  • Chandigarh, Jan 4- State Election Commissioner, Haryana Dr. Dalip Singh submitted the report of the general election of Panchayati Raj Institutions-2016 to the Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya. Dr. Singh called on the Governor at Chandigarh today and briefed the Governor about the State Election Commission and its functions.
  • The Governor appreciated the Commission for the conduct of free, fair and peaceful elections of the local bodies in the State.
  • Dr. Dalip Singh apprised the Governor about the present position of the Municipalities and Panchayati Raj Institutions in the state. He further apprised that as per the amendment in the Panchayat and Municipal Act, minimum educational qualification for contesting candidates has been fixed which has substantially increased the percentage of literate public representatives. He informed that it has brought a positive effect on the decision making process at the ground level. It has also helped to enhance the scope of right to education and strengthened the foundation of the democracy. 
  • Dr. Singh further apprised that this is the first time when eligible electors of the Corporations have elected the Mayor of Municipal Corporation, Rohtak, Hisar, Panipat, Karnal and Yamuna Nagar through direct elections by casting the votes. With this system the elections of Mayor has become transparent and large number of peoples have shown their interest for participating in the elections of municipalities.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 4 – Haryana Government has given Rajeev Ranjan (IAS), Chief Electoral Officer, the additional charge of Commissioner and Secretary, Elections Department, relieving Ankur Gupta of the said charge.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 4- The Project Director, Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) Programme, Dr Rakesh Gupta today issued strict directions to departments to further improve their functioning and also train their staff at the district level to ensure benefits of schemes and services are being availed by the people at Antyodaya and Saral Kendras.
  • Dr Gupta was presiding over a review meeting of Nodal officers of Antyodaya Saral Project today.
  • He directed the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Revenue Department, Forest Department, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikarn and Urban Local Bodies Department to improve their functioning and ensure that the benefit of the schemes and services are provided through Antyodaya and Saral Kendras.
  • He also directed the departments to take action on tickets coming on the ticketing system of Antyodaya portal. Apart from this, the departments will ensure immediate action on important tickets received daily.
  • Dr Gupta directed the nodal officers to settle the applications and complaints received on Antyodaya portal, at the earliest. Along with this, if any application or complaint is cancelled by the department then its reason should be informed to the concerned. He said that there are still some departments which have not publicized that all the schemes and services of their department would now be available at Antyodaya and Saral Kendras.
  • While directing all the nodal officers, Dr. Gupta said that the general public should get the benefits of all the schemes and services at the earliest, without any laxity and with full responsibility. He said that the Dashboard app mobile application was launched on December 25, 2018, nodal officers could review the status of all applications received in their department.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 4- Haryana Board of School Education has made adequate arrangements for the smooth and fair conduct of Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) exam. As many as 3,76,335 candidates will appear in 1,224 examination centers across the state in Level 1, 2 and 3, of the examination. Out of the total, 2,62,602 are female candidates and 1,13,728 are male candidates.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the board said that the Board has formed various flying squads for a strict vigil in examination centres. Apart from this, 470 Central Superintendents, 6,110 Supervisors and 928 Observers have been appointed.
  • All the candidates who are appearing in HTET exams have been appealed to stay away from using any unfair means in the exams. The candidates and staff posted on duty should remain cautious of rumours, false propaganda and anti-social elements.  In case of any doubt, they can directly contact the President or Secretary of Board or Control room through telephone.
  • The civil administration and police are completely alert and active. The State Government is committed to conducting fair and copy-free HTET examinations.
  • All candidates must carefully go through the instructions given by the Board, before appearing in the examination. The entrance time of the candidates will be from 7.50 am to 9 am in the examination center and from 12.50 pm to 2 pm, after which no candidate will be allowed to enter the center. The Central superintendents, Supervisors and staff deployed duty by department or Board will ensure compliance with all guidelines issued from time to time.
  • Chandigarh, Jan 4 - The cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have so far produced over 8.40 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 96.13 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the current crushing season.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Shahabad has produced a maximum of over 1.64 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 17.90 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Cooperative Sugar Mill, Rohtak has produced over 1.34 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 15.97 lakh quintals of sugarcane, followed by Cooperative Sugar Mill, Kaithal has produced 98,415 quintals of sugar by crushing 10.88 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that Cooperative Sugar Mill, Karnal, which has produced 93,680 quintals of sugar by crushing 10.34 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Similarly, the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Meham has produced 82,100 quintals of sugar by crushing 10.45 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Palwal has produced 63,730 quintals of sugar by crushing 6.88 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Panipat has produced 57,625 quintals of sugar by crushing 6.30 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Gohana has produced  56,340 quintals of sugar by crushing 6.94 lakh quintals of sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mill, Sonipat has produced 14,400 quintals of sugar by crushing 2.15 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • Apart from this, HAFED Sugar Mill, Assandh has produced 96,600 quintals of sugar by crushing 11.66 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that so far, the average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative sugar mills has been registered as 9.27 per cent.
