- Chandigarh, Sept 10– In a major break-through, a team of Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police have unearthed an illegal liquor factory engaged in bottling of IMFL and other brands operating from a house located in village Baiyanpur Khurd of Sonipat district.
- While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that STF sleuths have also nabbed Pawan, who was running the unit. The Police had unearthed the unit during a raid on the house after a tipoff.
- After getting a strong input about the illegal unit, he said that STF had immediately raided and seized 630 empty bottles of Royal Stag, 648 half bottles of Imperial Blue, 2,100 other half bottles, a 750-litre Orient tank having 500 litre illegal liquor, 600 labels of royal stag, 410 labels of Mcdonald, 1500 covers of royal stag, a CD deluxe motorcycle, pipes for filling liquor and a stock of rolls, seals, boxes, barcode and labels.
- He said that a case under different sections of IPC and Excise Act was registered against the accused.
- Meanwhile Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu congratulated the DIG STF, Mr Sateesh Balan and his entire team for their significant achievement in busting the illegal unit of liquor.
