  • Chandigarh, Feb 8: Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu directed the officers concerned to prepare assessment report on damage caused to crops due to heavy rains and hailstorm in the State on January 7, so as to provide relief to the affected farmers.
  • Capt. Abhimanyu said that through various sources, he had received the reports of crops damaged due to heavy rains, occurred in the various parts of the State on January 7. Taking immediate action in this regard, he directed the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to prepare complete report of losses due to these rains and hailstorm. After getting report, a special Girdawari would be done for affected areas so that the affected farmers could be provided compensation.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 8 – The Project Director, Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) Programme, Dr Rakesh Gupta will review the important schemes and programmes of the State Government, on February 13, 2019,  through video conferencing.
  • Giving this information today, an official spokesman said that during the video conferencing, Dr Gupta would review the progress of PCPNDT Act, MTP Act, the renovation of public libraries under the Chief Minister's announcement and the progress of the Antyodaya Saral Kendras with all Deputy Commissioners and officers concerned.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 8 – In the ongoing 33rd Surajkund International Craft Mela, the traditional dance performances by highly skilled dancers of the Theme State- Maharashtra, like Mangla Gaur, Dindi Lok Nritya, Lavani dance, Kohli lok Nritya  made  the audience dance to their tunes. Despite rainy spell late last evening, the audiences were cheering 'once more' for the artists in the Chaupal.
  • Dressed in colourful traditional attires the Maharashtrian cultural performers brought alive the spirit and heritage of Maharashtra and made the audience glued to their seats.
  • The artists also presented a fusion of modern and traditional dance to convey a social message on women empowerment. This engaging act left the audience mesmerised. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr K.K. Yadav, Chief Engineer, Haryana Tourism who graced the occasion with other dignitaries.
  • This time, Surajkund Mela 2019 has made access to the mela for the visitors a hassle-free experience by providing the facility of M-ticketing.  With innovative technology of, visitors are able to book tickets for the mela online and with just a QR code scan they are able to enter the mela without queuing up in lines. It is a feature that every visitor is appreciating.
  • Posters of the mela can be seen at Metro Stations and hoardings across Delhi. Promotions at PVR cinemas along with radio channels are reaching out to a vast audience.  Surajkund Mela is surely going the digital way.
  • The school children participated in various competitions with fervor which included face painting competition. Each and every participant displayed their creative skills with paint and brush and the canvas being a human face. The judges found it challenging to decide the winners as each child presented exceptional talent. A kite flying competition was held near the Historical Surajkund Reservoir, where school children were all equipped with colourful kites to impress everyone including the judges with their exceptional talent of kite flying.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 8 – Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Cooperation Department, Mrs. Jyoti Arora directed the officers of HAFED, Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation and HARCO Bank to prepare ultra modern projects within a week and take decision to hand over the work to 25 Primary Agricultural Co-Operative Societies (PACS). This work will involve providing services such as procuring, marketing, distribution and others so that the economy of PACS of the state improves and the farmers get remunerative prices of their produce.
  • Mrs. Jyoti Arora was presiding over a workshop organized on "The Co-operative Structure in Haryana - The Path Ahead", at Panchkula. The main objective of this workshop was to explore the possibilities of adopting the best practices of cooperation both in government and private sector in the field of marketing, processing, dairy, agricultural products and credit.
  • She directed all the officers to adopt at least one idea from this workshop and give it a concrete shape. She said that this would be the success of this workshop. 
  • Chairman of Global Agri System, Mr. Gokul Patnaik said that HAFED prepares cattle feed especially for buffalos. He suggested to HAFED that it should also make poultry feed, swine and pig feed and mineral mixture in his cattle feed series. Fortified flour is already being supplied by HAFED and it should now also prepare fortified basmati rice and introduce it in the market. Apart from this, HAFED should also focus on biomass energy and Bio-CNG. Value-added processing procedure should be adopted and PACS should also be involved in this process.
  • Mr. Patnaik said that cooperative societies should become more competitive as multipurpose societies. In order to provide services to the small and marginal farmers, the PACS should establish Custom Hiring Centres where leveler, tractor and other agricultural equipment would be available. He said that the purpose of co-operatives is not to earn profit, but to increase the income of the farmers.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 8- The cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have so far produced over 16.65 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 178.74 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the current crushing season.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Shahabad has produced a maximum of over 3.22 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 33.27 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Cooperative Sugar Mill, Rohtak has produced over 2.41 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 27.14 lakh quintals of sugarcane, followed by Cooperative Sugar Mill, Kaithal which has produced over 1.93 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 20.30 lakh quintals of sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mill, Karnal, has produced over 1.64 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 17.42 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • Similarly, the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Meham has produced 1.57 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 18.23 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Gohana has produced  over 1.42 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 15.77 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Jind has produced  over 1.36 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 14.30 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Palwal has produced over 1.20 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 12.52 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill,  Panipat has produced 1.14 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 11.93 lakh quintals of sugarcane, and Cooperative Sugar Mill Sonipat has produced 71,150 quintals of sugar by crushing 7.86 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • Apart from this, HAFED Sugar Mill, Assandh has produced over 1.81 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 20.12 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that so far, the average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative sugar mills has been registered as 9.61 per cent.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 8- On the occasion of National De-Worming Day today, Haryana Health Department launched the de worming campaign in the state, by administering albendazole tablet to the school children in the age group of one to 19 years. Under the campaign, 93 lakh children were given de-worming tablets, free of cost.
  • Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Mr Rajiv Arora today launched the campaign by administering de-worming tablets to about 100 school children in Panchkula today. Mr Arora said that in order to achieve the goal fixed under the campaign, the remaining school children would be given de-worming tablets on Mop up Day on February 14, 2019. To complete this campaign, this facility has been provided at Anganwadi centers, schools, villages, towns and cities across the state. In this, the support of ASHA workers of the Health Department, Anganwadi workers and school teachers would be sought.
  • Mr Arora also urged the parents to ensure giving de-worming tablets to their children. He said that the alertness and hard work of the Health Department has not only reduced the Infant Mortality Rate and Maternal Mortality Rate in the state but has also witnessed unprecedented improvement on other parameters. The state government is making all-out efforts at every level to take this campaign to each and every person.
  • Mission Director, National Health Mission, Haryana, Mrs Amneet P Kumar said that worm infection in children and youth adversely affect their health, which leads to stomachache, fever and anaemia. The albendazole tablet treats the children from worms. She said that according to the target fixed by Niti Ayog, the country should be Anaemia and Malnutrition free by 2022. For this, the state government is making all best efforts to achieve the goal.
  • She said that last year, the tablets were given to 78 lakh children and adolescents. The tablets were given at more than 25,000 schools and about 25,000 Anganwadi centers in the state. He said that this time also, about 50,000 teachers and Anganwadi workers have been deputed across the state for making this campaign successful.

  • Chandigarh, Feb 8: With a view to motivate students studying in the colleges of Haryana, to participate in election process, ‘Electoral Clubs’ will be set up in colleges across the State. These ‘Electoral Clubs’ will organise essay writing, poster making, quiz competitions and voters-rallies to make students aware about electoral process of registration and voting.
  • While giving details, the Deputy Director, Higher Education Department, Dr. Hemant Verma said that voting play an important role in strengthening the democracy. He said that as the young students studying in the colleges are the prospective citizens of the Nation having an important role in Nation building. It is thus necessary that these students should understand the importance of elections in democracy so as to have maximum participation of youth in electoral process.
  • Dr. Verma said that Higher Education Department has directed principals of all the Government, Aided and Self Financing colleges of the State to establish ‘Electoral Clubs’ in their colleges. These ‘Electoral Clubs’ will familiarize students with voting process and educate them regarding their responsibility towards voting through various activities including essay writing, poster making, quiz competitions and voters-rallies in the colleges. These ‘Electoral Clubs’ can take the help and guidance of  Electoral Returning Officer and Booth Level Officers of their areas for organizing these activities. Describing these activities as mandatory for all colleges, he said that all the Principals will be required to send the report of these activities to the Directorate within 15 days.
