- Chandigarh, Feb 1- Maharashtra Chief Minister, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis today announced a grant of Rs three crore for the War Memorial being set up by the Haryana Government in Kala Amb, district Panipat, in the memory of Maratha warriors of the third battle of Panipat, during the inaugural ceremony of the 33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2019 in Faridabad.
- At the same time, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal announced to develop a special memorial to show the history of bravery of Marathas through the medium of light and sound on four acres area on GT Road, Panipat, so as to bring both the ‘Theme State’ Maharashtra and host State Haryana more closer in historical and cultural terms. The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal also announced to expand the Maratha war memorial site of eight acres located on Kala Amb to 20 acres.
- Mr. Devendra Fadnavis and Mr Manohar Lal made these announcements in their address during the inaugural ceremony of the 33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2019 in Faridabad today.
- In his address, Mr. Fadnavis said that Haryana and Maharashtra have a soil and blood relationship. More than one lakh brave Marathas of Maharashtra have sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the country in the third Battle of Panipat. At present, lakhs of Marathas are living in Haryana. He said that the Maharashtra Government would give its all possible contribution for stronger cultural ties between both the states.
- Mr. Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and Tourism Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma for choosing Maharashtra as the ‘Theme State’ in the 33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2019. As a memorial, the replica of the fort of Raigarh, the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been set up by the Theme State.
- Mr. Fadnavis also invited the tourists of the country and also of abroad there, for tourism in Maharashtra as it has lot to offer to tourists. “We are also going to start Ramayana Festival in Maharashtra”, he added.
- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal welcomed the visitors of all the countries in the 33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2019 and said that since the present government took over the reins, this is the fifth Surajkund Mela and we are moving forward in realizing the dream of Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat, of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi. He said that such fests strengthen the unity and integrity of the country. In this Mela, over 31 countries are participating and other countries are also being invited.
- He said that the Haryana Government has signed an agreement with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, under which, the artists of Haryana would also take forward the cultural heritage of the state in other countries. He said that in the Krishna Circuit, we have joined 48 Kos areas near Kurukshetra. Apart from this, Mahendergarh Fort and Madhogarh Fort have also been linked to the Krishna Circuit.
- He said that even today, the youth of Haryana have great feeling of patriotism and whenever recruitment is conducted for Army, the youth come forward in a large numbers. Despite the two per cent representation in the country's population and 1.6 per cent in geographical representation, there is 10 per cent representation of Haryana in the Indian Army. In Commonwealth Games, the players of Haryana bagged 22 medals out of the total 66 medals of the country and 17 medals were bagged by Haryana Players in Asian Games. The Sports policy of the state is commendable that has provided financial support to the players as well as government jobs.
- Haryana Tourism Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that the Surajkund Mela is being made the centre of attraction across the world. Last year, 25 countries had participated, 600 stalls were installed and 16 lakh visitors had visited. This year, 31 countries are participating and the number of stalls has also been increased to over 1,400. He have made available 10 acres land adjoin Surajkund for parking, by freeing it from encroachment.
- Maharashtra Tourism Minister, Mr Jaykumar Rawal said that Surajkund Mela is actually the biggest Art and Craft Fair in the world and the Haryana Government is all worthy of congratulations for its better management.
- Others spoke on the occasion included Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Tourism, Mr Vijay Vardhan, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and Chairman, Surajkund Mela Authority, Mr Yogendra Tripathi, Ambassador of Partner Country, Thailand, Mr Kaimele.
- Those present included Haryana Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu, Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, Public Works Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr Vipul Goel, Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishna Bedi and others.
- Chandigarh, Feb 1- Haryana Government has assigned the charge of Director General of Police, Haryana to Dr K.P. Singh, in addition to his present duty, till the finalization of the ongoing process of regular appointment to the said post, as per guidelines of the Supreme Court of India.
- Chandigarh, Feb 1 - The 25th National Adventure Festival will be organised this year from February 2 to 10, 2019 by the National Adventure Club (India).
- While stating this here today, President of the National Adventure Club, Mr. Ram S. Varma said that about 300 boys and girls from all over the country between the age group of 17-35 are expected along with a team of nine participants from Bangladesh in this silver jubilee Festival. They would take part in various adventure sports activities such as trekking, rock climbing, repelling, para sailing, river rafting, kayaking, snow skiing, rifle shooting, archery, commando obstacle and river crossing. The festival is being sponsored by Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
- The National Adventure Club (India) confers two prestigious awards, ‘Bharat Gaurav’ and ‘Adamaya Sahas Puruskar’ to outstanding adventure sports persons for their exemplary achievements in the field of adventure sports at national and international level.
- Mr. Varma said that entries have been invited for these puruskar frorn the adventure sports persons who have achieved feats of International and National acclaim in fields such as mountaineering, trekking, rock climbing, water sports, acqua sports, aero sports or any other dare devil activity. The willing persons can apply for these awards by sending their complete bio-data and documentary proof of achievements since 1995. These prizes carry a cash award of Rs. 51,000 and Rs. 31,000, respectively and a citation and a plaque. The prizes would be given on the concluding day of the Festival.
- During this festival all the participants will be divided into five different groups and will be sent for various adventure sports activities such as for trekking, rock climbing, archery and rifle shooting and river rafting at Koti-Kufri in Himachal Pradesh and Dak Pathar in Uttrakhand and for snow skiing at Narkanda in Himachal Pradesh and Solang Nalah near Manali in Himachal Pradesh, for river rafting and Canoeing at Shivpuri in Rishikesh, Uttrakhand. Before sending the participants to their destinations, they will do a conditioning trek from Kalka to Kasauli, he added.
- Mr. Varma said that concluding function will be held at Red Bishop Tourist Complex in Panchkula on February 10, 2019 at 7.30 p.m. wherein Mr. Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura, ndc, Chairman, Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB), Rangamati, Bangladesh will be the Guest of Honour.
- Chandigarh, Feb 1 – In a significant move to further strengthen the law and order, Haryana Government has accorded sanction to the creation of 1957 new posts in already sanctioned 16 Police Stations of Commissionerate of Police, Faridabad. In addition, 60 posts for housekeeping have also been approved.
- While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that the newly created posts include 7 of Inspectors, 149 of Sub-Inspectors, 192 of Assistant Sub Inspectors, 652 of Head Constables and 957 of Constables.
- He said that 114 posts each have been approved for Police Station, Sector-17, Police Station Dabua, Police Station Palla, Police Station Adarsh Nagar, Police Station Dhauj and Police Station B.P.T.P whereas 366 posts have been created for Metro Police Station Faridabad. Similarly, 113 posts each have been created for Police Stations of Sarai Khwaja, Mujesar, Sector-31 and Kotwali, 106 for Old Faridabad, 90 each for Sadar Police Station, Ballabgarh and Police Station Bhupani, 78 for Police Station Tigaon and 91 for Police Station, Chhainsa. The housekeeping posts include 20 each of cook, water carrier and sweeper.
- Chandigarh, Feb 1 – Describing the budget presented by Interim Union Finance Minister, Mr. Piyush Goel as historic, the Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that this budget would prove to be a milestone towards developing new India. He said that major relief has been given in this budget to middle class, farmers, labourers and salaried class. He also expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi and Mr Piyush Goyal for public welfare oriented budget. In view of the new direction given to Indian economy by the Finance Minister, Mr. Arun Jaitley under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi during about last five years, the country is moving towards becoming the economic power of the world.
- Capt Abhimanyu said that in the proposed budget of the Central Government, the taxable income up to Rs five lakh has been made tax free. Apart from this, savings of Rs 1.5 lakh per annum can also be done separately. He said that under the leadership of Mr. Narendra Modi, India is moving on the path of development. The government has controlled inflation and the country has become the sixth largest economy in the world. After the economic reforms, the highest GDP growth have been achieved and the fiscal deficit has been controlled.
- The Finance Minister said that as many as 21 All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have been set up in the country and 22nd AIIMS has been proposed to be set up in Haryana. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the State government as well as people of Haryana to the Central Government.
- Capt. Abhimanyu said that the defence budget has been kept more than Rs 3 lakh crore for the financial year 2019-20, which is so far the highest in any year. He also expressed gratitude on increasing the gratuity limit, giving Rs 6 lakh on the death of workers and announcing a pension of Rs 3,000 per month for laborers above 60 years.
- He said that this budget will open up new avenues of development for the country and will strengthen the concept of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’. He said that the budget has made it clear that the Central Government is a government that takes care of poor, backward and middle class families.
- Chandigarh, Feb 1- Haryana Government is celebrating International Saraswati Mahotsav from February 6 to February 10, 2019, which will be inaugurated by Tourism and Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, in Adi Badri, district Yamunanagar.
- While giving this information today, Deputy Chairman, Haryana Saraswati Heritage Development Board, Mr Prashant Bhardwaj said that the state government had constituted this Board in 2015 with an aim for the Saraswati Heritage preservation, re-flowing of Saraswati River into river and rejuvenation of Saraswati Heritage. Under which, the state government has decided to celebrate 5-day festival, which will be inaugurated on February 6 in Adi Badri, Yamunanagar and concluded on February 10 in Pehowa.
- He said that in this connection, the third International Conference is also being celebrated at Panjab University, Chandigarh on Feb 8-9, in which Haryana Governor, Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya, Haryana Tourism and Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma besides Union Minister and several other Ministers of states would also participate.

- Chandigarh, Feb 1 – Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Kumar Grover has hailed the budget presented by the Interim Union Finance Minister Mr Piyush Goyal terming it a growth-oriented and it will provide relief to every section of the society.
- In a statement issued here today, Mr. Grover said that Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi and the Finance Minister have taken full care of farmers, employees, laborers, businessmen, women, veterans and soldiers. For the first time in the history of the country, it has been announced to give Rs 6,000 to farmers having two hectares of land and the tax ceiling has been increased from Rs 2.5 to Rs 5 lakh.
- The Minister said that for the first time in the history of the country, it has decided to increase the defence budget to more than Rs 3 lakh crore.
- He said that the Central Government has also announced to establish 22nd AIIMS in Haryana, which is a welcoming step and for this, he expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Finance Minister.
- The Minister said that this budget will strengthen the country's economy. Also, the announcements made in today's budget will have a positive effect on crores of people, he added.
- Chandigarh February 1: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has hailed the Union Budget 2019-20 presented by Interim Union Finance Minister Mr Piyush Goyal, in Parliament today, as a growth oriented budget that takes care of all sections of the society. He said that the Budget is pro-poor, pro-farmer and pro-common man and would give new trajectory of growth to the country.
- Reacting to the Budget proposals today, the Chief Minister thanked the Union Minister for his announcement to set up an All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Haryana. This would be 22nd AIIMS which will be set up in the country.
- Hailing the renewed commitment of the NDA Government to double the income of farmers, the Chief Minister said that the new scheme namely Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi as announced in the budget clearly reflect the pro-farmer vision of the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi and would help in realising his vision of doubling the income of the farmers by 2022. He said that decision of two per cent interest subvention to farmers pursuing animal husbandry and fisheries would definitely give a big boost to the farming sector. He also thanked the Union Government for increased allocation for Rashtriya Gokul Mission to Rs 750 crore in current year.
- He said that the Budget has also given a big relief to the Individual tax payers as those earning annual income up to 5 lakh rupees would get full tax rebate.
- The Chief Minister said that the Budget also provides much needed relief to the traders besides providing measures for safeguarding the interest of workers engaged in unorganized sector with the mega Pension Yojana, namely Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan
- Chandigarh, Feb 1 – Dr. K.P. Singh, senior IPS Officer of 1985 batch, today assumed charge of Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana.
- Before taking the charge as DGP, Dr. K.P. Singh took Guard of Honour at State Police Headquarters premises. The senior police officers congratulated Dr Singh after latter assumed the charge of the office.
- Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Crime Against Woman, Mr Ajay Singal, ADGP Operations and IT, Mr A.S. Chawla, IGP Modernization Mr H.S. Doon, IGP CM Flying Squad Mr Rajinder Kumar and a large number of senior police officers were also present on this occasion.
- It may be mentioned here that State government has assigned the charge of DGP Haryana to Dr. K.P. Singh, DG Haryana Human Rights Commission, in addition to his present duty.
