshmi Singh Chokan of district Rewari. Under Sports Category Ms. Neha Goyal (Sonipat), Ms. Sonia (Karnal),  Mrs Shakuntla Devi (Charkhi Dadri), Ms. Ekta Bhayan and Ms Krishna Devi (Hisar) would be awarded Rs. 21,000 each with a citation.
  • Two awards under Government Employee Category would be conferred upon Mrs Sarita Warder (Bhiwani) and Mrs Renuka Gambhir, Associate Professor, Hisar, two awards under Women Entrepreneur Category would be awarded  to Mrs Parveen Kumari (Sonipat) and Mrs Shobna (Panipat),  three awards under Social Work Category, would be awarded to Mrs Meenakshi Singla (Panchkula), Dr. Archana Bhatiya (Faridabad) and  Mrs. Shalu Tyagi (Sonipat), he added.

  •  He said that State Level Nutrition Award for the year 2018-19 would be given to the Deputy Commissioners of three best performing districts, namely Panchkula, Rewari and Kurukshetra who have shown maximum improvement in nutritional status of children below 6 years. The 1st prize of Rs. 2 lakh would go to District, Panchkula, 2nd prize of Rs.1 lakh to Rewari and 3rd prize of  Rs. 25,000to District Kurukshetra.  These Districts have been selected on the basis of departmental parameters consisting of weight, nutritional status of children and special efforts made by the district for improvement in nutritional status.
  • He said that another State Level Award for Improvement in Sex Ratio for the year 2017-18 would be given to the Deputy Commissioners of Jind, Rewari and Mahendergarh to the tune of Rs. 5 lakh, Rs. 3 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh for securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively in this event. Jind district has shown improvement of 29 points (898 to 927) thus securing 1st position, Rewari has shown improvement of 19 points (893 to 912) securing 2nd position and Mahendergarh has shown improvement of 17 points (881 to 898) securing 3rd position.
  • Apart from the above, a Helpbook on Women Helpline 181 and Toolkit on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 would also be launched on this occasion, he added.

  • Chandigarh, March 6- Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya said that the youth must get training of National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the National Service Scheme (NSS) to become disciplined individuals so as to provide effective leadership.
  • The Governor was addressing NCC cadets and NSS volunteers during NCC and NSS Samman Samaroh here today.
  • During the function, 27 cadets were honoured who had participated in the Republic Day parade, Delhi on January 26, 2019 and in the Prime Ministers’ Rally. This included eight girl’s cadets. This year, NCC squad of Haryana, secured the first place in parade, which is the fourth time in a row. Similarly, eight volunteers of NSS were honoured, which included for girl’s NSS volunteers. The NSS volunteers had also participated in the Republic Day Parade.
  • While congratulating the cadets and volunteers, Mr Arya honoured each cadet or volunteer with a cheque of Rs 11,000 and a souvenir. Mr Arya also announced to increase the award money to Rs 21,000 next year. He said that they have made the State proud by securing first position in the Republic Day Parade.
  • Mr Arya said that the motto of NCC is ‘Unity and discipline’ and the motto of NSS is ‘Not me but you’. Both the organizations, while working on their ideals, infuse among the youth the spirit of national and social service. To serve humanity, the cadets and volunteers donate their blood in blood donation camps and also take a resolve to donate their eyes after death. Apart from this, they also actively participate in the campaign against dowry, AIDS awareness campaign and cleanliness campaign.
  • Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that the small state Haryana has just 2 per cent of the total geographical area of the country, while Haryana's 10.8 per cent of soldiers are serving in the Indian Army. He also asked the youth to take inspiration from the bravery of Wing Commander, Abhinandan Varthaman of Indian Air Force, who shot down enemys’F-16 by Indian MiG-21.
  • Additional Director General of NCC and NSS, Mr R.S. Mann said that NCC is the world's largest uniformed youth organization. More than 14 lakh youth are being trained under the guidance of 17 Directorates in the country. He said that at present, 15 lakh cadets are connected with NCC and 40 lakh with NSS.
  • Chandigarh, March 6 – Mr. Tek Ram Kandela, the newly appointed Chairman of Haryana State Cooperative Labour and Construction Federation Limited (Labour fed) assumed charge of office at Panchkula today.

  • Chandigarh, March 6—Determined to skilling the youth to make them employable, and enabling others to hone their skills, the Haryana Government has drawn up plans to set up 21 new Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and upgrade 24 others, in the state. This will be done under various schemes implemented by the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department.
  • Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said that in furtherance of the avowed objective, as many as 11 ITIs commenced operations from the academic session 2018-19. Ten others were also launched in the private sector from same academic session.
  • The ITIs started by the government are located at Baklana (Hisar), Surewala (Hisar), Bhojawas (Mahendergarh), Tigaon (Faridabad), Dighot (Palwal), Mohna (Faridabad), Uncha Majra (Gurugram), Juan (Sonipat), Khera Khemawati at Safidon (Jind), Nachron (Yamunanagar) and Alika (Sirsa).
  • The spokesman said that a Letter of Understanding had been signed between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Skill Development & Industrial Training Department, Haryana, and Hero Moto Corp Limited, to provide driving skills to girls/ young women by setting up two-wheeler driving training centers.
  • Such centres will be set up in 21 Government Women ITIs at Ambala, Sonipat, Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar, Karnal, Mahendergarh, Narnaul, Rewari, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Kaithal, Charkhi Dadri, Dumerkhan, Jind, Ferozepur Jhirka, Kurukshetra, Kalka at Bitna, Tohana, Bahadurgarh and Sirsa.
  • He said that as many as 83 Government ITIs participated in grading exercise conducted by Government of India out of which Saudhara Government ITI has been ranked 7th in the country.
  • Under the Skilling Up-skilling Re-skilling of Youth & Assessment (SURYA) Scheme, 16,388 candidates have been trained against the target of 30,000 candidates, by the Haryana Skill Development Mission.
  • Under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna 2.0’, Centrally Sponsored State Managed (CSSM) component, against the target of 35,009 candidates, training has been imparted to 16,152 candidates. The Haryana Skill Development Mission is among the top five performing missions in states under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna.
  • Under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, 3,579 offices of government departments, boards and corporations etc. have been registered on Apprenticeship Portal in which 25,035 seats were created in 2018-19, against which 20,058 apprentices were engaged, till date. Haryana is ranked no. 1 in the country in this regard.
  • With a view to part-financing setting up of new ITIs and upgrading others, the state government has proposed an outlay of Rs. 680.06 crore for the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department in BE 2019-20 against Rs 547.83 crore in RE 2018-19, which represents an increase of 24.1 per cent, the spokesman added.
  • Chandigarh, March 6- In all the 90 Assembly Constituencies of Haryana, there are 5,910 voters who are of 100 years of age or above. It is a matter of pride for Haryana that elderly voters of this age are registered in the voters’ list.
  • While giving this information here today, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Dr. Inderjeet said that voters’ lists were published on January 31, 2019. According to this list, the maximum number of 553 voters who are of 100 years of age or above, are in Karnal, while the lowest number of 111 voters are in Panchkula.
  • He said that there are 8,9711 voters in 90 to 99 years age group in the Voters’ list, the maximum number of 7,946 such voters are in Bhiwani, while the lowest number of 1,436 voters in Panchkula. He said that those voters who are still left out, they could fill Form no. 6 on website online to get their votes made.
  • He said that during the special brief revision of voter lists, the 3,68,494 new voters have been added to the list. The names of 85,613 ineligible voters have been removed from the voters’ list and the details of 60,995 voters registered in voters’ list have been corrected. He said that if still, the name of any citizen is not on the voters’ list then one can get himself or herself registered and also get corrected their personal details.   
  • He said that a toll free number 18003361950 has been started for providing state level information for the convenience of voters of the state. Apart from this, voters can get information about their Form status and polling station by calling on voter’s helpline toll free number 1950 in their district or by sending SMS.
