  • Chandigarh, October 4 – The B.A.M.S and B. Pharma students of Shri Krishna University, Kurukshetra, today called off their strike, as  all their demands were resolved, after holding a meeting with Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Baldev Kumar.
  • The Principal, Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra, Dr. Usha Dutt offered juice to the striking students and thus, ended their strike.
  • Stating this today, the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Baldev Kumar said that the students had pleaded for the resolution of their problems, for which on the spot, the administration and professors were put on duties. They had raised 12 demands, of which nine were accepted and the students were striking for the remaining three demand. These three demands were related to Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, which included a declaration of results of all classes, release of examination date sheet and their annual calendar.
  • He said that as per the convenience of students, the university has declared the results and released date sheet and annual Calendar. Apart from this, the enhanced internship would be released with the budget availability, all applications related to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes scholarships would be verified online and payment would be made immediately.  
  • He said that the demand of constitution of committee of four students for Students’ funds was already accepted. The proposal of installation of generator in the college has been approved by the state government and the proposal to linking the college with Hot Line is under the government's consideration.  
  • He said that the work on providing Wi-Fi facility in the entire campus of the university, has been completed and its service would start soon. After getting approval from administration, the work of beautification, construction of barrier and guards on the road leading to college, would be completed soon. RO and water cooler have been repaired in the university and some new would be purchased. Apart from this, the process of making new identity cards of students has started and would be completed soon.
  • Chandigarh October 4: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal exhorted the team Mission Modi - Haryana to work with more zeal and enthusiasm to ensure victory of BJP on all ten seats in the State during the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
  • Mr Manohar Lal said this when a delegation of team Mission Modi-Haryana led by its working President Mr Gurmez Singh Gondar called on him here today to take his blessings.
  • The Chief Minister appreciated team Mission Modi and asked the team members to popularize the welfare policies and programmes of the State Government and ensure that that benefit of these schemes reach at the grass root level.
  • Later, the Chief Minister heard grievances of the people at the Janata Darbar and disposed off maximum grievances on the spot. He also gave necessary directions to the officers concerned for the disposal of remaining complaints at the earliest.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 4 – Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, welcoming the decision of the Central Government, said that the State Government has decided to reduce Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel by about Rs 2.5 per litre. The revised rates would be effective from today mid-night.
  • The Finance Minister was interacting with media persons, here today.
  • He said that after reduction, the revised rates of diesel in Haryana would be about Rs 71 per litre and petrol would be about Rs 79 per litre. He said that this would cause annual burden of Rs 1920 crore on state exchequer.
  • While replying to a question, he said that the prices of crude oil have been increasing rapidly in international market which is increasing our import bill thus affecting the value of rupee.
  • Chandigarh, October 4 – Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya today urged all the government, non-government organizations, social welfare organizations and self help groups working for the welfare of women to play an important role in ensuring justice to women.
  • The Governor was interacting with officials of Haryana State Commission for Women, here today. The officers included Chairperson, Haryana State Commission for Women, Mrs. Pratibha Suman, Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Preeti Bhardwaj and other members.
  • Mr Arya said that Haryana State Commission for Women should set up joint bench to hear the problems of women in all districts and remote areas and redress them on the spot. Besides this, the commission should remain in regular touch with women ashrams and police stations for ensuring rights of women and justice to them. The joint bench should ensure that maximum problems of women are resolved.  
  • He said that all government and non government organization related to women welfare would further strengthen the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign in the state. Take immediate actions, in case of female feoticide in any part of the state. Besides this, the organizations should also work to end the heinous crime of honour killing and raise awareness among people against it. It should also organise programmes at various places to spread awareness against social evils.
  • Chandigarh October 4: While describing Real Estate sector as the major contributor in the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that Haryana is the first State in the country to have set up two different Real Estate Regulatory Authorities for the convenient of all the stakeholders.
  • Mr Manohar was addressing a press conference after inaugurating the web portal of Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) of Panchkula and Gurugram here today. He said that Real Estate sector contributes about 9 to 10 per cent in the National Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
  • The Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authorities of Panchkula and Gurugram have been set up to balancing the interest of all the three stakeholders- allottees, promoters and real estate agents/brokers. Apart from redressing the complaints of the stakeholders, the HRERA also ensures protecting their rights.
  • The Chief Minister said that, homes being the necessity of almost every family, efforts are being made to ensure that the real estate sector shift from unplanned to planned. In view of the complications faced by the people in unplanned real estate sector, the State Government set up one HRERA exclusively to deal with cases of Gurugram, the highly populated and developed city, and another authority in Panchkula to deal with real estate issues of rest of Haryana.
  • He said that HRERA is not a complaints authority but a regulating authority which not only hear the grievances of the stakeholders but also facilitates the time bound disposal of these complaints. He said that within just two months of taking the reign of administration in the State, we have started e-registration in the State on December 25, 2014, which was observed as Good Governance Day. Thereafter, the State Government has made various services online to ensure that benefit of these services reach at the grass root level in a transparent manner.
  • He said that now after the launch of online portal of Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authorities of Gurugram and Panchkula, the stakeholders could not only make complaints by sitting at their home but also check the status of their complaints. He said that the general complaints would be resolved by HRERA within a time period of 60 days. He said that the State Government has decided to constitute an Appellate Tribunal with its Head Office in Karnal to hear the complaints of stakeholders against the decision of Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (H-RERA). The Chairman of the Appellate Tribunal has been appointed whereas the process of appointing its members is in progress, he added.
  • Earlier, the Chief Minister appreciated the Haryana NIC team for developing the webportal. He also gave away letters of appreciation to five members’ team of NIC headed by Mr Deepak Bansal.
  • Chairman, Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority, Panchkula Mr Rajan Gupta informed that after starting the functioning of HRERA in February 2018, as many as 1500 complaints have been received by both the authorities out of which 450 complaints have been disposed off. Efforts are being made by the authorities to dispose of all the complaints within a period of 60 days. He said that the status of application for registration of project could be viewed by the people at any time. Apart from this, district wise list of project is available on the website and the consumer would be able to see the project details including cost of the project and its lay out plan etc. He said that other activities including judgment of the authorities would also be uploaded on daily basis with an objective that people would not be required to visit the office of the authorities as the requisite information would be available on time. He said that both the authorities are working in coordination to ensure uniform judgement throughout the State.
  • Chairman, Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority, Panchkula Dr K.K Khandelwal thanked the Chief Minister for setting up two regulatory authorities in the State and said that the HRERA has taken a historic decision to redress the complaints concerning both registered and non-registered projects. He said that the setting up of HRERA has given a ray of hope to those allotees who were feeling dejected earlier by the developers. He said the on an average basis, the Authorities receive 15 complaints per day.
  • Among those present on this occasion included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Rajesh Khullar and Additional Principal Secretary, Power Mr P.K Das.
  • Chandigarh October 4:  The Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi who is visiting Sampla Township in district Rohtak on October 9, 2018 to unveil the statue of late leader Sir Chhotu Ram will also lay the foundation stone of Rail Coach Factory to be set up in village Barhi, district Sonipat. The State Government has transferred 160 acres of land to Railway Ministry for this purpose.
  • This was disclosed by Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal while addressing a press conference here today.
  • He said that as the statue of Sir Chhotu Ram has been completed, Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi was requested to unveil it, for which he has given his consent for October 9, 2018.
  • On being asked to comment on the proposed visit of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi to Haryana on November 1, the foundation day of state, the Chief Minister said that we have requested the Prime Minister for the programme to be organized on the completion of four years of present State Government. In case of non availability of Mr Modi due to his busy schedule, BJP National President Mr Amit Shah would attend the function, for which he has already given his confirmation.
  • On being asked to comment on the demand being raised by the people of Sikh community that Chief Minister should visit Gurudwara in  district Karnal, the Chief Minister said that though he has  a deep respect for Gurughars but he would not visit any Gurudwara as has the photo of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, the Khalistan ideologue. We would never allow to disturb the situation in Haryana, he added.
  • He said that during his visit to 13 tiraths (pilgrim places) falling under 48 kos parikarma recently, he was invited to the Gurdwara falling in district Karnal. But he had to skip his visit after he was informed about the photo of Khalistan ideologue Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in the Gurdwara. He said that this issue would be sorted out soon after holding discussion with the representatives of the Sikh Community.
  • The Chief Minister said that the present State Government has organized several functions including the 350th birth anniversary of 10th Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji which was celebrated throughout the State with great enthusiasm. Now, a committee has also been constituted for celebrating the 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Services of two trains was also provided for taking the pilgrims to Patna in Bihar 350th birth anniversary of 10th Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji.
  • When he was asked to comment on the State Government’s decision to hold indirect student elections in the State, the Chief Minister said that the step of the State Government should be appreciated as the students elections are being conducted in the State after a huge gap of 22 years. When his attention was drawn towards the demand for conducting direct student elections, he said that the Lyngdoh Committee in its report has said that in the first year, indirect elections should be conducted.
  • On being asked whether Government is considering any reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel in wake of Centre Government decisions to reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.5 per litre, he said that the issue is under the consideration of the state government.

  • Chandigarh, October 4: The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr J.P. Nadda congratulated the Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij for successful launch of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri – Jan Arogya Yojna (PM-JAY) in Haryana.
  • Mr Nadda while expressing gratitude through a letter to Mr Vij said that with the collective efforts of all, the launching of PM-JAY in Haryana proved to be quite successful which has also helped Prime Minister Mr  Narendra Modi to put works into action in the interest of the poor people.  The scheme would benefit 10.74 crore of the most poor and deprived families of the country thereby providing accessible healthcare to more than 50 crore people.  These families will get medical assistance of upto Rs. 5 lakh and thus would be able to get their treatment done from reputed hospitals.
  • Mr Nadda also said that Central Government successfully overcome all the difficulties while formulating this scheme in the interest of the beneficiaries. He said that in future also more hard work and efforts are required during implementation of PM-JAY in the interest of  needy and most deserving people.
  • Mr Vij said that Haryana is the first state in the country to launch this scheme on pilot basis on August 15, 2018 with giving benefits to the beneficiaries. The scheme is providing benefits to 15.50 families of Haryana with around 80 lakh people. To make this scheme a success, the State has also appointed Ayushman Mitras in Government hospitals for the assistance of patients. Apart from this 200 wellness centers are operational in the State.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 4 – In order to promote social thinking and creativity of students studying in government colleges of the state, the Haryana Higher Education would organise a short film competition under which those bagging first position from college level to state level would be honoured. Apart from this, syllabus would be taught to students through ‘Smart Classroom’ so that they could understand better.
  • Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Mrs. Jyoti Arora interacted with principals of 149 government colleges of the state through video conferencing, here today. She directed them to make the higher education quality oriented.
  • Mrs. Arora urged all the principals to identify the hidden talent and skills among students, and hone their skills to make them employable or to start their own venture after completion of their higher education. She said that the Principals should also encourage students to make inspirational short films of 2-3 minutes and honour the students making best film. The students making best films would be honoured by the State Government from college level to state level.
  • She also took report of the progress of Smart Classroom being constructed in different colleges and said these classrooms would prove to be life changer for dedicated students. The Smart Classroom system is already functional in various countries. The present government is also promoting digital learning and has prepared digital context.
  • The Additional Chief Secretary also directed the Principals to prepare students for participating in sports, cultural and other activities and send timely report of attendance of teachers and students. She also directed all the principals to soon complete all formalities for getting affiliation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). She said that the State Government would provide financial assistance to meet all requirements of the colleges.
  • Chandigarh, October 4-  With a view to promote skills of the youth of Haryana under Skill India Mission,  the Centre for Skilling and Technical  Support, Murthal, district Sonepat is imparting free of cost training for six months to SC students of Haryana and it will be sponsored by the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Department of the State.
  • While giving details an official spokesperson said that during this training period the candidates would be provided free hostel and food facility. In addition to this, they would also be given books, notebooks, stationery, dress and shoes free of cost. The training would be imparted for six months in five different courses including Machine Operator Injection Mould Techniques, Machine Operator Plastics Processing Technology, Machine Operator Plastic Extrusion, Machine Operator Blow Molding And Machine Operator Tool Room. To participate in these training programs, the applicant should be matriculate and his or her age should be between 18 years to 35 years.  
  • He further said that for taking admission, the candidate would be required to bring necessary documents like mark sheet, scheduled caste certificate, income certificate, residential certificate, Aadhar card and passport size 5 color photographs to the institute. The admission process would be as per the rules of the Institute.
  • Chandigarh, Oct 4 – Haryana Police today arrested one person in district Sirsa and recovered 15 kg of Doda Post.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that a blockade was put in place by police party of Sadar Police Station, Sirsa near village Sikandarpur. During the blockade, team signalled a truck to stop. When searched, police found 15 kg Doda Post that was being smuggled by the driver.
  • He said that accused has been identified as Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Mojukhera, Ding, Sirsa. After enquiring about the name of suppliers, a case under the NDPS Act has been registered. He will be taken on remand after producing in the court so that involvement of others in this racket of drug smuggling could be unearthed.
  • The spokesman said that Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu had already given directives to all district Superintendents of Police to completely curb the activities of drugs and narcotics suppliers as well as their distribution network in their respective areas. In this direction, the operation ‘Prabal Prahar’, being carried out in district Sirsa, has been yielding fruitful results.
  • Chandigarh,  October 4 – J.C. Bose (erstwhile YMCA) University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad has extended support to the people of Kerala by contributing Rs 5.3 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund in flood ravaged Kerala. The amount has been contributed out of the one-day salary of the University’s employees.
  • The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar, who called on Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal at his office in Chandigarh, handed over him a cheque of Rs 5.3 lakh on behalf of the University employees.
  • The Vice-Chancellor said that it is a small contribution by the employees of the University as a token of solidarity and concern for the people of Kerala. He hoped that the coastal state would soon recover from the damage caused by the calamity.
  • The Chief Minister appreciated the social initiative of the University for extending their helping hand to the flood affected people of Kerala. He said that the people of Kerala have faced heavy losses to the lives and properties due to severe floods, and every person should express their sensitivity at the time of crisis and extend helping hands to serve disaster-affected people in Kerala.
