  • Chandigarh, Feb 9- Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar said that the 4th Agri Leadership Summit-2019 would be organised from February 15-17, 2019  at India International Horticulture Market (IIHM), Ganaur in district Sonipat. The Union Agriculture Minister, Mr  Radha Mohan Singh and  Union Minister of Steel, Birender Singh would inaugurate the summit on February 15, 2019.  In the Summit, every day over 60,000 farmers as well as dignitaries from across the country and abroad, would participate. 
  • The Minister said that on the second day of the Summit, the Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Mr Parshottam Rupala would be the Chief Guest. On the concluding ceremony, the President, Mr Ramnath Kovind would be the Chief Guest and Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal would preside over the programme.
  • Mr Dhankar was presiding over a meeting today to take stock of the preparations for 4th Agri Leadership Summit-2019 at IIHM, Ganaur, in Sonipat.
  • Mr Dhankar said that in 2015, the State Government had organised the first Agri Leadership Summit in Gurugram for the development of agriculture and farmers. After which, it was decided to organise this Summit in every two years and the 2nd Agri Leadership Summit was organised at Surajkund Faridabad in 2017. Later, the state government decided to organise this Summit every year in the interest of farmers and in 2018, the 3rd  Agri Leadership Summit was held in Rohtak, where 1.60 lakh farmers participated from 16 lakh farmers’ families in the state. After the success of the 3rd Summit, it has been decided to organise the 4th Agri Leadership Summit at Ganaur, Sonipat, he added.
  • He said that this Summit has become very popular and we have integrated all the departments like Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Fisheries, agriculture marketing board and other organizations which have direct link to farmers, with the Summit. This is a platform where the department can exhibit all development plans.
  • He said that during the three-day summit, different themes have been formed based on innovative farming for making farming a profitable venture. The theme of first day is Innovation and entrepreneurship, in which foodgrains producing farmers have been invited while, the second day theme is Kheti Plus, Dhan Plus in which farmers into the business of Poultry, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries have been invited and the theme of the third day is Direct Marketing and Agri Service in which farmers have been invited under horticultural format for making farming a profitable business.
  • He said that Agri Leader is a farmer, from whom we learn. There are about 500 farmers in the state who our motivators and who inspire other farmers. During the 3-day Summit, our farmers and our departments would exhibit all what they have achieved. Farmers would also be allowed to sell their products or produce. He also allotted duties to officers of various departments.
  • He said that this year, the state government would honour the farmers with new award Haryana Kisan Ratna Samman to encourage them. This award would carry a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a citation and would be given to a farmer for his outstanding work in the field of agriculture development. This award can also be given to farmers, institutions, universities, departments and scientists working for the development of agriculture and farmers.
  • He said that the farmers visiting the Summit would also be awarded. Every day farmers would be given a coupon and the draw would be held. The prizes of draw included a big tractor, a small tractor, bullet motorcycle and a scooty.  
  • Those present included, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Chairperson, Mrs Krishna Gahlawat, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mrs Navraj Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Mr S.K. Gulati and others.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 9 :  Haryana Chief Secretary Mr. D.S. Dhesi directed the officers of all the districts to implement the  Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana effectively. For this, he directed the officers to prepare a list of eligible farmers by February 25 in all the districts so that the first installment under this scheme could be deposited in their accounts up to March 1.
  • Mr. Dhesi was addressing all the Deputy Commissioners and officials related to the scheme through video conferencing.
  • Mr Dhesi said that in the Interim Budget presented by the Central Government on February 1, the historical policy has been implemented in the interest of farmers in the form of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. He said that under this scheme, eligible farmers having land up to 2 hectares will be given a benefit of Rs. 6,000 in a year which will be payable in three installments of Rs. 2,000 each. He said that all officers should start the work of preparing the list of eligible farmers in their respective districts.
  • Mr Dhesi said that a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner at District Headquarters. The Districts’ Revenue Officer, Development and Panchayat Officer, Deputy Director, Agriculture and District Information and Science Officer have also been included in this committee. BDPO and Tehsildar are also included in block and tehsil level teams. At village level, Patwari, Gram sachiv,  and ADO of the Agriculture Department and JEs of  other departments have been included in the committee for getting  the list of eligible farmers prepared and further provide these lists to the district head quarters.
  • The details of village level committees will be uploaded at the district headquarters. The finalized list would be pasted at the public place in the village so that no eligible farmers would  be left deprived of the benefits of this scheme. If any eligible farmer is left out, he can send an application to the Deputy Director of the agriculture department who will then be  included in the list.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 9 :  Haryana Education and Tourism Minister,  Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma  said that the rich traditional culture of our country is highly appreciated across the world.  Through this, India has made special identity in the world. Surajkund Crafts Mela has become a common platform for the culture of various countries and States which is liked by everyone visiting here.
  • Mr Sharma said this while addressing the gathering present on the Chaupal after going around the 33rd International Surajkund Crafts Mela in Faridabad. He said that the State Government is taking effective steps to promote tourism sector.  He said that Surajkund Mela has made its special identity not only in India but also abroad. Besides other countries, all the states of our country are participating in this fair.
  • Mrs.  Malini Awasthi (the folk music artist) enthralled the audience with her performance. Her voice reaches far and wide in the world. (Her performance included various forms of folk music-such as Dadra, Kajri, Jhoola, Holi, Birha, etc.)
  • Mr Sharma interacted with the officers of the department regarding the International Surajkund Craft Mela and also gave necessary directions. He said that every possible facility should be provided for tourists coming to the fair.
  • Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism department, Mr Vijai Vardhan was also present on this occasion.

  • Chandigarh, Feb 9 –The office bearers of National Health Mission Association, Haryana has been called to discuss their demands, on February 11, 2019 in the office of Health Secretary and Director, National Health Mission, Haryana in Mini Secretariat, Sector-17, Chandigarh.
  • Giving this information today, an official spokesman said that some employees of National Health Mission, Haryana had been on strike since February 5, 2019, for their demands. They have been called to held discussion on their demands.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 9:  Haryana Government has posted Sunil Kumar Gulati (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department as Chairman-cum–Managing Director, Haryana Minerals Ltd. with immediate effect.
  • He has also been given the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department.
