Chandigarh, March 7- Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Mrs Kesani Anand Arora said that every citizen plays an important role in strengthening democracy. For women empowerment, the use of voting rights is also important.

Mrs Arora was addressing the students during the Voters Awareness Programme organised by the Election Department to observe International Women Day, in Panchkula today.

While expressing happiness over the increasing number of women voters, she said that in 1962, the percentage of women polling was 47.6 per cent, which increased to 69.68 per cent in 2014.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Mr Rajiv Ranjan said that in order to strengthen the democracy, the voters must express their opinion by casting their votes. He said that with the participation of all the voters, the process of election of qualified candidates is encouraged and now the option of NOTA is also available in case the voter didnt want to cast his vote to any election candidate. In recently held assembly elections in many states, the voting percentage of women was more than that of men, which is a healthy sign.

Chandigarh, March 7- Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that eight hospitals including sub-division hospital in Ambala Cantonment, have also received National Quality Certificate, which has increased the number of hospitals having the quality certificate to 41, in the state.

In this regard, a letter sent by Mission Director, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Manoj Jhalani, stated that a team of centre inspected the hospitals from January 21 to 23, 2019 and examined the various aspects. Under this, DCH Ambala city, Primary Health Centre (PHC), Kharwan of Yamunanagar district, urban PHC, Hari Vihar of Faridabad district, PHC, Chaudhariwas of Hisar district, PHC, Dobheta of Sonipat district, PHC, Panihari of Sirsa district and urban PHC, Mohan Nagar of Kurukshetra district, have got the National Quality Certificate for excellence.

Mr Vij told that the Central team has found excellent facilities in 12 departments of the hospital in Ambala Cantonment. Under which, they have been given excellence certificate. The emergency and accident department of the hospital has earned 94 per cent, OPD has secured 94 per cent, IPD 95 per cent, Laboratory and Operation Theater 95 per cent and Labor Room and Maternity Ward 96 per cent. With this, the Cantonment hospital has also got a total score of 95 per cen

Chandigarh, March 7: In a major relief to the owners of unauthorized commercial buildings in the core areas of various towns of the State, the Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here recently decided to divide the municipalities in five different categories besides fixing the conversion charges for regularization of these buildings. Apart from this, rate of conversation of rehabilitation colonies from residential to commercial has also been reduced by 50 per cent.

While stating this here today, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain said that earlier governments in the State did not show any interest in framing rules for thousands of such owners who constructed the buildings in different urban areas of the State in violation of rules due to lack of awareness.

Mrs Jain said that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal took keen interest to resolve the problem being faced by such people and approved the policy for one time regularization of unauthorized construction of commercial buildings in core areas of the towns in the year June 2018. She said that now the State Cabinet has accorded approval to the conversioncharges for one time regularisation of such constructions under the scheme.She said that while Rs. 7,662 per square meter has been fixed for Municipal Corporation, Gurugram, Rs. 6,896 per sq.meterfor Municipal Corporation, Faridabad, Rs 6,090 per square meterfor other Municipal Corporations, Rs 5,304 per square meterfor all Municipal Councils and Rs 4,658 per square meterfor all Municipal Committees. She said that buildings upto 500 square yard would be eligible to apply under this scheme.

The Minister said that for the rehabilitation colonies in the State like Model Town and town planning scheme, improvement trust prior to 1980, the State Government had approved the scheme for conversion of residential buildings tocommercial buildings in the year 2016 and also fixed conversion charges for the same, which has also been reduced to 50 per cent. She said for Municipal Corporations in Gurugram and Faridabad, these have been reduced from Rs 15,324 per square meter to Rs 7662 per square meter in Gurugram. Similarly, theconversion charges in Municipal Corporations of Panchkula, Sonipat, Ambala, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Hisar and Yamunanagar has been reduced from Rs 12,180 per square meter to Rs 6090 per square meter, in all municipal councils of the State from Rs 10,608 per square meter to Rs 5304 per square meter and in all municipal committees from Rs 9316 square meter to Rs 4658 square meter.

She said that now after giving nod to policy of regularization as one time measure, the department would keep a strict vigil to ensure that such unauthorized constructions might not take place in future. She said that videography survey would also be conducted by the Department to keep a check on the construction of unauthorized buildings and ensure strict compliance of Haryana Building Code.

Chandigarh, March 7- Haryana Government has re-designated nine Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs) who have completed 10 years or more regular satisfactory service as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in their present posting, with immediate effect.

The re-designated DSPs are Sanjay Ahlawat of 4th IRB, Manesar, Anoop Singh of 5th Battalion HAP, Sumer Singh, Dhyan Singh and Mukesh Kumar DSP of CID, Shyam Lal DSP of State Vigilance Bureau, Suresh Kumar, DSP of Jhajjar, Virender Singh Sangwan, DSP of Lokayukta and Krishan Kumar DSP of Commando.

Chandigarh, March 7- Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari today laid the foundation stone for the construction of four lanning of Ambala Saha road through video conferencing. An expenditure of Rs 220 crore is expected to be spent for the construction of 14.840 km long road on NH-444A.

While stating this here today, the Haryana Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij said that this road will be constructed from Ambala to Saha for the convenience of the people to get easy road access.

Mr Vij informed that he has met Mr. Gadkari several times for the construction of this road. As a result, the foundation stone for road construction has been laid today, the construction work of which will be completed soon as all necessary formalities have been completed for this. In addition to this, the Haryana Government has given administrative approval of Rs 292.08 lakh for the repair of cement concrete of Ballabhgarh-Samipur-Sarmathla road in Faridabad district.

Chandigarh, March 7- In order to further strengthen the road network, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has given administrative approval of projects to the tune of Rs 2,933.27 lakh for districts Rohtak, Faridabad, Hisar and Sirsa.

While giving detailed information on these projects, Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that this included administrative approval of Rs 385.13 lakh for improvement of Rohtak-Beri Road and Rs 286.37 lakh for repairing Old NH-10 road (City part) in district Rohtak.

He said that 12.80 Km long Rohtak-Beri Road was repaired in 2012 and this road starts from National Highway-71A and leads to Beri. This is an important link road to Indian Institute of Management located in Garnawati, Rohtak. This road is badly damaged and its immediate repair is required.

Similarly, a 3.75 km length of Old NH-10(City part) in Rohtak city was repaired in October 2014. As the traffic load on this road is increasing day by day, there is an urgent need to repair this road, in view of its bad condition.

Rao Narbir said that similarly, administrative approval of Rs 255.89 lakh has been given for the up-gradation and widening of Hansi-Mehjid-Masudpur-Datta-Biyana-Khera-Gianpura Road (till Jind-Barwala Road) in district Hisar. This included four roads ID 5205, 5206,5219 and 5109. The total length of the proposed road is 28.87 km, of which 20.08 km length is subjected to Defect Liability Period (DLP).

He said that the Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu had requested for up-gradation and widening of this road. As a depot is being set up in village Datta by HPCL, thus due to increased traffic pressure on this road, it is necessary to improve the road.

Besides this, administrative approval of Rs 480.17 lakh has been given for the repair of 15 roads in district Rohtak. The roads which are to be repaired included Ismaila to Balaji Mandir at the cost of Rs 15.23 lakh, Kalanaur to Katesra at the cost of Rs 69.53 lakh, Ghilour Khurd road at the cost of Rs 6.77 lakh, Pilana Ranila road at the cost of Rs 25.72 lakh, Paksma to Gandhra at the cost of Rs 27.07 lakh, Muradpur Tekna School road at the cost of Rs 6.72 lakh and Gaddi Kheri to Dobh at the cost of Rs 3.99 lakh.

Similarly, other roads to be repaired included Assan to Bakheta at the cost of Rs 21.78 lakh, Kiloi to Rithal at the cost of Rs 119.98 lakh, Rohtak-Bhiwani road at the cost of Rs 32.11 lakh, Old DHS road in village Sampla at the cost of Rs 13.78 lakh, Sukhpura to Ladhaut road at the cost of Rs 49.41 lakh, Bhalout to Kiloi at the cost of Rs 43.75 lakh, Ladhout to Shiv Mandir at the cost of Rs 31.95 lakh and Sanghi Bus Stand to Chhaju Wala Bridge at the cost of Rs 12.38 lakh.

Rao Narbir said that administrative approval has been given for the repair of 13 roads in assembly constituencies Dabwali, Kalanwali, Sirsa and Rania in district Sirsa. The road are to be repaired included Khairkan to Dhani at the cost of Rs 22.71 lakh, DHS road to Ahmedpur road at the cost of Rs 29.49 lakh, DHS road to Jandwala Jattan at the cost of Rs 18.97 lakh, Tappi Pipli Naurang road at the cost of Rs 120.25 lakh, Odhan to Ghokali at the cost of Rs 58.98 lakh, Chormar to Chukerian at the cost of Rs 40.77 lakh, Nezadela to Kirarkot road at the cost of Rs 32.06 lakh and Subakhera to Sukhchain road at the cost of Rs 18.91 lakh.

Similarly, other roads to be repaired are Baragudha to Rori road at the cost of Rs 103.41 lakh, Dabwali Kalanwali via Desujodha road at the cost of Rs 101.84 lakh, Panjuana to Dhudianwali road at the cost of Rs 9.52 lakh, Panniwala Motta to Bijjuwali at the cost of Rs 75 lakh and Sirsa Ottu Rania Jiwan Nagar Dabwali(SH32) road to Kelina Road at the cost of Rs 7.16 lakh.

He said that in district Faridabad, cement concrete pavement would be provided on 1.4 km Ballabgarh-Samepur-Sarmathla road. For this, administrative approval of Rs 292.8 lakh has been given.

Chandigarh, March 7 - Haryana Women and Child Development Department will organise International Women;s Day 2019, to honour women for their exceptional contribution to the society and exemplary work in different fields, on March 8, 2019 at Red Bishop, Panchkula. Twenty-three women who have given outstanding performance in various fields will be honoured, on the occasion.

While giving this information here today, a spokesman of Women and Child Development Department said that on the occasion, Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya would be the Chief Guest and Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain would preside over the function.

Giving details, he said that Kalpana Chawla Shaurya Award carrying cash award of Rs. 50,000 along with citation, would be presented to Mrs Rekha Lakshmi Singh Chokan of district Rewari. Under Sports Category Ms. Neha Goyal (Sonipat), Ms. Sonia (Karnal),Mrs Shakuntla Devi (Charkhi Dadri), Ms. Ekta Bhayan and Ms Krishna Devi (Hisar) would be awarded Rs. 21,000 each with a citation.

Two awards under Government Employee Category would be conferred upon Mrs Sarita Warder (Bhiwani) and Mrs Renuka Gambhir, Associate Professor, Hisar, two awards under Women Entrepreneur Category would be awarded to Mrs Parveen Kumari (Sonipat) and Mrs Shobna (Panipat), three awards under Social Work Category, would be awarded to Mrs Meenakshi Singla (Panchkula), Dr. Archana Bhatiya (Faridabad) and Mrs. Shalu Tyagi (Sonipat), he added.

He said that State Level Nutrition Award for the year 2018-19 would be given to the Deputy Commissioners of three best performing districts, namely Panchkula, Rewari and Kurukshetra who have shown maximum improvement in nutritional status of children below 6 years. The 1st prize of Rs. 2 lakh would go to District, Panchkula, 2nd prize of Rs.1 lakh to Rewari and 3rd prize of Rs. 25,000to District Kurukshetra.These Districts have been selected on the basis of departmental parameters consisting of weight, nutritional status of children and special efforts made by the district for improvement in nutritional status.

He said that another State Level Award for Improvement in Sex Ratio for the year 2017-18 would be given to the Deputy Commissioners of Jind, Rewari and Mahendergarh to the tune of Rs. 5 lakh, Rs. 3 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh for securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively in this event. Jind district has shown improvement of 29 points (898 to 927) thus securing 1st position, Rewari has shown improvement of 19 points (893 to 912) securing 2nd position and Mahendergarh has shown improvement of 17 points (881 to 898) securing 3rd position.

Apart from the above, a Helpbook on Women Helpline 181 and Toolkit on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 would also be launched on this occasion, he added.

Chandigarh March 7: Haryana government has appointed Mr. Subhash Chander Katyal of Palwal as Chairman, Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation (HAFED) with immediate effect.

Born in the year 1945, Mr. Subhash Chander Katyal has completed his MA (Economics) and LLB and also worked as a lecturer in Government College Jind. He has also served as Cabinet Minister in Haryana Government.
